My girl Friend and i had a dinner sept.25 ..Most want good ..as expected we signed the c/c voucher for the amount due $97.74 just to find when looking at the bank statement couple...

Bad Deal From Vargo's 4/29/2012

I signed up with Travelzoo for a voucher for brunch for 2 at Vargo's valid from April 29 to July 29, 2012. I paid for the voucher through a credit card online. On April 28th I received an email that the voucher would only be good through May 6th as they will be closing for renovations. This gave me only two Sundays that I could use the voucher and after going online to make reservations I was informed that they were booked up for brunch reservations both days. I guess they got so much money from the promo they decided that they could spruce up the old place. Bad move Vargo's! more

Located over a small lake, 7/13/2011

Located over a small lake, surrounded by old trees and a beautiful garden where peacocks stroll, this has to be one of the most beautiful restaurants in town. The focus of the chef is beef, and the steaks are respectable in size and quality. Try the prime rib. Good service and a solid wine list. more

This is a GREAT prom destination. 4/29/2011

This is a GREAT prom destination. The food is great, the girls absolutely love the scenery, and the service is excellent. I'm from the Woodlands and think the drive was well worth the experience. There was a piano guy playing the night we were there; he was playing quietly, elevator music...I went over and asked if I could play the piano; he let me. I started off with some classic chopsticks to his horror but then proceeded to play some jazz and some classical. They were very nice and it was a lot of fun. (I think they only let me play because pretty much everyone in the room was from one prom or another that night). I loved the place. I've been there several times before, I'm going back tonight actually. Can't wait. I needed to get the address and I found this site. more

I'd love to go back again. 4/19/2011

My husband I ate at Vargo's last night for his birthdays. There service was some of the best we've ever had. Each year I try to take him for the 'best steak in town'. This year Vargo's topped the rest! He had the Twin Filet Oscar plate and I had the stuffed chicken. Both were delicious. Carrot cake and tiramisu to cap off the night were wonderful as well. I'd love to go back again. more

I had a delicious steak and really good seafood appetizer while I was there. The entrees and salads give a lot of food for the reasonable prices. The interior is a little dated but it is a very old restaurant and still manages to keep its original charm. I think they brought new chairs this year because the ones in the dining room were nice. The service was great and the gardens were amazing. I will be going back! more
