An unlikely hotspot is Red Star Tavern, located in Virginia Beach's towncenter. Many locals go here to have a few drinks at the bar and socialize. The food on the menu is in the same range as an Outback Steakhouse with the same tasting food. The only thing lacking maybe is you do not get bread like at Outback. Red Star offers daily specials so depending on the day of the week you come in a special may be in store for you. The experience is very up beat, with young management and young people running the place. I would recommend for any type of outing from family to a date.
