What I can only imagine is the best bridal boutique in Chicago, ah, White Chicago. From the moment we entered the subterranean, clean modern showroom we were completely delighted. All glass and white lacquer, and complete with a place for your shoes and a selection of fresh white socks. My entourage and I called ahead and asked if we could celebrate with some bubbly. Not only was the woman on the phone courteous, but she invited us to come early and enjoy one of their private lounges while we toast. We popped the cork and toasted and began dress shopping the way it was meant to be. While sitting on the white modern sofa, in the all white room, I handed out small cards to each of my best friends asking them to be my bridesmaids, ""check yes or no."" It was so adorable. I have a picture of each carefully checking yes. Then myself and a few of the ladies were invited back to their gallery to take a look at their selection of new samples, and once wed dresses. The selection was fresh and designer, and most of all gorgeous. Even my ring left happier after a fresh cleaning! Pros: Amazing service, dream experience Cons: Limited Selection, but who cares? more

The saleswoman even suggested I show off the ones I didn't love, so that my friends could at least see them. She understood that it was all about the experience, not just the dress. Each gown had things to love and like. But in the end, it was the last one that won my heart. I had actually seen it on the bride before me as she pranced down the catwalk in it. I can't imagine what she thought when we all pointed and screamed, that's the dress! Thank you White Chicago for such an amazing, and perfect experience! On the positive side, the place looks chic. (If you like IKEA style) That's about all the positiveness I can share. First, getting an appointment was extremely hard. They don't answer the phone very often. I arrived for my appointment with two friends. The first thing they made us all do was wash our hands. Rather than asking us to wash our hands, it sounded like an army order. OK, that should prevent stains on dresses. I do not know why the dress I ended up liking most still had plenty of stains on it. Next we were taken to the back of the store to pick the dresses we liked. Kyra, my assistant, left my friends & I alone in the room full of dresses and did not help us pick anything. OK, off to the fitting room. Kyra asked me a couple of questions about my engagement and clearly was not at all interested in hearing the answers. After a couple of dresses that I liked I asked Kyra if she can recommend me any other dresses to try on, now that she should have had an idea of what I like. The answer was a clear no. Can't recommend. I asked her about alterations for a specific dress, she had no idea what the specific changes I asked about would have cost. Typical alterations are at $500, that's all she offered. Towards the end of that hour we had with her my friends went to the back room to try to find some more dresses for me (since Kyra could not assist in this). At this point Kyra told me my time is up and I could maybe try on one more dress and that's it. Overall, my experience at white chicago made me feel stressed and unhappy rather than excited about my wedding. Maybe other assistants there are different, but I would strongly advice you to avoid Kyra if you can. Some of their dresses looked good, but having a borderline rude assistant "helping" you takes the beauty out of any dress. Cons: Rude customer service more

I was blown away!!!! First of all, the space is beautiful, clean, modern and spacious. Stacey held me throughout the process and she couldn't have been more kind, patient and professional. White Chicago take impeccible care of their dresses - wearing white gloves, having you step into the gowns so make-up doesn't transfer, hanging the gowns up immediately and putting in the garment bags after being tried on, as to preserve the gowns. I didn't have ""the gown"" in mind....but I did know what I didn't want. I was able to look through their entire collection of dress to choose options. I tried on styles all across the board to see what look good on my body. It was a wonderful experience. My budget was $2,000-2,500 and I found many, many beautiful dresses at this price range. My friends that got married 8-12 years ago can't believe a store like this exists!!! Nothing like this was around when they got married. Thank you White Chicago!! After reading the reviews of this store on Citysearch and Weddingbee, I was so excited for my appointment but slightly nervous that I wouldn't have as good of an experience as some of the reviewers. However, I had no reason to be nervous as my experience couldn't have been better and I'd recommend this store to anyone. A couple of things that I think made my experience great: 1) They let you go in and browse their collection without an appointment. My appointment was on a Saturday morning, so the previous Thursday night after work I went in to see what they had. Stacy (one of the co-owners) was so nice to me, explained everything, and let me take as much time as I wanted to look at things. This was SO helpful because when I arrived with my sisters on Saturday I already knew what aisles had dresses that I liked. 2) The salesperson that I worked with during my appointment was Kyra and she was fantastic. She was incredibly sweet and kind, not pushy, and answered any and every question that I had. As a follow up she sent me a thank-you email and a fitting timeline the week after I purchased my dress. I would definitely request her - she's GREAT! 3) They let you take pictures of the dresses so you can go home and think about it! 5) They really handle the gowns with care. Everyone is required to wash their hands before touching the dresses and the salespeople wear white gloves when helping you try them on. If a dress is going over your head, you even put a mask on to ensure that your makeup doesn't get on the dress. 4) It is an amazing place for someone who wants a designer dress without a designer price. I ended up buying a Romona Keveza sample gown for $2350 (originally $3500!) I never, ever though I'd be able to wear something so beautiful on my wedding day because of the cost but White Chicago makes it possible! I was blown away by the modern white-out decor and friendliness of the owner, Ursula. I had already visited countless wedding boutiques in search for my perfect gown. Hands down, White Chicago was the best shopping experience. Although I did not find a gown that day (I feel I should mention they were only open a few months back then and didn't have near as many dresses as they do now), I felt like a VIP! They showered me and my two friends with luxury. It was the little details that made the difference. Ursula cleaned all of our rings, provided us with drinks, and gave me one-on-on attention. I didn't have to dig through rows of gowns. I explained to Ursula what I was looking for and she brought the gowns to me. I felt so special and beautiful strutting down their custom runway to show each dress to my friends. When you're on the runway, you get a chance to move around in the dress and see it from several angles, which you don't get to do in other crowded boutiques. I did end up consigning my dress at White Chicago after my wedding. I met with owner, Stacy, at that encounter and she made the process easy and painless. A few months later, I got an email that my dress sold and a check in the mail. I think it's a great option for brides like me who don't want to worry about storing their dress for the rest of their lives and also want to help another bride who has similar taste. Also, they split the profits 50/50, so I made money back on a dress I'll never be able to wear again. What a deal! I wish more businesses operated with the care and passion as White Chicago. I recommend this business to all brides, especially those with the MOST discerning tastes.
