ACE - Actors Cabaret 9/1/2005

Actors Cabaret has two theatres located right on the downtown mall in Eugene's city center. In addition to live performances year round, on almost every weekend, they offer drama instruction at the ACE Youth Academy. In operation since 1979, ACE has premiered original new plays and musicals, and also offers well recognized fare such as Guys & Dolls, Sweeney Todd and Hair. If they are showing Rocky Horror Picture Show you really shouldn't miss it! Most Friday and Saturday nights dinner is available in a package with your ticket to the Cabaret. Most weekends a Sunday brunch is also available in the same package. Beer, wine and other non-alcoholic beverages are available. If you order dessert before the show, you'll be served at intermission. I can't say enough good things about this place - the casts and crews are volunteers, and many have spent more than 30 years supporting community theatre and encouraging others in the arts. It's a worthy non-profit. more

Yummy Show 8/17/2005

ACE is a dine-while-you-watch theatre experience. The ACE features a wide variety of plays that can be crammed into their simple but efficient little stage. The main director (who directs nearly all of the shows) regularly taps into the local actors and brings out the best. An evening is well spent at the ACE. But watch out for desert. more
