Took my dobie in on friday this oct. told me to watch her and give her the medicine for her stomach and hips. they would call monday and make sure she was alright. monday she died. more

Mixed Review 11/11/2008

We have been taking our pets to AMC about the past 2 years. We adopted from a basset rescue, and AMC was the vet that the rescue used, so we just stuck with them\r \r Our newest basset, Penny, had a lump on her back hind-quarter that we were told was probably a fatty cyst. In october, it swelled to the size of a tennis ball. We took her in, and it turns out the lump was a tumor that had gotten infected. The infection healed on its own, and AMC recommended the tumor be removed. The earliest appointment they had was a month out. I scheduled the appointment, and was told to be there around 8, but that I would get a call the day before the surgery to confirm. \r \r I never got the call, but went in and was there at 8:45. I was told that for surgery I should have been there at 8, and they wouldn't perform surgery today. \r \r Needless to say, I was very disappointed in the service after going there with 5 different pets the past 2 years. I never got my confirmation call, and then after more

I wouldn't consider looking for another Vet 10/11/2008

I've been going to AMC since at least 1994. All of the staff truly care about the pets they take care of, they have heart, and they understand the grief pet owners go through when the outcome is not good. I can't say enough good things about Animal Medical Center. more

Spaying my chihuahua 6/25/2008

I took my chihuahua to Animal Medical Center and they did a wonderful job. The next day she was up and moving around playing as usual. You can not even tell she was cut on the scars are none noticable. The ladys were very helpful and answered my many of questions i had. I called atleast 4 times checking on her and they were nice and didnt bother them at all well didnt sound like it atleast. Pros: Nice staff & stiches were perfect and now cant even tell she had surgey! Cons: Office is a bit older looking which made me a little iffy on how up to date they were but was clean! more

The best a Maine can get 10/15/2007

My partner and I have two Maine Coon cats now and before that we had taken our dogs to AMC (Animal Medical Center) for years. The girls at the front desk (you know the ones who run the place) are WONDERFUL!! The Drs. (Courtney and Jean) are the very compassionate and caring and you don't feel rushed when you see them, like you are just another person with just another pet making them just another dollar. We have dealt with AMC on every level from emergencies, routine care, and even euthanasia of one of our dogs. Everyone at AMC is the best a Maine can get. Very knowledgeable in all aspects of veterinarian care. Prices are the best in Indy. Best care, best prices, best staff, and best vets - why would you go anywhere else?? Jason and Chris more

My dog almost died 7/19/2007

Took my dog in for dental cleaning. She was given too much anesthesia and she slept for 5 hours after the procedure. They could not wake her, and did not tell me because they ""didn't want to worry"" me. \r \r I advised staff next day that her gum had been nicked, and was red and swollen. The vet said not to worry and it would go away on its own. I did not know at the time, that animals should be given a course of antibiotics after a dental cleaning. My dog was not given anything and her gums became infected, and it spread through her mouth. \r \r I took her to another, more caring, vet, but by then the infection had caused my dog to lose seven (7) of her teeth. \r \r Because of the problems she endured at this place, my sweet little dog does not have all of her teeth, and cannot eat any type of hard food, like kibble. Despite the daily tooth-brushings, all of her teeth are loose in her gums. It would only have cost a few dollars for the antibiotics she needed but was not given. I would have gladly paid the money to ensure her continued good dental health, but now I am left with a dog who is permanently injured...not to mention the hundreds of dollars it took to make her well again.\r \r I would never take another animal of mine to this place. more

5 Stars! 6/23/2007

Dr. Rachel Anderson was able to diagnose my pet after bringer her to two other vets that couldn't figure it out. \r \r Excellent staff with a very, very low turnover. I've been going there for 3 years and they have all the same staff. more

Terrific Staff, Reasonable Prices, Empathy 2/17/2007

I had to move away from this clinic, but still occasionally duck in when I am in the neighborhood. Excellent staff. Knowledgeable and friendly. They clearly care about the clinic and the clients and patients. LOW turnover for front room staff. High end dog food (we have to get prescription food for dog food allergies). Even though we have not always been able to afford what was needed, we were offered options that fit our budget. We miss you guys! We ended up going to the dasterdly VCA in Beech Grove. We hae that place, so came to insiderpages to find better for our babies. more
