When we were planning our Hawaiian honeymoon, the one thing my husband (then fiance) insisted on was getting to see a luau.
Based on the recommendations from posters on a wedding website, I went with seats at the Old Lahaina Luau. I did not go wrong! I booked online well in advance of our honeymoon (a great tip, so you get prime seating). We were in mat seats closest to the stage. This luau is the oldest on Maui and the most authentic. The food was delicious. We were there on a hot day; the staff greeted us with Mai Tai's and some non-alcoholic juice drinks as we waited on line to get in.
Pricey? Yes. But the Old Lahaina Luau is one of the best memories of our Maui trip. The workers we spoke with are so passionate about their jobs -- many of them have had hula lessons since early in their childhood. This was a great taste of old Hawaii.
