Review content:
After dining at Sapristi over the last 2 years, I am saddened to say that I've dined here for the last time. Not only has the quality of food gone down, but the service has declined so greatly, I am surprised anything gets done at this restaurant...\r
I took my wife, Father-In-Law, and Sister-In-Law there this past Saturday night and we left after the appetizer and went to Taverna in down town. We were treated rudely from the moment we arrived.\r
We ordered wine and the famous Mussels at Sapristi as an appetizer, and I was shocked at the size and flavor of them. In the past I've bragged about how great the Mussels were here but after searching through about 10 shells, I could not find any worth eating. All were about the size of a pinkie nail. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! The crab cake was a frozen hockey puck and looked like something you could buy in bulk at SAMs Club. Very bland flavor and a poor execution of a classic appetizer.\r
\r
I am absolutely floored with how badly we were treated and how bad the food has become. Like I said, I called the manager at Taverna at 7:45pm and told her about how we were being treated at Sapristi, and she had a table ready for us at 8:30pm. We closed out our tab at Sapristi and headed downtown to a PACKED Taverna... (Which was a great decision. The Mussels at Taverna were about 10 times the size and were 100 times better than Sapristi's.)\r
I love to go out to dinner and have eaten in some of the best restaurants in DFW. I don't mind spending $200 for dinner when the service and food is excellent.\r
My family and I will never eat at Sapristi again!!!! What a waste of money!! Their wine list is overrated at best, and the pretentious staff needs an attitude adjustment. Remember, you work for tips and having a job in America is a luxury. \r
My advise is to go down town and experience a much better meal and much better service.\r
What a bummer!!!!! \r
Manager Jenny, Chef, and the rest of your staff should be ashamed of yourselves!!!!
