Karl;
On January, 2012 , I was walking around my little half acre when I noticed a wet spot in my leaching beds. Also when ever the sump pump ran or someone flushed the toilet , water would bubble up from the septic tank access cover . I raised the cover and saw a thick layer of slugge clear up to the top of the tank . I went in to the computor and typed in "aerator". An interesting ad came up telling about the AERO-STREAM septic tank aerator with an 800 number . I called the number and had an interesting talk with the factory representative. I ordered the AEROSTREAM , received it and installed Febuary 23, 2012. I am 86 years old and did the installation myself . It was relatively easy . I drilled a hole in the tank cover for the tubing , set the unit on the patio floor and plugged it in the patio electrical outlet . The first day or so the tank had vigorous "boil" and white fluffy foem drifted out across my yard from the edges of the tank cover . Also there was a slight septic odor for a day but that did not last very long . After about a month the wet spot was gone and the tank did not bubble when flushing of toilet or sump pump running . I went out this morning , Aug.22,2012 and raised the septic tank lid and took a look. WOW , the slugge is gone and the tank is only half full .The liquid is being circulated by the aerator. No odor .
Karl , if you are ever in our neiborhood , please stop in and I will show you a defective septic tank and leaching bed that has been restored to like new operation
