Being new to the area, I had to find someplace to take our Sheltie, Leia, for a bath and cut. I chose this place for several reasons... one, the location is very convenient for me, and secondly, it was the only local groomer I could find that anyone had commented about online.
It was very easy to get an appointment. I was even able to get one the same day I talked to Oksana! When I took Leia in, Oksana was so gentle and loving with her, and I could tell right away that her business would be a good fit for our dog.
I was afraid that it might be pricey, but it was the same price as the Petsmart we took Leia to in Colorado! And Oksana and her staff did a much better job! I was really impressed with the cut they gave her... they did really well with her problem spots (the fur around her rear end is a nightmare to deal with!).
All of the staff there seem super nice, to both the dogs and the owners they deal with! I'm very glad to have found this place, and lucky to have done so on our first try!
Just a note... Oksana's is located in the shopping center at Bollinger Canyon/Alcosta. It's on the side with the Hollywood Video and Bank of America... it's an oddly designed shopping center, so knowing that may make it easier to find :)

The hubby and I tried this place for lunch over the weekend and we both loved it. We had the regular hot dog, or the "top dog", as they called it... but they had SO many choices and I'll definitely be sampling some of them when we go back. There were choices that were low fat, a veggie dog, several different German choices, and more. They have several different relishes and mustards, along with ketchup, onions, etc, for you to top off your dog. The fries were great, too... you could tell they were freshly made.
The place also had a very cute 50's diner sort of atmosphere, and the staff was VERY friendly! Also, I thought the price was reasonable - $5.99 for a hot dog, fries, and drink. I'd highly recommend giving it a try if you're in the market for a good dog!

I decided to give this place a try today, and all in all, I'm happy I did. I can't speak to how authentically Hawaiian this may be, as I've never tried any Hawaiian food before, but I enjoyed the food. I chose to go with the barbecue beef. I think my meal was about $9, and that included a fairly generous portion of the beef, two scoops of rice, and their potato salad. I thought everything was delicious! I loved the sauce that the beef and rice were drizzled with, and the potato salad was unlike any I'd had before - very tasty. There was some fat on the beef, but not a lot.
I would give this place 4 stars if it weren't for the prices... I just thought $8.50/9ish dollars (before the drink) was a bit high for what essentially amounts to take-out lunch. I'd feel better about it at a $6 or even $7 price tag.
I had seen this place get some poor reviews elsewhere, but the people doing the reviews sounded like picky eaters (no offense meant) to me. I should probably start putting a disclaimer in my restaurant reviews that I'm not that particular, so picky eaters should take my reviews with a grain of salt! ;)

I was so happy we tried this place tonight. I had been a little disenchanted with local restaurants, but this place is the best I've found thus far in my stay in this area.
I got the chunk o beef, texas style... the meat and bbq sauce were very good. I was not in love with the texas style sides, but they were decent.
I was, however, absolutely head over heels for their bread pudding! It is the BEST bread pudding I have ever had, and that alone will make the place worth a return trip for me! Delicious!
The restaurant was small and cozy... it was not terribly busy when we were there... if there was ever a large crowd, I would say there'd be a long wait for a table. The decor was really cute... I especially liked how they made the hallway with the bathrooms look like a mine shaft! ;)
All in all, happy with the meal, and will DEFINITELY be going back!

My husband grew up in New Mexico, spending a good 30ish years there, and I lived there several years myself. He is always trying to find a place that serves good New Mexican style food. When we recently moved into the area and saw La Ultima advertising that it had authentic New Mexican food, we were excited and decided to give it a try.
It is not, I repeat, not New Mexican! Certainly not like the food we've eaten in New Mexico (ala Guardinio's or any of the local places in Santa Fe and Albuquerue, or the food my hubby's grandma used to make!). My husband said his dinner was passable, but that's about all. I ordered the carne adovada, which I am accustomed to being served as pieces of pork cooked in a spicey chile sauce. What I received was a pork chop (and a *bad* [and I mean BAD] one, at that) marinated in something that might pass for spicey to someone, but it sure didn't for me.
On the upside, the wait staff (though not the host) was quite friendly and the table was well serviced, but that's about the only good thing I can say about the experience.

