I have given the 501 Diner two fair shakes at getting me to like it. I ADORE diners - the food, the decor, the fun... But 501 just doesn't have it. I believe a large part of the problem is the dead flies they allow to collect at their windows. I'm sorry, but that is just gross. The food would have to be incredible to make up for that, and it just isn't. It's mediocre. more

Wonderful Food! 8/12/2005

The food here is surprisingly wonderful! I honestly did not expect too much from a diner, however the food was fabulous! The meals offered are not typical diner food, but crab cakes and steaks instead. The chef actually came out to our table to make sure that we enjoyed our meals. I highly recommend. more

501 Diner fun for all ages! 5/17/2005

The 501 diner is a fun place for all ages! The atmosphere is very nostalgic--looks just like a 50s diner. The menu is typical of a diner--lots of salad and sandwich options. They offer a blue plate special which changes daily. We recommend the blue plate special as it is always terrific. The fish and chips are especially good! Meals are moderately priced -- you can expect to pay $5-6 per person. Expect a long wait on sundays as they are famous for their all-day brunch menu. The service is excellent. Always prompt with a courteous wait staff. It may look a little different on the outside, but 501 diner is awesome on the inside. Check it out...great for kids! more
