Everything was perfect....we're reordering again tonight

Worst

Salads much better at the restaurant.

My favorite comfort food restaurant 12/29/2006

For good comfort food that you won't be dissappointed by, Wilfire is great. The atmosphere and ambiance is comfortable. Enjoy good food in your jeans. I go here several times a year and I've never been dissappointed by the food once (even if I'm a vegetarian that eats fish, a pescatarian?). Go here for a family gathering or just to treat yourself to some good food. more

Very Good but I would give it a 9 or 10. That is reserved for Superb. 12/8/2006

I was traveling to Chicago and ate here based on the great views it received. The food was is very very good but my steak was quite salty and I love salt. So that disappointed me. Thankfully we also sat in a side dinner area becasue of the structure the main dinning area is very loud with people talking about and the bar located adjacently to the dinning area. All in all it was very good and I was happy but it really could have been better. If traveling to Chicago again I don't think I would eat there again-with all the great choices in that city I would try something else. Maybe my expectations were to high. Pros: For the price it was very good Cons: Steak was over salted more

Great local option for steak and seafood 11/14/2006

Although a tad corporate (Lettuce Entertain You owns about a zillion restaurants in Chicago) this is a great place. Their food is consistently good from their steaks to chicken to fish and their more causal salads and sandwiches. Their onion loaf to start is amazing as are their martinis. Service is always prompt and friendly. more

I miss you wildfire 11/10/2006

My wife and I moved from Chicago area two years ago and miss many things. We miss Wildfire more than most of our friends in that area. Be prepared to wait if you don't have reservations. Pros: value and decor Cons: wait and price more

steak house 11/3/2006

good food, great deserts, valet parking, american, barbeque, roughly 20-30 per person, open 7 days a week. mon-thur 5-10pm, fri-sat 5-11pm, and sun 4-9pm. more

Always a favorite. 11/2/2006

Like many of the Lettuce Entertain You restaurants, the food here is consistently good. The steaks are wonderful, as are the side dishes, and the huge salads. For the price, you get a great meal. The atmosphere is warm and cozy-great on a cold Chicago night! Great bar and drink list too. Pros: Incredible steak, salads, and sides. Warm Cons: Always packed!! more

Amazing steak 8/10/2006

One of the best experiences in Chicago. I went with my staff as a perk for them. It was a great. From the tri filet mignon entree to the fantastic service...this place deserves kudos. Pros: Staff, Menu, Ambience Cons: Parking more

Bad Waiter? It was very disappointing! 5/24/2006

After reading the reviews on city search we decided to make reservations at 7:45 Thursday. We were impressed with the atmosphere. We put in our drink orders and ordered the lobster bisque, scallops wrapped in bacon. The drinks took at least 20 minutes to arrive. The rye and coke was very watered down but my husbands Manhattan was good. The waiter asked us several times if we wanted more bread, but it never came. It was over an hour before the waiter took our food order. It didnt take long to get the food after that. I ordered the prime rib medium-well and it arrived medium-rare. My husbands duck was above average. I let the waiter know about the prime rib and he comped a desert for us but everything was so slow we didnt get out of the restaurant until quarter to 10. The bill came to $99. Pros: good quality Cons: expensive, slow, bad service more

IT WAS GOOD! 2/10/2006

Went to Wildfire last Friday at 10:45; 15 min. before closing time. Service was still great as if the day was fresh. I had the waitress-recommended Wildfire Raspberry Cosmopiltan - So Good! The grilled chicken and mushroom skewers and the huge porterhouse steak were outstanding as well. Although the cheesecake left a little to be desired, I can't wait to go again! Pros: Service, Steak, Martinis Cons: Cheesecake more

EAT HERE TODAY 1/20/2006

We read the reviews on this site before going there on a Monday night. Everything was great. The food was wonderful, try the filet trio with your choice of crust, you won't be sorry. The waitress was helpful and attentive. We couldn't have asked for a better meal or service. We've been to Gibson's and the Chop House, the food here is equal to or better than either place. The service is far superior, no attitude or rudeness. Pros: awesome food, reasonable prices, great service more

