Many arrive from New Jersey, or Westchester or even Connecticut to dance the forbidden dance of the Cha Cha Slide. Mickey Avalon blares from the speakers as you swig your vodka to...

21!st BDAY CELEBRATION 1/24/2009

December 26th, 2008! My friends and I got dropped off via limo. We purchased tickets on line and were dropped off at Webster Hall! The Outside staff( not sure if they are security/ticket takers) were awlful (RUDE, COCKY, and un professional). We were not allowed in for NO apparent reason. They charged us for the tickets and what ever the reson was they should have refunded our tickets right on the spot. Huge disappointment and we were treated like a piece of garbage! After sharing this horrible experience I found out that this is how they run their club. Friends have been inside and said it was run the same way and would NEVER go back. So if I would have done my homework I would have found out its TERRIBLE!!! more

One of my favorites 10/22/2008

The entertainment is ridiculous with: fire-breathers, trapeze artists, drag queens, showy bartenders, etc. Although dark as pitch, the lasers and strobes light up the inside like stars in the sky on a clear night. I can barely name the incredible array of DJs I saw spin, each one better than the last! Everyone heads upstairs to the "techno room" since the crowd there always gets people moving! Advice: guest list yourself for reduced admission. Pros: best crowd in the city more

Great time! 8/10/2008

I went to Webster Hall this past Saturday - AMAZING! So, how did it work and why did I have a great time when so many people (check reviews below) did not? It might have to do with approach - just follow me here. I went Webster Hall's website - there was a link to sign up for a one time FREE ticket via e-mail; got that right away, printed out the ticket/my pal did too. The webpage keeps track of which ISP addresses access it, because I could not find the link again. Except for group rate packages, I did not see any info on drinks...precursor to high costs? Probably, so a pregame was a must. We settled on some beer and liquor and fininshed it on the train on the way in. Pretty juiced up, we made the best pregame choice of all - smoked a Hookah at Horus Cafe. This was relaxing as hell, and really put us in the mood. Webster Hall lay just down the street. The free tickets got us in quickly. Now stop right here....The place is crowded, dark, and loud - you are either into that or you are not; if you cannot dance or are not willing to try, this place will not be fun . My friend and I could hold our own (ha!), and jumped right into the Techno room upstairs. After a good scope out and a couple forays onto the dance floor, we met some International girls :)Again, a couple dance skills is what really made that work - I pulled off some simple breaker moves on the dance floor; nothing fancy, but got people's attention. A real problem was how slick the floor was with liquor...I almost fell right on my face. Later on, everyone was pretty hot/tired, so we bought some water...$5 for a bottle of Poland Spring! Around that time, the 'Auction' occurred and both guys and gals were sold off on stage - very funny, a real central event. Overall: PROS: Enormous, multiple dance floors with all kinds of music. Huge variety of guys and girls - somebody for everyone. CONS: Very expensive drinks. Unless you go for a group package or are a high-roller, the prices are ridiculous. more

For a horrible time go to webster hall 7/30/2008

I was there this weekend for a bachelorette party and had some gross man hitting on myself and my group after asking him to leave us alone he continued to come up and grab our arms and force us to dance with him. I went over to the bar THREE Times to ask for security since this man was also drunk and no one ever came. After my displeasure i called the hall to let them know of the incident and they have not returned my calls or taken them, funny enough the managers have not been in for the past 4 days. I'll tell you this i'll never go back there and discouage anyone from going there. Prices for drinks are high , atmoshpere is not great considering you're in NYC there's a TON of better places so skip on this one! Pros: If you want to be molested Cons: you'll be molested by gross creepy guys! more

change of heart 6/4/2008

ok ok i remember writting a BAD review for webster hall a few months ago. yet it was for the after prom party . which was gheto and crowded uggh. BUT i went on a regular friday night and had a great time! the crowd looked much better. and it wasnt as bad the night i went. of course there were a few cornballs. like weird guys but i guess thats everywhere u go. The drinks are expensive but hey its a club in nyc....what you expect? i had a good time. However the bouncers can have a little attitude but most bouncers are frustrated people anyway lol. Webster hall can either be REALLY good or REALLY bad.....so cross your fingers the night you go :) more

