Best of the best 10/5/2011

I cant say enough about how much I enjoyed myself here. I was invited to a party with some friends here. I was taken aback by having to take of my shoes to go upstairs but it all became MORE than worth it. The food was incredible and the server...""JJ"" was the best waitress bar none that I have had in my life. What a fun place. WE ate great and then we drank great withe owner ""Debbie"" who came up to visit us. Then we Karaoke the nite away.. Not a huge fan of that UNTIL now..it was huge fun. Go as soon as you can.. you wont be sorry more

Whenever I am in the mood for Japanese food or Sushi I always want it to be Yokohama. The food is amazing. Ive been a regular customer since it opened. I admit I enjoy it so much more now that it is owned by the Sushi chef more

Great Place Nice People 7/5/2011

I had a great meal at this place with two of my friends today. It was a little more than I would normally pay for a sushi meal but it was really worth it to all of us. The people who own the place (I guess just for the last few months) were great . The waitress JJ was funny and very good at her job. The food well that more

Indys Best Sushi AND Japanese Food 7/1/2011

My boyfriend took me to Yokohama in Greenwood yesterday and it was great. I had two of the signature rolls. One was called a Volcano that came in a triangular shaped aluminum foil wrap and had been heated so that the oil inside gave off an incredible food fragrance that made me even more anxious to try it than I had been told to expect by my BF. We also ordered a Godzilla. And it was delicious to. It was presented on a plate with a beautiful flower and a flashing light. I enjoyed the looks of my food and the fun almost as much as the taste and that more

Great Time 5/18/2011

My husband and I were told about this place by friends. They said that it had new owners and that the food was great. I will tell you now these are my new BEST friends. This restaurant had the freshest and best sushi I have had in my entire life. Better yet it had food that my husband enjoyed to...He is a meat and potatos man. The owners talked him into trying sushi and explained that not ALL sushi was raw fish (which ive told him a thousand times) but he tried it and now he wants to go back and try everything (one at a time) thats on a huge menu. We had a great time and the owners were just as great as my friends said they would be. Go as quickly as you can...you wont be sorry... more

Great Place...NOW 5/18/2011

Ive been hearing about this place now for almost three month from all my friends. I have laughed at them as if they were cult members the enthusiasm was almost ridiculous. Now that Ive eaten there they have a new recruit for their cult following. The owners bought the place a few months ago and took it over from someone apparently not well liked by most customers...mostly my friends. The food however has always been great so ive been told. Anyway. the food NOW is incredible. My wife ate from the kitchen menu and had something they just added called a ""sizzling yaki udon"" plate.. It came out on a sizzling plate similar to the ones you see at most mexican restaurants for fajitas. Yes, it was SIZZLING...and it was delicious. It comes in choices of beef, chicken or shrimp.. My wife asked and they included a combo and added scallops...I had two of their house signature rolls ..one callled a volcano and one thats named after the sushi chef (and new owner) a ""Debbie"" roill...they bother were amazing...everything here is fresh and so many things are homemade. The salad dressing and gyoza and especially the spring rolls...WOW. Ive had become a die hard fan of this place. The owners have a policy that every customer is like family and they dont just say it they seem to live it.. Ive never felt so comfortable so quickly. Friendly beyond belief. They do get busy there and sometimes the sushi is a little slow getting there. The atmosphere and the food itself makes up for any wait. I thought the prices were a little high...but after the experience...and seein some of what they go through to keep the quality up...its worth every cent.. Ill pay the litt;le extra...to have the GREAT extra.... highly recommend this place...nope...challenge you NOT to enjoy yourself here... more

Great Great Time 5/1/2011

I heard this place had new owners and that I should get over there quick. My friend was right. I love sushi and I found out that the chef is also the new owner. This woman cracks me up..She is cute and friendly beyond words. Her husband is also there and the banter between the two with the wife always winning was like a floorshow i didnt have to pay for Funny and so friendly I was in on the whole thing. I found myself enjoying the night so much I forgot to leave when my meal was over. The FOOD ...OMG..this is the BEST part the sushi is UNBELEIVABLE.. and the teriyaki chicken I ordered from the kitchen made it easy to wait for my sushi. The place was packed. Seems it almost always is now on the weekends...they still hoping the weekdays pickup...I know they will when the word on this place gets out. Anyway..the service was also great. The family owned place ROCKED...highly recommend it...I...WILL be there as often as i can be.. more

