The Greatest Hospitality in Cleveland 9/20/2009

Made my 7th visit to Cleveland for two weeks beginning July 19, 2009. Was on a budget this time. Found this place on the internet, then discovered that it is listed in The Cleveland Clinic visitor's guide. My wife Betsey was there for aortic valve replacement. We got the nice front room on the fourth floor. It was very lovely.\r \r Betsey stated that it reminded her of a cross between her grandmother's house and her college dorm (!). The free breakfast and the free use of the laundry facilities was certainly helpful, along with pricing that was 80% lower than the Intercontinental were lifesaving.\r \r Robin, the Innkeeper, drove us to our dinner house the first night, and he gave us a great tour of Cleveland on the way. Then he drove us to the Clinic a few days later for Betsey to check in for her surgery.\r \r That all happened two months ago. Betsey is now well along in her recuperation, and we are planning a return trip for the week after Christmas 2009. She will meet with her cardiologist for a progress checkup. We already have box seat tickets for the Cleveland Orchestra in Severance Hall for New Year's eve. As you may have guessed, we are returning to the Brownstone. Pros: Great Innkeeper; Low Pricing; House has Loads of Character. Cons: No shoe shine boy on the premises. more
