We attempted to dine at this restaurant this evening, but eventually we were denied service. It was my first time at the establishment, and I won't be returning. We (my 1.5 yr old son and I) arrived at the restaurant around 5:30 to dine with my friend and her 8 year old son. My friend had dined there before and liked the food. She and her son had a high chair for my son and an appetizer on the way for them by the time we arrived. There were NO other patrons in the restaurant. After we sat down and received a glass of water and my friend received her appetizer the very nice older woman and the younger woman suggested we move to the booth behind us. So, we moved. 5 minutes later, the rude younger woman came up to our table. She asked that we order because they had a reservation arriving in about 45 minutes. I began to order and she interrupted me and said they did not have anything but sushi available (even though they had given me the entire menu to order off of). I sat for a second confused and she went on to remind us of the reservation and that maybe we would prefer to go to House of Tokyo. So my friend paid for her appetizer and we left, dumbfounded. I decided I should of said something to the woman for her rudeness and so I called her once I arrived at our new locale, Kuboto. That is when she informed me that I was a horrible mother and that my son was terrible child. I told her she did a horrible job running a restaurant if this is how she treats her customers. Throughout our very nice dinner at Kuboto I had my friend reassure me many times that I had not done something wrong in my parenting and that my son had not behaved in some terrible way. She assured me that, no, we were not horrible or terrible and she was as confused as I was. To top it all off, my friend informed me later that she and her son had diarrhea later that evening. The only likely culprit was the appetizer at Yokohama. We all shared meals at Kuboto and my son and I were fine. This is the rudest I have ever been treated at a restaurant. I am currently employed as a server at a restaurant in Greenwood about a half mile east of Yokohama, so they can be assured I will be informing many a potential customer of my very unpleasant experience at their establishment. Pros: decor Cons: Rude, inconsiderate, unsafe
