These guys really saved my bacon... 12/23/2010

My oven broke just before thanksgiving, I called and they got somebody out that day even though they were full up. He had the part on his van and fixed it that evening! Not too expensive, well worth it! more

Thanks to the good people at Paul's 12/3/2010

Last week our clothes washer over flowed and I wet vaced some 10 gallons of water from the carpeted launder room. I?m kind of a do it yourself kind of guy and I wanted to see if I could fix this one myself. I usually don?t have too many parts left over after fixing something. The next day I spent a lot of time on the phone trying to get some help to diagnose the problem. I started with Sears Appliance center. Because we bought the washer dryer there. Man what a run-a-round. So I tried local appliance repair shops. It seems that if you are not calling to set up an appointment for a repairman to come to your home you?re not worth their time. ?We?ll have a tech call you back.? Still waiting for that one. Then I called Appliance Service by Paul, Inc. Parts guy Tim walked me through some steps to diagnose the problem and said what he thought the problem was. He also said it would be a good idea to talk to the techs before they went out for the day in the trucks and to call back at 8:30 am the next day. That night I ran through the steps suggested by Tim and decided that he was right about the water flow valve being the problem. I called the next morning and talked to Mike one of the techs. We went over the steps I had followed and he agreed that it was the water flow valve. He explained how to take it off and took down the info on the make and mod. of the machine. I was then transferred to the front desk to a nice lady and the part was ordered. I picked up the part from the nice lady at the front desk (the one with the most amazing finger nails, I should have asked for he name) the next day and ten minutes to install and make a test run. Fixed. The people at Paul?s are great and easy to work with. I don?t know if they are the cheapest out there and their not the biggest, but their customer service is far better than others I called for help on this one. more

Appliance Service by Paul - Excellent! 11/20/2010

The guy came to check out our Kitchenaid double oven. He quickly diagnosed the problem, plus told us some things we didn't know, then ordered the part and returned in 8 days - within the appointed time frame - installed the part, checked it, and left. He was our second shot at a repair. The first guy charged us more than this one and did absolutely nothing but talk. Unbelievable!! more

late, but worth it. 11/3/2010

The guy that worked on our Whirlpool washer was about 30 minutes outside of his time-slot, but the appointment lasted only 20 minutes. He was efficient and quick to fix the problem! more

These guys are great Highly Recomended 10/26/2010

I have dealt with them for 6 years, and have found them to be extremely trustworthy honest and knowledgeable I would recommend them to all ! they have repaired everything from my high end (wolf sub zero etc.) appliances to the whirlpool washer . always have found they were very reasonable, and honest in their charges, after repairing several different unrelated problems on my whirlpool washer over a couple of years they said that this model was very problematic and it has reached the point when most of these die, they gave me an almost new washer free of charge saying that i was likely to continue having issues with mine and it was not worth spending any more money on it. their repairs stay fixed, they do what they say, and I have never not had a call back when promised. I sought out their advice when building my new kitchen as to what was reliable etc. and they were very very helpful. what more can I say these guys are Great! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED more

Horrible Service 9/22/2010

I used them to look at a gas stove. The service guy was on time and very nice. However, the guy could not pull out the stove by himself and asked me to help even though I was clearly pregnant. I helped him because he was hitting my new cabinets by trying to move the stove. I was also told that the service call would be $29.95 and then there would be labor and part charges in addition if needed. It turned out that my stove was not the problem but the connection was bad and he could not help me but still charged me $80.08. I called the office several times speaking to several different people promising me a call back from the person in charge of refunds. I spoke to one person who agreed I was charged too much and deserved a refund but still no one returned my calls. I will never recommend Appliance Service By Paul to anyone. more

Will Cost You More Than You Expect! 8/24/2010

Used them to repair a washing machine. Came out when promised. Was shocked when I saw the price for the 20-minute service call. I had been told the service call was $29.95 and then there would be labor and parts. They should actually tell you that the charge for coming out will not be LESS THAN $85. The repair person told me the only way I'd pay the minimum $55 for the service call is if he showed up at my house, asked me if I wanted my appliance fixed, and I said no I didn't want my appliance fixed. That would be $55. more

Wonderful service on Sub-Zero lemon 1/29/2010

We have a Sub-Zero refrigerator that I think is aptly named because it is terrible. The fridge portion stopped cooling. The tech came and spent just a few minutes tweaking some things and then indicated it would be 3-5 days to order a part. The next day, they called to inform me that the part was in. The same tech arrived on time, part in hand. After 25 minutes, the hinge on the door was replaced and alligned. It now works wonderfully, despite the fact that I still hate the fridge and would definitely get a Bosch or Thermador next time. Pros: friendly, prompt, knowledgeable more

Don't expect much 12/27/2009

I paid $225 to Appliance Service by Paul and spent a lot of my time and strain of the nerves trying to fix my ASCO dishwasher, and I still had dishwasher, which I could not use until today. I waited required parts about 3 weeks, they ordered a wrong part and I waited one more week until it was delivered and installed. Anyway my dishwasher still ddid not not work... I have called to Appliance service by Paul, explain the situation and left messages. Nobody call me back. May be it is just my luck and everything will be OK with your appliances. Today - Dec. 30 Service manager from Appliance by Paul called me and came over to my house. He fixed everything and my dishwasher works now. I can't believe that... I think everything will depend who from this company will repair your appliances. more

