I told Empire (Big Apple TV Repair )my TV turned bright green then went normal, then no picture but the sound worked. At my home George wanted $70 and told me the $70 would come off the $349 to fix my problem set. I agreed. He assured me the TV could be fixed but he had to get a part in Florida. After a week I had to call him because he doesnt bother calling. He returned to my home and warned me that he put the part in (DC/DV converter) but the board wasnt reacting correctly. He powered on my TV and I can smell something burning. He said it wasnt burning it was overheating and it was a spray he used it wasnt burning. Yeah right. To make a long story short he told me he couldnt find a refurbished D- Board that I needed and he was ready to give up on repairing my TV.. I requested my $70.00 back since our agreement was $349 for him to complete the job and fix my TV. He backed out of the deal not me. Why should I pay him $70 for visiting me at my home. I could have had anyone visit me the result was the same, unrepaired TV. They later wanted to get me a new D- Board but not for the prior agreed upon price, they wanted more money. There is no reason to pay anyone for a promise, I will only pay for results. DONT PAY ANYONE UP FRONT. THERE ARE REPAIR PEOPLE THAT DO NOT CHARGE FOR HOME VISITS. ONCE YOU SEE THEY REPAIRED THE TV, THEN YOU PAY! WHY DOESNT BIG APPLE TV REPAIR HAVE AN ADDRESS ON THEIR BILL? DONT DO BUSINESS WITH ANYONE THAT WILL NOT GIVE YOU AN ADDRESS. There are many service businesses that do not charge if they do not complete the job requested. Big apple can just make house calls and iive on $70 without repairing a single TV. Two years ago I had the same TV repaired, they picked up the entire chassis and returned the following day with a repaired TV. Big Apple took two weeks and they repaired nothing.
