Prive is a well-run establishment. Considering the celebrity clientele and high prices, the staff was very friendly and down to earth. I've been to the Madison Avenue Salons (John Barrett, Fekkai) and found their staff to be snobby and pretentious. At Prive, the stylist introduced herself, looked at the texture/cut of my hair, provided me with a few recommendations, then waited for my approval before going to work on my new look. It was exactly what she described and precisely what I expected. There's not much more a person can hope for when it comes to a good haircut (except lower prices).
Pros: experienced stylists, location, friendly service
Cons: price, price, price
