I would highly recommend Almaden Valley Transmission for transmission repairs. I brought in my Ford and they were able to diagnose the problem immediately. I used Almaden Valley Transmission for the first time, and it was an excellent experience. I went to them because I actually was able to figure out the problem with the car on my own. I got the part I needed, but I needed to bring it somewhere for the work since the car needed to be put on a lift for the repairs. I went to a couple other places, but everyone else wanted to charge me for diagnostics. Almaden did it for me for an hourly rate, and the guy drove me home and picked me up when the car was ready. Any time I have a car problem, I will probably go back to them! more

I've been going to Almaden Valley Transmission for the past four years or so. They've always done excellent transmission repair and I would recommend them for that. However, they've been trying to expand their business recently and I hired them to put a used motor into my car. It's been running fine but one of the lights on my dashboard keeps coming on and they can't figure out what the problem is. All in all, this is a good place to get transmission repair but I don't know if I'd use them again for other services. The prices are pretty competitive as well. more

Almaden Valley Transmission replaced the master cylinder and it was pretty quick. When it goes out, the car's not functional so they did it quickly and at a reasonable price. more

I would go back to Almaden Valley Transmission. It was my first time using them, and I think there was a miscommunication between us and them. I asked them to call my cell, but they kept calling my wife. Our numbers are only one digit difference. We had to wait for a part to come, and I know they were pretty busy. So other than that, their price was fine. I do have a little bit of an issue still, and I have to take my car back. But their service is good. I think there is a little bit of language barrier, but they do good work! more

I had my car towed in from the freeway one evening when my daughter was with me. The guy at the shop told us to drop the key in the deposit box and that he would take care of it in the morning. I went in the morning to check on it and saw that he had already fixed it. However, I thought the price that he charged me was a bit high. I am not a novice concerning cars by any means, so I did not see how the total price that he came up with matched the hours of labor and the parts used. I had actually come in the morning before it was even supposed to be ready. I arrived at 9 am, and he had not even notified me that the car was fixed. So I do not know which hours he worked, or what parts he used, though he did show me a broken bolt. In my mind to charge $267 for all of that seemed a bit pricey. But since I was in a tough spot, and he knew I was in a tough spot, I guess he felt the liberty to go ahead and charge whatever. I did not have a chance to scout the neighborhood, but if I did, then I would have chosen the guys next door who took a transmission out and replaced the seal for not even half the price of what these guys charged me. But overall, he did fix the issue so I'm pleased with that. more

I had a clutch that they did some work on and put in new suspension thrusts on another vehicle. It turned out okay. They treated me well. more

My friend works at another shop and his boss told him that Almaden Valley Transmission has really good customer satisfaction and a really good reputation for doing really good quality work. I've been going there for two or three moths. They rebuilt my whole transmission in a 2002 PT Cruiser. They were really polite, kind, and everything. They were fairly fast when they did it also. They have good satisfaction and are rated highly around town. My vehicle is running perfectly now. They told me to bring it back a second time so they could check it out and see if it had any leaks and it's perfect. more

I take multiple cars to Almaden Valley Transmission. Any time I do, they are easy to work with on things that I want done specifically. Whether they're checking something really quickly, or doing something overnight, they're really, really accessible. more

Almaden Valley Transmission was excellent. I would and have recommended them. The experience there was very positive. We had to take back our truck, and they were really good at fixing it the same day. No problems now. The truck was having trouble with shifting the transmission while driving. This was a special vehicle, a F100 1954 Ford custom pick up truck. I'm glad they were able to work on it. They all seemed to know what they were doing and were kind and considerate. more

I bring my car into Almaden Valley Transmission and they make sure it's strong and doing what it should be. When they find an issue, they fix it as fast as they can. I'd like it to be a little quicker, but unfortunately parts take time to get there. They do a good job and the car always runs better after I see them. I've been going there for two years. It's convenient. You can drop off your car the night before and they will start working on it the next day. And it's decently priced. They're priced about the same as everybody else. more

I took my truck in to Almaden Valley Transmission to get my timing belt replaced but found out it was the starter. They had to keep it overnight but it was ready the next morning. They were very friendly and reasonable. more

We went in to Almaden Valley Transmission for a diagnosis of clutch versus transmission (we didn't actually know what the problem was). He contacted us within a few hours and told us we would need a new clutch. He gave us a quote for the work and promised to get it back to us very quickly. It's an older truck, so he informed us that the time delay would be based on the availability of parts. When it was ready, he called to notify us of additional work to be done, saying it would be an additional amount. Well, he was spot on with the quote! He charged exactly what he said. Lastly, when we picked it up, he showed us the old parts alongside the new parts, explaining very well what had been done. more

My car was totally un-serviceable. I was on a road trip and had the car towed to Almaden Valley Transmission. The owner was very friendly. He took a look, gave me a call back a couple days later, and told me what the problem was and how much it would be to fix. I told him to go ahead and I had the car back in ten days. Be prepared; your car might take a little longer. Especially if they're busy, it might be a few extra days. But it's well worth it. Just make sure you arrange for some other transportation in the mean time. more
