Horrible Experience\r My sister was a member of 24 hour fitness. She suspended her service in October due to an injury to her upper body that stopped her from being able to work out. They suspended the account immediately. She ended up having surgery in the end of December and she called and cancelled her services in January due to her recovery time being extended 4 months. Only her account was never suspended and she was charged over $120 worth of charges. No problem I told her to contact the manager and explain the situation and send him the surgery information including the doctors note as proof so you can get your money back. She called and spoke to Nick (the club manager) and he basically told her sorry to hear that but there was no way to know if she did call in because there wasn't any notes in system. I got on the phone and asked him why can't he credit her if she called in December (see I made a mistake and said December when she actually called in January) then he latched on to that accusing us of lying saying which one called and was it December or January. I told him that I made a mistake saying December because that is when she had to have surgery but nope he had another reason to say no. He called us liars and refused to even take the documentation to show that we are not lying. I asked for corporates number and he advised me that they won't do anything. In the end he said he cancelled her account on the phone (which is what the other person told her in January but I guess I should trust them now). \r \r To say that this is grossly poor customer services is an understatement and to Nick, the club manager, you have not heard the last of me. No ones steals from my sister and thinks that is the end of it. I will find every website that reviews your business and post this review there. I am sending a formal complaint to your corporate office and calling them, repeatedly reminding them of the horrible treatment that me (who could have been a potential client) and my sister (who could have used the services once she healed). \r \r With so many gyms competing for peoples business you would think that they would practice good courteous customer service to keep brand loyalty. \r \r So disgustedly disappointed in the entire experience. more

BAD experience!\r I just moved down here and try to look for the gym. I check out this gym on line and get the pass. First, the lady check me in is quite friendly, i do enjoy work out, except the locker room area that quite dirty and smell urine in the restroom. When i finish, the man (fitness couselor, very tall man with bald hair) gives me a hard time and quite turns me off. He told me i am not supposed to use the gym becase my driver license from other city? how can i change my ID right away while i just move down here n a short period, then he took away the pass, he then pushes me to join the gym right away ""no need the ID"" \r I did not join the gym becaue his attitude, later on the same day, i did check out "" THE GYM IN DOWNTOWN"" thaT is quite surprises me in a GOOD WAYwith the professionalism and how new and beautiful the gym is. I did signed up. Check it out, Guys, i only pay half of price as the sodo charges! and IT IS 24 HOURS GYM TOO\r Once again, i am professional and i did mention to him i work nearby more

Best gym in Orlando by far!!!! 10/8/2010

I will keep this simple. Amazing how clean it is. Friendly staff. Free towel service. Brand new great equipment that never seems to be broken. Best gym for the money by far. No contract. No 30 day cancellation period like my last gym. A+ rating through the Better Business Bureau. (Rare for any gym to have this and the only one in Orlando that does. My trainer is awesome!! I have been exercising in gyms for over 20 years and am new to 24 Hour Fitness. I know they have been around for a long time just not where I have lived. It is bar far the best all around gym I have ever been a member of and I am surprised at how inexpensive it is! more

Open 24hrs, Shaq Sig Club, Friendly 1/25/2010

I moved from Hawaii to Orlando last year and found that there's only ONE 24hr Fitness in all of Orlando, that was a bummer since this one is at least a half hr from where I live. I've been told they plan to open 1-2 more Super Sport/Sig Clubs in the area. I had an All Sport Club membership because that's all we have in HI, so I have to pay $10 more per mo to go here. This is a ""Shaquille O’Neal Signature Club"" so it has a little more than the basic Sport Clubs (swimming pool, of course huge basketball area, a spinning room, etc); Parking is free & I've never had to wait for a machine, I've gone on weekends & weekdays, day or night, & never had the problem the other commenter had w/lighting. I am 5'7 and my husband is 5'11 and again no problems w/both machines & free weights. I see people cleaning all the time both the machines & bathrooms; maybe the other person didn't see people cleaning constantly because they were going in the middle of the night. They provide towels which is great, they provide hand sanitizer and paper towels & cleaner to clean up after yourself or after someone else if you need or want to. BTW I don't work for these guys - I just wanted to comment on the other person who said they saw it as a ""meat head gym"" - I'm not on steroids and I see beautiful people of all ages (18-80 w/walkers & w/c), sizes/shapes, cultures. It is definitely NOT a meat gym - every single time I've been there and that's been at least 3x a week for almost a year - I have never been intimidated or felt out of place with overdeveloped bodies. I'm a very average person who works out to improve my health. I think the person writing the other commentary was disappointed that they couldn't get a refund and that's not right, I understand as I had paid in full large amts of money to two gyms back home and they closed - along with my membership - this is why I bought my membership with 24 HR - in hopes that if I were to move/travel I could workout wherever I am - now I only pay about $50/yr + $10/mo as long as I use this upgraded gym. All in all - i'm pretty satisfied; I wish the Kid's Club was open longer hours, but it's nice, safe, clean, and cheap for 2 hrs of child care. Target & shopping is nearby, which is a huge plus because I can do my grocery shopping after. The downside is that this bldg is surrounded by fast food when you drive out of the parking structure so bring food to munch on right after so you're not tempted. I'm going for a workout now! Pros: Bright, clean, Open 24hr, Kid's Club, Free Parking, Towels Cons: Like warmer pool & shower areas during freezing temps more

Be wary, it will cost more than you think. 12/3/2009

I signed up here because the gym I had been a membership at for two years wasn't opened late enough on weekends. When I was unable to go to the gym at all on weekends and missed my previous, better lit gym with much nicer people I decided I wanted to cancel. I canceled on December 03, 2009. They are forcing me to be a member until February 25, 2009 and of course billing me for a gym I don't want to go to. There wwere several reason I preferred my previous gym to this one, while this gym is open 24 hours, the weight benches are too high for someone shorter than 5'8"" to lift off safely without a spotter. It is dimly lit. It is a meat head gym, steroid use is clearly rampant even compared to other gyms I have been to. No one wipes their machines off so its gross. (After attending the gym every day for a week I got sick for the first time in two years) They also told me I could cancel with a 30 day afterward membership which i was comfortable with. Obviously this is not true. This is a shady gym and there are better in the area. Pros: Open 24 hours Cons: Horrible cancellation policy more