no way this club is mean 5/22/2008

B&T meets gh@#to with guidos on the side 4/12/2008

Horrible. The crowd, the music, every single thing is hideous. A good place for weight watchers to advertise. Find a real club. New York is full of them, don't waste your time in this dump. Pros: Pros? are you kidding me? this place is garbage. Cons: everything. more

up and down .. and may-be up again??? 4/4/2008

i went to Webster Hall for quite a bit many yrs ago . this place went up . then down . & now i hear it is going up again . ok if you don?t know what that means, keep reading . On the POSITIVE side, ONE: WH is a big place with many rooms. If you don?t like the hip hop room, then to go the house music room, etc. TWO: there is a lot of entertainment shows around if that is your take & likes (strippers, contests, reviews, etc) THREE: most of the old-timers that are still around are very friendly & fun to be around with. FOURTH: the door people are ?generally? nice & efficient. On the NEGATIVE side: FIRST: the management of WH is not the most talented or loyal to their people. In the past, they have fired the best security team the club has ever seen, fired a great staff of dancers, all for money issues  SECOND: the club choice of music is very disappointing, for example, the DJ in the 80?s & 90?s room plays the same music EVERY SINGLE WEEK. If you don?t believe me, go there for few weeks in a row and you will totally agree. Also, they play so much hiphop and reggae music. Whatever happened to house music?? THIRD: the crowd sophistication level has gone tremendously down (umm the word is .. G**tto, lol) . FOURTH: the line outside of WH ?can be? long & the security guards handling those lines are not the most pleasant to deal with. Generally the place is not bad to be in, especially if you want to be entertained (with shows), you are not a serious dancer or don?t have a specific taste in music. The reason I said earlier that the place seems to be doing something right recently (& thus going up again in my book) is that I heard that they are bringing some serious talent there like Danny Tenaglia, Chemical Brother, Sasha & Digweed, etc. ? with this kina of DJs . & hopefully straighten up the door securities attitude ? I think WH can rise again Pros: big place, shows/entertainment Cons: security are rude, not serious dancing music, crowd level is low, management is bad more

Still one of my favorites... 4/4/2008

Pros: best crowd in the city Cons: floor gets sticky, be careful more

Slowly Getting Worse- But I am Loyal 3/11/2008

As soon as i turned 19 ( 2 years ago) i went for the male review. and that hooked me immediatly. Me and my friends were always broadcasting all over myspace about going. we eventually went so much we knew the staff the dancers( by first name) and alll the bouncers. and then we started working there. The club used to open the 2nd floor up to hip hop and it was awesome. packed but still room to dance and there were hundreds of beautiful people . The reggae room was and is always packed because thats where the best music is played. the techno room is even cute to go into when u wanna just hang out with your friends and have a good time. the latin room( which i hate walkin all the way up there) is actually a nice change. Its very nice to go there back in the day if you are going with a big group of people who have varried music taste, because u can always split up and go your own way. The bouncers are perverts tho. they talk to any and everyone. they break rules and i heard some of them got fired for r@ping a girl in the bathroom. The club has declined. they dont have the s3xy singles auction anymore on fridays- the strip tease is a joke. if you know someone who works there u will win automatically. girls are nasty and ugly now. the strippers arent even as cute as they used to be 2 years ago. the big room upstairs plays techno. the rooms seem off balance now. the reggae room needs to be moved to a bigger room because it always seems to be packed. the techno room needs to be in the basement and the latin room needs to be be where the techno is played. the bar has reasonable drink prices and specials and the dj's are not as good as they used to be. as an ex worker and a person who goes sometimes to visit and celebrate friends/family who turn 19 its an ok place. very mixed crowd. you fine all races and sometimes people from different countries. i reccomend goin but only on a thursday or saturday Pros: Many Different Places and People Cons: Need to bring back the live radio broadcast in the ballroom more

