I had Intralase (bladeless) done at Manhattan Lasik and was super happy I got it done!! Definitely one of the best decisions I made in my life. Being able to see in the morning and not having to deal w glasses, contacts, dry eyes and migranes at the end of the day for the majority of my adult life, is worth a few thousand dollars. If your company offers flex spending, then there's even more savings and the cost of lasik would definitely outweigh the cost of glasses and contacts over time.\r \r I had such a great experience at Manhattan Lasik that after reading some of the comments below, I really have to give my two cents. After all, people who had a great experience tell 3 others whereas people who have a negative experience tell 10 people. So if you read some reviews below that may sound off putting, it's simply because statistically, people who are disappointed (which are the minority) are more vocal than those that are satisfied.\r \r 1) Facility: The location at 55th & Park Ave in Manhattan is meticulous. The office is extremely clean, modern and professional and all surgeries are done here. They have the best machines and it's really comforting to know that your eyes are in great hands.\r \r 2) Staff: From the doctors, assistants, receptionists to their financial guys (speak to Thai), everyone here is really friendly. \r \r 3) Service: my wait for a consultant to surgery to follow up visit was never more than 15min.\r \r 4) Quality: I had the surgery done in late afternoon, slept and had 20/20 the very next day. Quick recovery for me and no side effects. Lasik has been around for 15-20years now, the technology has improved so much that it is 99% accurate. You can definitely still see after surgery but it is a good idea to have someone escort you home.\r \r There are a lot of people who come here, but I don't get why that is a bad thing as some others have commented here. Manhattan Lasik gets a lot of their business through referrals so they must be doing right by their existing customers if they are always busy. Would you prefer to eat at a restaurant that is frequented by a lot of people or at a restaurant with nobody in it? They also have a lot of locations throughout NYC so that is also a good sign that customers are happy and business is booming. \r \r Life is short, so if you are thinking about lasik, the faster you go in for your consultation, the closer you'll get to perfect vision. more
