Sitting in the waiting room as a new patient, I quickly became turned off by the staff at the Institute for Athletic Medicine. Instead of billing patients, they demand payment for services immediately. I am not talking about copayments I am talking about what they estimate your insurance will not pay. Forget about any form of politeness or courtesy, simply its our policy. Since it was 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment (first of the morning mind you), and I hadn't even met Dr. Perkins yet and was already being told I owed money, I decided to go elsewhere. Dr Perkins may be great, but first impressions are everything and I felt this was headed down a dark road. more