FRIDAY NIGHT ARE THE BEST AT WEBSTER HALL 2/25/2008

FOR ALL THOSE LOSERS WH WENT TO WEBSTER HALL AND HAD VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE TOO BAD, FIND ANOTHER CLUB TO STAND AROUND AND WATCH YOUR TYPE OF PEOPLE (BORING THAT IS) DANCE OUT OF SEQUENCE. I LOVE WEBSTER HALL, I BEEN GOING THERE SINCE THE LIMELIGHT CLOSED, AND MY FIRST TIME GOING THERE WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE AND EVERYTIME I GO ON A FRIDAY NIGHT I HAVE A GREAT TIME, I COULD DANCING BY MYSELF FOR MOMENT, LATER I'M DANCING WITH DIFFERENT LADIES FROM DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND THAT'S NICE. THE ONLY BAD THING I CAN SAY WEBSTER HALL CAN CHANGE OR IMPROVE IS PLAY NEW MUSIC THAT EUROP IS DANCING TO JUST AS THE STATES....I GOT OEVER 47 THOUSANDS MP3 TRACKS I CAN PLAY THERE AND MOVE THE CROWD ONCE A WEEK IF THEY UPGRADE THEIRE SYSTEM TO MP3 COMPATABLE PLAYER; WHERE YOU CAN BRING YOUR IPOD AND PLUG IN IN THEIRE SYTEMS AND ROCK THE HUGE CROWD THEIR. THA WOULD BE A CHALLENGE AND ANYONE THAT LIKE TO PARTY WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. LAST, I WOULD LIKE TO ADD FOR THOSE WHO INJOYED THEIR TIME SPREAD THE NEWS , WEBSTER HALL IS THE PALCE TO GO IF REALLY LIKE TO LET IT ALL GO WITHOUT PREJUDICE. I WILL GO BACK SOON, I MISS OUT GOING DUE TO A KNEE ACCIDENT A WHILE BACK, NOW IT'S COUNT DOWN TO PARTY HARD ON FRIDAY'S AT MY FAV CLUB IN NYC. PSPS...DON'T GO THERE IF YOU ARE NOT A PARTY ANIMAL OR YOU JUST GO TO WATCH OR EVER BETTER -YOU BRING 10 OF YOUR GIRLFRIENDS AND GET ON THE FLOOR AND TAKE UP SPACE TO TALK INSTEAD OF DANCING. more

unattractive crowd 2/17/2008

My friends and I went there last Thursday for their valentines day party. The place was super empty, even when we left around 2am. The crowd was mostly desperate guys who can't invest in deodorant. The line went fast and they were pretty nice at the door. The place is beautiful, but it was awkward dancing in such a big space with less than a hundred people in the main room. The hip hop room lived up to its reputation of being smelly and crowded. I saw no hot guys and got cursed at for turning every single ugly guy down. if you're looking to dance and maybe hook up with someone hot, this is not the place to go Pros: Free to get in on thursdays, nice space Cons: hip hop room, unattractive crowd more

the male review is the best 1/17/2008

OK my friend dragged me here for the male review show, I had a great time. I stayed after the show until 4am, dancing all night. I really felt comfortable the entire night. I can't say this about many places. I was just able to be myself and relax and have a fun night. "We both thank you Webster Hall, for a great evening!" Pros: the man show Cons: umm??? the guys after the show were not as hot as the performers more

I Love This Place!!! 1/17/2008

Great atmosphere, people are friendly, Huge place, There's room for everyone to dance (well except the hip hop room to crowded). Thursday nights is ladies night which is fabulous (very hot stripper on top of the bar) and when you enter the place they give the girls screws and the guys bolts, so if you see a hottie with a bolt you can screw it on and get free drinks (literally).. all kinds of music for different people. Pros: This a Great spot Cons: none more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! 10/27/2007

