I cannot say enough good things about the Las Vegas Hilton! My husband and I have been through many of the Vegas hotels, and I would recommend the Hilton, hands down! For start...

Las Vegas Hilton - clean and affordable! 1/20/2006

I stayed here during 4th of July weekend (NOTE TO SELF...never go to Vegas during the summer! scorching 120 degrees days and 90+ degree nights). Since it was so friggin' hot during the daytime, we basically holed ourselves inside the air conditioned Hilton and went out at night. My friend was actually able to get the cheapest rate by calling the reservation line. It was cheaper than all the travel search engines we tried and the Hilton's own website. So remember to also call a hotel's reservation line for a possibly cheaper rate! Our rooms were spacious and clean. A definite step up from a Days Inn. We mostly ate at the Paradise Cafe since it's open 24/7. Despite being quite pricey (it's a hotel restaurant, so not a surprise), it was actually quite good. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and weren't overcooked. The Chinese chicken salad was displayed quite nicely! There's also a Pizza Hut with TCYB and other dining options which we didn't try out. The monorail stops at the Hilton so no need to drive to the super-crowded Strip. Oh forgot to mention, it's a must-go for Trekkies. There's the Star Trek Experience and a Star Trek-theme restaurant and bar. more

Las Vegas Hilton - close enough to the Strip 7/19/2005

When I recommend this hotel to people, it never ceases to amaze me how many refuse to stay there because it's "not on the strip". They'd rather pay more and stay somewhere that's not quite as nice, or less and stay somewhere that's not nice at all. The Hilton has everything you want - very clean and attractive rooms, excellent service, a casino, spa, bar and lounge, and two restaurants. One serves upscale Japanese, the other inexpensive Mexican with a yummy little salsa bar even. If you cross Paradise road, you will be in the back parking lot of the Riviera. From that hotel, you can take a shuttle up and down the strip to your heart's content. When you see the views of the city from your room at night, you'll know you made the right choice. more

High roller treatment, low roller prices 6/29/2005

I cannot say enough good things about the Las Vegas Hilton! My husband and I have been through many of the Vegas hotels, and I would recommend the Hilton, hands down! For starters, the walk from the parking garage to the hotel rooms isn't that bad. This may sound like an odd thing to say, but if you have been to some of the casinos in Vegas - you know what I'm talking about. Some of them are RIDICULOUSLY large... to the point of being a real pain in the behind! The Hilton is a nice size, with several small shops and such, but it's easy to make your way across it. When you enter the hotel from the front... the hotel is simply beautiful. There is a casino called the crystal casino, with large crystal chandeliers hanging overhead... marble floors... it looks very posh, very expensive. For someone like me, this was a big deal. We never stay in fancy, pricey hotels... and this place just made me feel special. The room we were in was nice - nothing terribly fancy - but very nice. I think hey are in the process of renovating everything, and the room we were in was an old one. I'd very much like to see the newly renovated rooms! In addition to the Crystal Casino, there is also an AWESOME Sports book with lots of video poker, and the Space Quest casino... this is adjacent to their Star Trek attraction, and has a very spacey feel. The buffet is moderately priced, and while it doesn't have the quantity of some of the Vegas buffets, it is quality food. My husband and I had a nice time playing video poker in the Sports book at night... there was no sports betting going on, so it was very dark and quiet back there. Out in the Crystal Casino, their cabaret was playing really peppy dance music (stuff like ABBA and the BeeGees), and the atmosphere was just one of FUN. We were able to get a travel package via America West - we paid about $700 for two airfares and 4 nights hotel - I'd say we got a GREAT deal! Next time we were in Vegas, we will DEFINITELY be staying at the Hilton again, and I would recommend it to everyone I know! more
