Students BEWARE! Dishonest. 2/3/2009

Came to get my brakes checked as thy had 36% wear. I would have fixed them as I have done for years, but had too much going on with Finals so I brought my car here. The owner tried to tell me that my 6 year old car was in need of over $800.00 worth of repair. After I caught their bluff they lowered it to $200 to fix all 4 brakes. It wasn't a good deal, but I needed the car done for my wife. Came back 2 days later and it wasn't done. Then Finally the next day I went to pick it up and they told me that I owed $328. I showed them the paper they gave me telling me it would be $200. Then the manager came and told me that he only Quoted me for 1 side of the car! After a scuffle he lowered it a bit, but refused to take his first promise. Dishonest people and they prey on students at UW. Be aware. more

Not Good They gave me an estimate that was grossly overexaggerated My car had a squeaky noise. The diagnosis by them was that i had bad front and rear brakes. Parts and labor for both was around 450 Not true as I discovered from other mechanics. Only my front brakes needed changing and rear were 25% worn. Cost me 200 dollars (part and labor) so beaware more

As seen on TV! 9/20/2006

A rare treat to see the drama behind the scenes of an automotive repair facility. The owner just got done telling a mechanic what a good job he was doing on a car, and told the other guy at the desk that he was going to fire that mechanic for being incompetent as soon as the guy had left the room. Then the old guy told his protoge about the time he fired everyone in the shop and started from scratch. And that he was just about to do it again. All of this while I was in the room! This is better than watching the guy with the big mustache yell at his sons who are building choppers on the Discovery channel. But I'd never suggest you get work done there; just stop in for some prices and see the drama. more

Delivers on its promises 10/25/2005

Village Auto care is a one of the better places to have your oil changed in the U district. Many places in the area try to lure in customers with promises of cheap oil changes and then they don't deliver. Village Auto Care delivers and they perform a 21 point inspection with every oil change! The cost without the coupon is around 35 dollars, with one of their widely circulated coupons it is under 30 dollars. They also offer a wide range of other services for your vehicle. Customer service here is also wonderful. more