Greatly improved! 2/16/2011

Things have luckily changed since the last time I came here. There is a new lady owner that is extremely friendly and polite. Plenty of waitresses running around on busy Fridays and Saturdays to ensure good timely service. My food was ordered and received in a timely fashion regardless of the place being completely packed. I recommend this place to anyone that has never tried great quality sushi (far beyond what buffets can offer). I am very happy with what this place has become and I will surely start coming more regularly. more

Worst ever 6/2/2010

We attempted to dine at this restaurant this evening, but eventually we were denied service. It was my first time at the establishment, and I won't be returning. We (my 1.5 yr old son and I) arrived at the restaurant around 5:30 to dine with my friend and her 8 year old son. My friend had dined there before and liked the food. She and her son had a high chair for my son and an appetizer on the way for them by the time we arrived. There were NO other patrons in the restaurant. After we sat down and received a glass of water and my friend received her appetizer the very nice older woman and the younger woman suggested we move to the booth behind us. So, we moved. 5 minutes later, the rude younger woman came up to our table. She asked that we order because they had a reservation arriving in about 45 minutes. I began to order and she interrupted me and said they did not have anything but sushi available (even though they had given me the entire menu to order off of). I sat for a second confused and she went on to remind us of the reservation and that maybe we would prefer to go to House of Tokyo. So my friend paid for her appetizer and we left, dumbfounded. I decided I should of said something to the woman for her rudeness and so I called her once I arrived at our new locale, Kuboto. That is when she informed me that I was a horrible mother and that my son was terrible child. I told her she did a horrible job running a restaurant if this is how she treats her customers. Throughout our very nice dinner at Kuboto I had my friend reassure me many times that I had not done something wrong in my parenting and that my son had not behaved in some terrible way. She assured me that, no, we were not horrible or terrible and she was as confused as I was. To top it all off, my friend informed me later that she and her son had diarrhea later that evening. The only likely culprit was the appetizer at Yokohama. We all shared meals at Kuboto and my son and I were fine. This is the rudest I have ever been treated at a restaurant. I am currently employed as a server at a restaurant in Greenwood about a half mile east of Yokohama, so they can be assured I will be informing many a potential customer of my very unpleasant experience at their establishment. Pros: decor Cons: Rude, inconsiderate, unsafe more

MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE 2/23/2010

We visited this resaurant on 2/19/2010.We were sat at a table and then were told to move that it was reserved for other guest,we had filled out our order form and evidentally our table number was not switched after we got up and moved so we were served the wrong order. We had 3 waitresses. Not a one waitress came to our table and ask if things were ok.I told the owner (waitress)that we were served the incorrect food and she started yelling and telling me that we were trying to get our food free.I was willing to pay for the food eaten the rest was left at the table, she preceded to yell and told us never to come back that her restaurant was for BIG CHEESE ,(people w money)and that is why we were moved to another table by the window.I did pay for the meal and I contacted my bank and found out she put a tip on my card that I did not authorize.I had this feeling she was that type of person by the reaction I got when I mentioned our food was wrong. I however already given the waitress a cash tip as she was the one apologizing for the mistake and was embarrased by the way her boss was reacting.Very disapointed that a grown women and business owner would blame the guest for their mistake.Hopefully she will take some classes on restaurant management, I would hate for them to fail. Pros: GOOD PLUM WINE. Cons: RUDE WAITRESS(OWNER)SLOW SERVICE VERY AGGRESSIVE more

Too many good sushi places in INDY to waste your time going 2/4/2010

My wife and I ate there 2/3/2010 and the waitress was truely rude! What a lousy experience. My wife wanted COOKED fish (not raw) and asked the Japaneese waitres for a recommendation. She checked 2 items on the menu, my wife chose 1 of her two recommendations. When it came, the fish was RAW. Waitress said it was ""half-cooked"", pointing out that the assparagus, rice and cream cheese was cooked. She accussed us of wanting ""free food"". Refused to take it back as we ""ordered it"". Said my wife could order another item, which ""you pay for it too"". We did not want free food, my wife wanted cooked fish as she had asked. I asked for the check and they brought our coats with the check too, to get rid of us. Never eat here!!!! With service like this they surely can not survive?? Pros: Rude & provide false information about menu items Cons: Lousy customer service, ""they are right-you wrong"" attitude more

Now Closed 10/22/2008

This restaurant has closed and is now a Japanese restaurant. I never got to try it, but the Japanese place is good :) Pros: Closed Cons: Closed more
