one of the best meals I have had on grub hub

Worst

I went for dinner, and I went for the BBQ sampler -- sausage, BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, and ribs. Boy was that a lot of food for only $11.95! The ribs were a little chewy and fatty...

BBQ Heaven 6/1/2006

The 4 of us went to Weber Grill for lunch and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. You don't leave hungry from Weber's. The burger was thick hot and juicy, BBQ chicken was excellent, tender and grilled perfectly. The beef brisket and ribs were also grilled to perfection. 1 out of 4 of us liked the cole slaw that came with the meal and the cornbread was a bit overbaked and dry. Otherwise the atmosphere and service was excellent and we had a great view of the kitchen/food prep area. It was a bit warm by the kitchen but it is to be expected. Always consistently GOOD 5/15/2006

Been going for a few years now and have tried most items on the menu. One of the best Rib-eye steaks I have ever had, great 10 oz. burger, great salads-especially the chopped. I love the beer can chicken and even the pork chops are good. Friendly service. Restaurant continues to get better with each vist. Surprisingly Very Good 5/11/2006

I had read the reviews on here before I went and actually didn't go here the first trip to Chicago because of some of the reviews. Put it this way, I was wrong the first time and the 9.1 rating is correct. Are there going to be bad times, sure, hence it is not a 10, but as far as downtown eating goes, 9.1 is really good. I wanted to try a little of everything, but found out the menu is huge, which is really great. I had the bbq combo of three and the meal was tremendous. Huge portions and cooked really good. Nothing I hate more than reheated ribs (Outback has done it to me more than once) but there was nothing reheated here, just really good barbeque. No disappointments on food, quality, portion size or atmosphere. Price is real good, especially considering where you are. Pros: Menu, Price, Quality Cons: Crowded more

I really do like Steak 4/25/2006

This restaurant did not stick out in my mind as abnormally good or bad. Arrived at around 8:30 with a reservation, was seated within 5 mins of notification. Service was friendly and attentive, but for some reason a busboy was trying to punish my chair all night by bumping up into it. Ordered the NY Strip (16oz) and it was excellent; how I expect it to be for $32. I recommend the Weber Brew Ale, it was downed enjoyably. The desserts looked wonderful. World's Best Hamburger 3/16/2006

Char-grill flavor, tender inside, what more could a burger lover ask for? These are the best burgers anywhere, in my opinion. Unless you have a big appetite, you might want to share one of these - they are huge! Excellent, and the service tops. more

Totally Overrated 2/19/2006

For the price you pay, the food at the Weber Grill was not very appetizing. To me, you could have dine at a local mom and pop restaurant and get your moneys worth. Just because an establishment opens its doors in a certain location does not make it five star restaurant. Don't believe the hype more

Save $$, go to Burger King 12/2/2005

While the atmosphere and location of this restaurant are sophisticated, the food and drink were disappointing. Their red wine sangria was sour and bitter rather than sweet and juicy. My hamburger was dry and served with a limp piece of lettuce (I've had better grilled hamburgers at Burger King). All the food with the exception of the appetizer was served a room temperature. All and all, we were left wondering what happened to that hot off the grill meat? To add insult to injury, the dining room was incredibly crowded and the temperature was uncomfortably hot. One of the best meals we had in our trip to the windy city. I had the BBQ sampler and liked everything. Portion size was large and the food was top quality. My wife had the ribs and she said they are the best she has ever eaten. We will return on our next trip. Pros: good food, service, decore more

Great food 8/9/2005

We had a party of 6 at 6 pm last Friday evening and were seated at 6:03. The food was wonderful. I had the beer can chicken. It was a massive 1/2 chicken grilled in the newest fad style. It was tender and juicy and came on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes. Others had the filet, a cheeseburger and the pulled pork sandwich. All was enjoyed. Reservations are suggested. Delicious Steaks!! 6/28/2005

