i'm sorry for people who spend their money at this restaurant. i don't know if it should be call restaurant. Now i can understand why server give funky service. I worked at this creapy place for a few days and I didn't get pay. I went at the place for several times and the "" manager"" said that he already paid when i didn't recieve anything from him not even one cent as tips. pls don't wasted your maney at this place. more

FOOD POI SON ING!!! 11/21/2008

I am not usually one to complain but I ate at ?Bravo Cucina? on the 3rd Street Promenade and got food sickness. I had a burger and the calamari. The food there is not that great anyway; eat there at your own risk. Pros: Good service Cons: The food will make you miss a day of work. more

A restaurant that will make you say... WTF!?!? 3/24/2008

First off let me say that i am ranked the #3 food critic in the nation so please take what i have to say very seriously. Pros: I got a job as a street performer Cons: Bad Service followed by the waiter making it rain on your head more

When I say bad I mean bad 3/24/2008

This place had bad service. I mean you expect a quality of service in some of these ""nicer"" restaurants. Not cheap food and snobby waiters. Way to ignore cultural and religious diversity by trying to feed meat to a vegetarian! Pros: Its in LA Cons: Everythig else more

Rude service 3/23/2008

If you're hoping for a great night of dining with excellent service, this is NOT the place to go. It ruined my Friday night and I would not recommend this place to anyone. The place looks so cute and elegant, but the people who work there ruin that atmosphere. Pick another place... I believe La Salsa is right around the corner, and THAT is amazing service for you :) Pros: food and decor Cons: service more

Worst Service EVER 3/23/2008

We all went out for a friends bday -- they were nice to hold the table for us a bit longer. But that's where the compliments stop. The waiter came by to our table and gave us 1 basket of bread (for 15 people), they spilled water on our table (and didnt clean it up). My friend ordered a salad without the bacon (she is a strict vegetarian) and they bring it back with a few pieces of bacon in there. I go to waiter and ask him to take off the bill and he says he needs to talk to his manager. We get the bill it's still on there, so I go to talk to the manager and the dude says ""did you send it back?"" and i said ""no, she didnt want to eat anymore after she saw the meat"" and he says ""well i cant help you then"". I end up cussing the guy out. We go to pay and we end up getting the bill with gratutity included. So we pay whatever was on the bill and we leave. As we leave the manager STOPS us and says ""you cant leave until you pay the entire bill"" i told him to re count - and the waiter actually mis-counted, it was embarassing to have people staring at you for not paying your bill. Pros: nice location Cons: service, food, price, almost everything else more

Avoid on Any Night 3/23/2008

This restaurant may be in a great location but that's about the only thing great about it. If you like bad service, generic overpriced food, and angry waitors, come to this place. more

HORRIBLE SERVICE 3/23/2008

This place was one of my worse dining experiences ever. Don't expect anyone to refill your drink. The waitors are slow, the management is unfriendly and they like to charge money to bring out a cake. Take your business elsewhere. more

A little gem if you want an authentic rustic Italian meal 1/3/2008

I normally eat at higher-end Italian restaurants, but bumped into this and keep coming back. Sit at the back bar and watch the chef rapidly preparing the meals. It's fun to watch but makes it difficult to decide what to order as everything he makes looks and smells terrific! My favorites: mushroom ravioli, cappelini rustica, the sole and the lasagna. If you really want to get into the spirit of the promenade and enjoy a fresh and tasty dinner, this is the place!! Pros: Authentic, reasonably priced more

Average Italian Fair 4/18/2007

This restaurant is ok. I don't know why I always go back to it. It's nothing special, but at least the quality of ingredients is good. Whatever you order, it will be good. It's romantic to eat on the patio, but the downside is the street performers. We sat for one hour listening to a terrible rendition of jewel. It ruined dinner. Overall, a good average place to eat. Pros: good quality Cons: prices, street performers, wine more

totally average all around 8/15/2006

There's nothing special about this place, other than the fact it's on third street. You can find better Italian food just about anywhere else in LA, and the service was really slow and seemed annoyed or tired. If you're on third street and craving Italian, go for it, but venture elsewhere for better food and service. more

Why this place is on the Best Of list? 4/24/2006

I used Citysearch to find this restaurant and was very dissappointed. This place is very generic, with tourist-quality food and average wine. Pros: ok ambiance Cons: generic food more

A great meal and great fun! 8/16/2005

My family and I were walking the promenade and decided to looking for a nice little place to have some food that was also child friendly. Bravo Cucina certainly was the place! Imagine our surprise to find a restaurant on the Promenade that serves Organic foods. The service was excellent, the food fantastic! I had an excellent mushroom ravioli, my husband had a delicious soup and spagetti with meat sauce, but most important was my daughter had a fantastic burger with the most delicious fries, my husband and I had to sneak a few. We got all this for a great price and great fun. We would whole heartedly recommend Bravo Cucina to anyone in the area or going to Santa Monica. Try it, you will not regret it, we certainly didn't. Pros: Child Friendly, Organic Foods more

Fantastic Service, Food and Family Night 8/15/2005

I have been coming to Bravo Cucina for years, mainly at lunchtime due to the fast service during my lunch hour. I recently had out of town guests with small children and we decided to come in for dinner. I was more than satisfied with our experience and service. The waiter who served us was fantastic. He knew the menu inside and out and was able to assist us in finding a bottle of wine that would compliment all the meals ordered. After dinner, we decided to order a few desserts for the table (tira misu, cannoli's, chocolate cake and my personal favorite the profiterole). My friends are still raving about these desserts a week later. After this, I no longer think of Bravo Cucina as a great lunch place on the Promenade, but it is now my favorite restaurant in Santa Monica. I will definately return for dinner...maybe tonight. Pros: exceptional service, incredible food, delicious desserts more

Inattentive staff a real let down 7/2/2005

The food was mediocre..had the seafood risotto, the squid was too rubbery & way too much butter and salt..about $20 a plate. Wine was okay..house merlot ($8)..the desert, we didn't stay long enough. The lack of service was the most dissapointing. I went during the July 4th weekend and there were only two waiters servicing the whole resturant. The waiter came by once to take our order. No...is everything okay....no would you like grated parmesean on your seafood risotto...no can I get you another glass of wine. I literally had to tackle a busboy to get his attention for a glass of water. I could've gone to McDonalds for this type of service. I went to complain to the manager and was made too feel as if I was a difficult customer. My girl was quite upset. This place left such a bad taste that I will never come back. Cons: inattentive staff, Rude manager, fish smells more

Want poor service? Eat here. 7/2/2005

Let me tell you about this place...do not trust other reviews. We thought we were going to have a nice dinner, but low and behold...could not get any service from the staff. The food was average, but the service- TERRIBLE!!! I have tried many different restaurants, but I have to say, I would have probably gotten better service from the people at McDonald's. We couldn't even get any water to our table until we were almost done with our meal! I was really disappointed. I will definitely never go back and will be sure to tell everyone I know to avoid this place. more
