Well, today is Paczki day!! I have been getting my paczki from GPB for well
over a decade. WHAT A DISAPPONTMENT I HAVE HAD TODAY!! Apparently
there is a new manager now and they do not open until 7:00 a.m. Unheard
of for a Polish Bakery on Paczki Day. None of us regulars were ever notified of this change. We have always been able to pick up our paczki by 5:30 a.m. or 6:00 a.m. at the latest. They never bothered\
to inform me of this big change when I called my order in. While I sat in front of
the bakery, from 5:30 a.m., until I was able to pick up my paczki by 6:45
approximately 10 of the regular customers who call orders in left. Between
myself and 4 of these regulars, there is $500 worth of business. I was the
only idiot who stayed to pick up my order. While sitting there waiting for them to
open, 10 vehicles pulled up and waited for 10 minutes and then left.
I had ordered 6 dozen assorted paczki, each dozen to be assorted, as I do
every year. Well, when I walked in, they were not packed and I had to wait
for the employee to pack them, and what did they do, the put one dozen
blueberry in one box, a dozen cherry in another. So, instead of delivering
these paczki to my family, my place of employment and my husband's
place of employment, I had to go home and separate everything first. They also
gave me mostly strawberry and not equal amounts of the different flavors,,when I had said assorted.
Now the quality of the product has deteriorated. The paczki were of all different
sizes. I mean one paczki was the size of a child's fist and another was the size
of an elephant ear. I had ordered the fresh fruit fillings, as usual, and some
of the paczki had only the juice of the fruit but no fruit. The fruit was spilled
all over the paczki, they looked like some one just took a spoon and dumped
the fillings in on and around the paczki.
I asked to speak to the manager, and she would never come out of the back
saying she was too busy preparing the paczki.