THIS PLACE SUCKS...YEAH IT HAS DIFFERENT KINDS OF MUSIC FROM DIFFERENT FLOORS...BUT THE BASEMENT WHERE THEY'RE PLAYING DECENT MUSIC IS ALWAYS SO DISGUSTING...FLOOR IS ALWAYS DIRTY, IT'S TOO SMALL FOR THE ACTUAL CROW D THAT GOES THERE, AND IT SEEMS LIKE THE OWNER IS TOO CHEAP TO PUT THE AC ON BECAUSE IT DOES REALLY FEEL LIKE HELL DOWN THERE. AS SOON AS YOU WALK DOWN YOU CAN JUST LITERALLY SMELL EVERYBODY'S SWEAT...ITS HORRIBLE. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR PLACES TO GO- THIS ONE SHOULDN'T BE ON YOUR LIST. more

Really great piece of NY 10/25/2007

Part of the year I live in NYC, and I've been to Webster Hall more than a few times now. I've been to see shows, had a friend take me to the Awesome 80s Prom and have even been to a couple of club nights. On their club nights they have crazy performances I wasn't even aware of . It's like a night club mixed with live theater. The place is just fun, plain and simple. If I were going to go out I'd come here. It's away from all the uppity crowds on the West side and it just feels authentic. Pros: The space! Cons: Door staff more

fun place, good music 10/22/2007

I have been coming to webster hall for about 5 or 6 years now and for the most part have always had a great time. The thing about WH is the crowd is always mixed - a huge variety of people: white, black, spanish, asian, new yorkers, tourist europeans, canadians, whatever. It is an anything-goes party that is just plain fun, no frills or pretense. Security can be a bit rough, agreed, but I have NEVER had a horror story like the one described below - hopefully never will!! Pros: music, vibes, crowd, price Cons: security more

Awesome variety of music 9/13/2007

The Great thing about Webster hall is that its SUPER huge it has 3-4 floors, all playing different styles of music so there's always a place for you to go dance to your style of music. On a bad note though there are A LOT of desperate guys there who are singing along wit T-Pain but can't even buy you a drink lol. I don't go to Webster Hall anymore because the both times i went there I left with a stalker following me EVERYWHERE around the club, from floor to floor and almost home which was pretty creepy. Another thing thats not cool with webster is that you have to pay this crazy admission that vary from $20-$30. What i recommend to all who are planning to visit is to go to their online website where they have a coupon printout that if you arrive b4 11 or 12 you get in for free. Also for the ladies try to bring a male friend for the cheap stalkers that you WILL encounter there. Pros: Diff. styles of music, line moves fast Cons: desperate guys who don't get the point, stalkers more

Male Review 3/16/2007

My friends and I went here on Thursday night to see the male review. The show was supposed to start at 10:30 but didn't start until almost 11:30 and the guy who manages the tables was very rude. Other than that we had a blast. There was no cover charge and there was an open bar for the whole show (including before the show started). We opted to get a table up front, literally inches away from the stage for $75. This included a table for up to five people and a free bottle of champagne (c'mon, you can't beat that). Warning: Be prepared to stand if you don't pay for a table & get there early if you want one..they are limited. It was only $10 extra to have one of us be able to sit on the stage during one of the men's performances and be part of the act. If you're going to do this aware that it is quite wild and you will get some heavy petting from them. Also be aware of the coat check--if you are seeing the male review you are required to check your coat and it's $4 per item. The guys who danced were hot and very wild--there were 3 of them. Hmm. The two male bartenders were very cute friendly & the host of the show (Shane) is hilarious. I recommend it if you wanna have fun for very cheap and see some hot men in the process. Pros: open bar, male review Cons: limited seating during review more

Get Ready to Be Groped and Surrounded by Nasty Men 1/1/2007

This place is a complete disaster. All of the men are vultures and will crowd around you. My girlfriends and i were literally packed into a circle with about 10 men all around us pinching our butts, making dirty comments and trying to grind on us. The guys are ugly, the music isn't that great and the crowd is not upscale. they charge astronomical fees ($30 and up!! ) and you're partying w. 18 year olds. Who wants to do that? Don't go here. Pros: Exit Door Cons: Entrance more