Can't beat it. 12/7/2005

I had a first date here and it could not have been better. Firstly, being very tall (6'8""), and without asking, the maitre had us wait 2 minutes longer so we could have a large booth table instead of the small one. Very good of him. We both had drinks, apps, and fantastic steaks for around $70. We are still together and live in NYC. A steak dinner for 2 at $70 in NYC is unheard of. Went to Gibson's in Chicago on a return trip and it could not compare. Pros: Steaks, Scene, Service more

Good.. could be better, could be worse. 10/18/2005

Nice place to go, however after being told by several of our friends to check this place out, we ultimately were sorely disappointed. Our appetizers and entree's were just ""average"" and the service was very rushed and gave us the feeling of being pushed out the door (sometimes food can come TOO fast...). The restaurant was VERY crowded and LOUD... we could hardly hear each other speaking across the small table we occupied. I really had hoped for better... and there are much better steaks to be had in the city. Overall, maybe it was just a bad night for Wildfire, but we probably won't go back. more

Holy cow! 9/29/2005

We've eaten at every steakhouse in Chicago, and none of them can compare to Wildfire in terms of food quality, professionalism and service. Our waitress, Nicole was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu and winelist that we couldn't help but feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. Also, it's such a value that we come back as often as we can! Pros: service, food, value Cons: not one more

Great food, great service, great value!! 9/8/2005

This was our first visit to Wildfire and what a great experience we had. The steaks were fantastic and the service we received was top notch. The NY strip was excellent with the horsradish crust. My wife had the beef medallions with horsradish, parmesan, and mushroom crusts. All we excellent. Appetizer, meals, 4 beers, and the white wine flights (4 sampler glasses of 4 different wines) ran the tab to about $100. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Pros: Steaks, Service, Value more

Unmatched Quality!! 9/8/2005

The Horseradish Crusted Filet Mignon is by far the best steak I have ever eaten in my life!!! It's huge and worth every penny! I ate every last bite! Dont let the prices scare you - you get what you pay for and Wildfire won't dissapoint! There's also a Wildfire in Oak Brook Mall. Make reservations, you will still wait for your table, but the place is always insanely crowded and no reservations could leave you waiting for hours! Pros: Great service, Huge portions, No steak sauce needed Cons: Long waits, Crowded bar more

Consistantly Very Good 7/30/2005

I've been to Wildfire about 7 times and I have never had a bad meal or experience. There are very few restaurants I could say about. The bone-in filet is one of my favorites, also the swordfish excellant. more

Delightful Dinner 7/7/2005

A wonderful resturant that I'll visit again often. The swordfish is incredible and the service was impeccable. For the qaulity of the food, it is reasonably priced. I did not have to ask for anything. We were seated right away and treated well until the moment we left the resturant. A wonderful resturant for a date or group of friends. Pros: food, service, atmosphere Cons: price more

the best 6/6/2005

if you want the best steak, great atmosphere, and good drink selection, this is it. try the peppercorn filet. it's awesome! atmosphere is great for business or pleasure. save room for dessert too. Pros: food, service, specials Cons: expensive parking more

Way underpriced! 5/29/2005

I can't believe that I would say it, but Wildfire was underpriced. For the meal I had, I would gladly have paid much more. Two entree's, one appetizer, and two glasses of wine came to $70.00. The atmosphere was spectacular. Make sure to reserve a booth off the main floor. These dimly lit areas are much more romantic than the busy crowed floor area. I also found the open air kitchen interesting as you can watch the chefs prepare your meal. The only negative thing I could determine is that there was almost a chain restraunt feel. but nothing like I have ever seen before Pros: Price, Atmosphere, Quality Cons: Busy, Comercalized more

Wood-fired ovens and spit roasters add a special flavor to the fresh, top-quality meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables, while a broad range of cocktails and wines ? several available in multi-glass tasting ?flights? ? add to the delight.

Specialties include fish and steaks prepared with a variety of tasty crusts ranging from macadamia nuts to horseradish; prime ribs of beef, barbecued baby back ribs, fabulous salads, and a range of exceptional sandwiches are the regular fare. They?re supplemented with nightly and seasonal specials in every menu category. Giant baked, double-baked, and barbecue-rubbed sweet potatoes, creamed spinach, and other sides add to the pleasure.

Wildfire?s desserts are special, too, with great individual and full-size pies, ice-cream and pudding creations, and fresh-fruit-based treats.