We had an electrician from Handyman Connection out several months ago to install some lighting in our house. We really couldn't be happier with the work. He was able to do everything we wanted, which was quite a bit, in one day. He was very professional, friendly, and left very little clean up work for us to do afterwards! We thought the price was very affordable too, less than we had been expecting. If all their professionals are like our electrician was, then I can gurantee you a pleasant experience!
When you call, the operators who schedule your appointments are always friendly and helpful, as well, which is always a plus! :)

While I have never been a big fan of Best Buy, my poor review of them has more to do with the building, and not the products, service, etc.
Simply put, the store *stinks*. Horribly. I'm not sure if it's the glue they used to put their carpet down or what, but there is a horrible chemical smell in this place, and every time I go in, I get a headache and feel sick within about 5 minutes. I feel SO sorry for the people who work there.
I have been in another Best Buy that had this problem as well. I'm not sure what the deal is, but the company really needs to figure out what is causing this problem and correct it.
The North Academy store is not like this, and I usually go to that store now, if I find myself in need of stopping at a Best Buy... I usually avoid the chain as much as I can, though. I have never been all that impressed with their customer service, and it seems like you always spend a good amount of time waiting in line - no matter what location you're at. I recommend Circuit City instead.

I grew up in the Northern Kentucky area, and i have sooo many fond memories of visiting Kings Island. It is a GREAT park to go to if you like thrill rides, ESPECIALLY roller coasters.
You have the classic BEAST roller coaster... a wooden giant... and though I'm sure it's probably been beat by other woodies in height and speed and all that - this is just a classic, and you can't beat it for fun value!
There are other great coasters in the park, too... Face/Off, the King Cobra, Vortex, Outer Limits, Son of Beast (the world's first looping woodie!), the Racer... and I'm quite sure I'm likely forgetting some...
In addition to thrill rides, there are also your typical park rides that are fun for the whole family. For kids they have a whole area all their own, based on Nickelodeon characters and themes.
There's plenty of places to eat - including yummy Cincinnati La Rosa's Pizza!!!
It's been awhile since I've been... in the past few years, it seemed like the ticket prices kept going up and up - but this year, it looks like they've actually gone *down*!
My only complaint about the park would be the crowds. I can remember waiting 2 or 3 hours in line to ride a roller coaster... 45 minutes or an hour for something like the Octopus or the swings... This can really detract from the fun you're able to fit into your day. I'd definitely advise going on a weekday if you go... I would expect the crowds to be less then.

I cannot say enough good things about the Las Vegas Hilton! My husband and I have been through many of the Vegas hotels, and I would recommend the Hilton, hands down!
For starters, the walk from the parking garage to the hotel rooms isn't that bad. This may sound like an odd thing to say, but if you have been to some of the casinos in Vegas - you know what I'm talking about. Some of them are RIDICULOUSLY large... to the point of being a real pain in the behind! The Hilton is a nice size, with several small shops and such, but it's easy to make your way across it.
When you enter the hotel from the front... the hotel is simply beautiful. There is a casino called the crystal casino, with large crystal chandeliers hanging overhead... marble floors... it looks very posh, very expensive. For someone like me, this was a big deal. We never stay in fancy, pricey hotels... and this place just made me feel special.
The room we were in was nice - nothing terribly fancy - but very nice. I think hey are in the process of renovating everything, and the room we were in was an old one. I'd very much like to see the newly renovated rooms!
In addition to the Crystal Casino, there is also an AWESOME Sports book with lots of video poker, and the Space Quest casino... this is adjacent to their Star Trek attraction, and has a very spacey feel.
The buffet is moderately priced, and while it doesn't have the quantity of some of the Vegas buffets, it is quality food.
My husband and I had a nice time playing video poker in the Sports book at night... there was no sports betting going on, so it was very dark and quiet back there. Out in the Crystal Casino, their cabaret was playing really peppy dance music (stuff like ABBA and the BeeGees), and the atmosphere was just one of FUN.
We were able to get a travel package via America West - we paid about $700 for two airfares and 4 nights hotel - I'd say we got a GREAT deal! Next time we were in Vegas, we will DEFINITELY be staying at the Hilton again, and I would recommend it to everyone I know!

There are two (to my knowledge) Hofbrauhaus's in the US... I've been to both and am posting reviews on both. To me, the Hofbrauhaus in Las Vegas doesn't hold a candle to the one in Newport, KY.
For starters, we were seated in the main room, where a VERY LOUD German band started playing shortly after we sat down. They didn't offer us an option of being seated away from this. And while I understand it is part of the experience, it was honestly so loud that it kept my food from digesting properly and made me ill...
The food was, at best, ok. It just didn;t measure up to the amazing quality I saw at the other Hofbrauhaus location. As far as German food in general, I would call it average.
My husband did try some of their own beer... and he said that was very good..
Overall, though, I really was quite disappointed. My husband had not been to the Hofbrauhaus in Kentucky as I had... and I kept telling him what a treat we were in for... and it ended up being a rather big letdown :/
