Review content:
Gladstone's used to be a great place, active and friendly since I first discovered the place, twenty years ago. Nowdays, something happened and Gladstones is becoming terrible. You are met by a peanut brained blonde as friendly as a prison guard who announces you a huge waiting time (20 to 45 minutes) although most tables on the deck are unoccupied. At Gladstone's, the deck is the nicest place and some years ago the main attraction was the wale watch, proudly announced on a blackboard. It seems today that the deck is boycotted and you are vigourously incited to eat inside. Gladstone seafood used to be superb (in the old times) and beeing on the deck and enjoying the oceanview was as important. If you are lucky enough to be seated (I had to come back twice to get a seat outside on weekdays - I dont imagine what it can be on Sundays!) you have to deal with the service. Gladstone's service is long, it'srude, the food comes ranomdly -with a stone faced waiter- and drinks sometimes never come. Where are gone the ever smiling student like waitresses and waiters that made so nice the time you spend on the "catwalk" (now closed)? The food is nothing but average, no more to say - in all cases, it's not worth the price. The management which may have changed (or would it be the owner?) does not seem to realize, -even when you try to complain for such a bad treatment-, but when you see lots of empty seats and waitresses chatting instead of working, waiters disappearing during the service, no smiles and hours waiting time alotgether, somebody should worry. Are the good old days gone? Is Gladstones already dead? Pros: superb ocean view & efficient parking Cons: unfriendly and non-efficient service, unfriendly welcome, high-priced average food
