My new favorite Italian restaurant! 8/27/2008

I stopped by this past Friday with my friend and all I can say is ""Wow!"" My meal was simply amazing - mussels and the sweetest shrimp I've ever had in a perfect white wine sauce with linguine. I used two rolls just sopping up the leftover sauce. The calamari was fantastic, super crisp yet not overcooked, (I'm not a fan of soggy calamari rings, which I get at a majority of restaurants), and the tomato sauce was just spicy enough to keep you coming back. I thought the service was fantastic. Our server, (David, I think) was very knowledgeable about both the food and wine - he recommended a great white wine I had never heard of to go with my meal, and a red (a Tuscan I believe) for my friend who had the steak. I tried to get my friend to try the soft shell crabs, the special for the night, but he wasn't feeling too adventurous. However, I did try his steak and it was damn good for an Italian restaurant. Will definitely be back and have already told a few more of my friends about it...Well Done! Pros: Food, service, wine Cons: Not busy enough - support independent restaurants! more

We were seated right away we had to ask for water and a refill.our waitress forgot what one of us ordered and had to come back our food came and as she set it down she remembered i had changed my pasta and it was not done no biggie i ate it it was good.when we were done we noticed bread on other tables we asked our server and she said they had changed things recently and she forgot the bread but did put some in our take home bag.we also were charged for house salads that we thiought were included with 25 $ entrees food was yummy we will go back Pros: great food Cons: rookie mistakes on service more

Great Food, Best Service 4/5/2007

This is, in my honest opinion, probably the best Italian you're gonna get around here, meaning, save for a trip to Chicago, then you'd still be hard pressed. I almost always order the Misto di Mare when I go and it is perfectly seasoned, the seafood and veggies are always fresh, just an all around great dish. I don't usually order a Caesar as the house salad is fine in my book, and entree portions are huge. I agree with him or her about the services though, PHENOMENAL. A favorite of mine is Bob, who has been working there longer than I've been going, and that's almost a decade. I feel more like a friend of his than a customer and never have to tell him what I want to drink, he remembers, a touch missing in the more corporate places. If you're in the area, and really hungry, definitely stop by this Cincinnati Italian food gem. Pros: Food, Service, Parking, Friday Nights Easy to Get In and Out more

Got Flavor? 3/14/2007

The food was average at best. Dining there on a rather quiet evening the service was phenomenal, and informative. The calamari appetizer was served hot and the portion size was large but it tasted of old grease or oil from what it was cooked in. The Caesar salad was again a large portion size it was served crisp and cold but the dressing was flavorless. The entrees were as expected after the other courses. Bolognaise and the seafood pasta feature of the evening were lacking in any distinct flavor. The bolognaise pasta was overcooked and the sauce had a mild burnt taste to it. The seafood pasta was presented well but I found myself reaching for the salt again Pros: Service Cons: Bland food more

Vincenzo's Review 2/23/2006

I have been to Vincenzo's for lunch and dinner on several occassions, and I must say, that each time I have received top quality food along with friendly and efficient service. Because I am a long time customer and am somewhat familiar with the owners, I am sure that if you had mentioned your experience to the host/hostess they would have gone above and beyond to correct the mistakes. This restaurant is a great example of a family owned business. Give them another chance - I'm sure you will be pleased. more

POOR service+long wait=Not Recommended 1/29/2006

Went to Vincenzon's this past Saturday. HORRIBLE waitress--slow service--no water refills, sat for 20 minutes w/o taking order. Nice menu & decent food though. If they only had good service, I'd recommend it. It honestly was sad and embarrassing to the guests we had with us. Pros: Value, Variety Cons: Service, Service, Service more

Best Italian I've ever had 8/17/2005

We've been enjoying Vincenzo's marvelous food since he took over from Germano in Springdale. The Misto di Mari is just exquisite. Since he moved to Sharonville the new facility is great and the food remains just as good as always. You have to try this place, it is GREAT. Pros: Outstanding Italian, Great atmosphere, Superior Service more

You can't go wrong 6/6/2005

I have never been to restaurant where every dish was just as wonderful as the next. I have been to almost every Italian restaurant in the area, and Vinceno's is by far the best. more

Hidden Treasure 6/4/2005

Vincenzo's is truly a hidden treasure in Cincninnati! Separated from the more happening restaurant districts, Vincenzo's thrives due to it's superior food and long-time quality servers. I have been partronizing Vincenzo's for almost 10 years and several staff members have been with this wonderful restaurant since the beginning. From the second I walk in the door to the moment I leave, I feel taken care of! Vincenzo is an amazing chef! Everthing he makes is incredible. Calamari is the best I've ever had and his sauces are one of a kind! Best Italian in the city!!! Pros: reservations, value, service more