The Weber Grill restaurant definitely lived up to my expectations. I highly recommend ordering the baked potato with their special cheese/beer sauce, it was to die for. The steaks were great and so were their veggies. There was no wait, we were immediately seated (at 4pm). Our waitress was very accomadating and made sure everything was perfect for our dinner. We also ordered the key lime cheesecake for dessert. Very good, but also very rich. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to adults, but you can also bring your kids if needed. A great place to eat!! more

SUBPAR at Best 4/14/2005

Subpar, gravely disappointing, unremarkable, are all efficient ways to describe my much anticipated experience at Weber Grill. After reading a plethora of positive reviews for this place baring the name that governs the world of barbecue, I was extremely disappointed in what this River North hot-spot had to offer. The spinach & artichoke dip was decidedly more tasty only with the help of a nice splash of salt and pepper. After sending back their first try at ""rare"", my second burger, though cooked properly and moderately juicy, was overshadowed by the oversized bun in which it sat. Additionally, the pulled-pork sandwich was dry on its own, accompanied by an inadequate amount of Carolina BBW sauce on the side. Ultimately, dollar for dollar, there are far better burgers in the city, though by the looks of the mob of people waiting to get a table, nobody seems to know that yet. more

best steak in a long time 11/7/2004

My Husband and I went to weber grill on Nov 6 2004 at about 6:30pm . We had no wait , no reservations. The service was great and the food oh my god , it was to die for. I would reccomand the skirt steak , it was so tender and it melted in your mouth, And my husband got the grilled tuna and that was great , I rate the weber grill at a 20 more

what do all the staff do? 8/15/2004

There was an abundance of staff walking around but the food took a very long time to arrive. The brisket was total fat. I returned it and the manager came over to let me know he didn't feel ""comfortable serving it to me"". I sent it back. Order carefully, they add lots of extras which you may not expect on a typical sandwich. Portions big and tasty but the service made the dining experience unpleasant. Then they forgot to remove the brisket from the bill. Pros: tasty, spacious, big portions Cons: , poor service, no quality control more

I live in Chicago and went because of the claim that this was the best burger in town. Boy was I disappointed. The Hamburger was simply awful. Overcooked tasteless and greasy and very expensive. Surprisingly Good 6/29/2004

I was skeptical because I thought it would be a mediocre chain-restaurant experience. I had barbecued baby back ribs--they were absolutely delicious. They're slow cooked, crunchy on the outside and deliciously pink and tender on the inside. Outside had enough sauce for flavor, but was not drowned. I liked having sauce on the side so I could control how much I got. The coleslaw was great, but it was served in a shot glass and could be eaten in two bites. The service was fantastic. First thing we received was our own carafe of water...every time that thing hit the table empty BAM! it was taken away and refilled...and this was on a busy Saturday night. Favorite Chicago Restaurant!! 5/31/2004

I've been to Weber Grill about 15 times, and I have never had a bad steak yet. The service is excellent, the drinks and food are amazing, and the prices are very reasonable compared to other Chicago steakhouses. These people know how to work a grill!!! Service left a bad Taste!!! 5/27/2004

Well, The food is a bit high for the quality, but tasty.The service is what will keep me in my back yard with weber. servers bickering at each other, We felt as if we were bothering our waiter for another overpriced drink. we settled for wrong temps. on our steaks, well we had to since the server was busy elsewhere. when finally I recieved my overpriced drink(end of meal)without apology or explaination. Disappointing 5/12/2004

Although the downtown location was convenient and the atmosphere lively, the Chicago location was a big let down. We were seated in good time. The service was only average. Two items that we ordered were undercooked and the filet was a bit tough. The prices were a bit on the steep side. The poor quality of the food made them even steeper. Would not do this again. When I come back home to Chicago, I love to go to Weber Grill, mainly because I love backyard BBQs. I have not been disappointed. Try the sampler. Also, I absolutely love their apple pie. Great, great Service 4/11/2004

A fun place to take out of town guests (and fine for kids as well). Service is absolutely top-notch, food is great and the atmosphere is always high energy. Nice lunch spot also. Be sure to have a reservation - especially for a big group. But if you don't mind waiting in the bar, it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Pros: Service, Atmosphere more
