Review content:
I walked in for my haircut yesterday with Shear Genius star Nicole Obert. The staff was friendly and treat you like a star. Showing you to a dressing room and trading your overcoat for a robe.
Then I was met by Nicole who shampoo'd my hair, incredibly. The water temperature was perfect and she massaged my head in a way that had me completely relaxed. I didn't want it to end!
We then moved to the chair and talked about my haircut. I used to model in hair shows around the country and know how to recognize a good stylist. And I know that a good stylist needs to know what will look good on YOU, not just what is trendy. Her job is to make you look YOUR best. Not do some crazy cut on you because you are an art project.
She talked to me about cutting my hair slightly shorter then I was used to, to bring out my eyes. She also explained to me what my hair wouldn't do. She told me to go too short would be a mistake because of the growth pattern of my hair, once cut too short that it would stick straight up.
A stylist needs to be able to take in so much, what looks good on you, what your hair is capable of looking like, have the skills to accomplish that vision, and then teach you to pull of that look everyday on your own. I hate after I get a haircut and walk out loving it. Only to never be able to achieve that look until the next visit. That's not the case here!
After we were done with my kickass haircut, we walked over to the product case where she explained everything to me and gave me samples of the product. And what to expect from each. So that way I know which one I want to come back and buy. It stinks to spend $20 on a product only to find it doesn't work for you the way you thought it would.
I left feeling good and love my haircut. I went out that night and got tons of compliments on my ""Short"" cut. What can I say? I trust my stylist!
Pros: Nicole, service, head massage
Cons: my hair not growing faster