Not worth wasting your time!! 8/5/2009

I called to get my appliance fixed. I was given a two hour time slot, from 10-12. The day of the appt, I called and spoke with the (rather unfriendly) receptionist to ensure that the technician had the correct number to call when he reached the gate of my gated community. At no time did she tell me that he would call on his way to my home to confirm the appt. She confirmed the appt for sometime between 10-12. more

Don't expect much 6/10/2009

I've used Appliance Service by Paul a couple times now in the last 3 years. They came out last week and looked at our washer and said it needed a new part. He left and a couple days later I started calling the main number trying to find out if they ordered a part or if they were coming back. A week went by and they said they contacted the tech a couple time to call me. He never did. Today he shows up at my house with a part and wants to put it in. So I get on the phone with this guy and start asking him why he didn't let me know what was going on. He denies ever getting any request from their office. I don't know who was lying but someone's not doing their job over there. Anyway he works on the washer puts it back together and then walks off the job saying he can't fix it. I'm not sure what to think but Appliance Service by Paul is not doing the repair that is for sure. Hopefully your experience is different from mine. Good Luck. Pros: They are usually available to come out. Cons: Don't expect them to call back. more

They used to be good 5/21/2009

I've used Appliance Service by Paul on and off for 15 years, but when I asked them recently to repair my Thermador oven I was perplexed by their lack of knowledge and professionalism. Did not return phone calls, very poor communication, and truly didn't seem to know anything about the oven. The first time it was ""repaired"" the service guy turned it on to show me how quickly it would now heat up and it arced, nearly burning his eyebrows off. So he decided it needed a new element, a ""3 to 4 days wait."" Two weeks later he shows up with a gas element, although the oven is electric. So had to start over. Ultimately the oven got fixed but I would love to know if there is another company servicing high-end appliances. more

Very unprofessional 4/28/2009

We scheduled the appointment between 3:00-5:00PM, service guy called at 2:00pm and said he was on his way. When we told him that nobody was going to be at the house until the scheduled time of 3:00 PM he responded with ""Well what am I supposed to do for another hour?"". So we had to make special arrangements to get someone there ASAP. When the repair was made he called my fiance and was extremely rude on the phone. I have never felt the need to write a review about a company, but this one deserved it. We will constantly advise people to go with another company. more

Had great service for the last six years 2/13/2009

We have used this company four times over the last six years. We have found them to be good, priced right and trustworthy. Especially good is their technican, Dave, who has been to our house three of the four time. Pros: fast, efficient, cost effective, most importantly, trustworthy Cons: unknown, so far more

Poor workmanship 12/31/2008

We had this company out three times. Each time they quickly found the problem, but with in months two of those repairs failed. I ended up going in and fixing the repairs myself. The quality of the repair was awful; wires spliced poorly that later came loose. I really have to find someone else next time. Pros: friendly, prompt, knowledgeable Cons: poor workmanship more

Of Course Your Happy...YOU own the business!! 11/24/2008

Of course ""LIGHTENING ROD"" is happy with this business....it is because HE OWNS IT!! How totally unethical and dishonest for him to write a supposed ""review"" of how great his business is! To give the illusion to prospective customers that this is an honest and moral business, when in fact, the owner himself incorporates deceptive business practices! I'm very suspicious of the other ""glowing reviews"" as well. How can you trust a business to be honest with you, the customer, when they are being dishonest themselves? My recommendation........DO NOT TRUST OR SOLICIT THIS BUSINESS!! Cons: Dishonest, unethical and deceptive business practices more

Deceptive Business Practices 11/20/2008

I called to ask the cost of diagnosing the problem with my washing machine. I was told that $39.95 so I made the appointment. The service technician came to the home spent 10 minutes without disassembling any part and give an estimate of repair for over $300 because the motor was bad. This 10-minute service call cost $80.08. Cons: Deceptive price quotes. more

Professional Honest Service 10/26/2008

These guys saved us when our washer died the day before our kids came back from college to do laundry! They got a tech out immediately, he was very efficient and polite and our washer was ready to go for our children. They saved us a bundle! more

Great service, Talented techs 7/22/2008

Our fridge broke down a few weeks ago, we had no idea what to and if we were going to lose all of our food. We called another company and a week later we were 500 dollars into it and it still didn't work. Then a friend recommended Appliance Service by Paul. Their tech came in and found the problem...he repaired it and basically gave it a tune up to make sure everything was working and would do so in the future and the best part was he recognized it as being a common problem and got the company that made it to cover the cost! We are so greatful that they fixed it so we don't have to spend more money and buy a new one, Thank you Appliance Service by Paul! more

Highly Recommended!! 4/8/2008

I have used these guys for years. We have recommended them to our friends and family for years too. We have all had great experiences. My low end washer just went out. I was debating on whether or not it was going to be cheaper to fix it or to replace it. The service rep was really kind and took time to explain all my options and let me make the decision based on what he told me. I'd recommend them to anyone. They have always been professional and I (as well as my friends and family) have always been pleased with their service. more
