the mongolian beef had good flavor, but the ratio of giant peppers and green onions to beef was a little overpowering. also they don't give you rice with your entrees, you have to order it separately, which would have been fine if there was any indication as such. most places give you rice, so i didn't order any because i expected to get some with my entree. more

Unsavory. Barely any taste to their special fried rice and too many peanuts with too little chicken in their Kung pow chicken. Also, no napkins, plates or chopsticks! Disappointing. more

Editorial review from GrubHub 7/12/2013

Late and lukewarm and bland... I have had Uptown China in the past delivered and it was never this late after and hour of half of waiting. When we received our food it was warm and boring. The pork tenderloin BBQ was dry I have had pre-made pork BBQ when working in restaurants that tasted better. Not mention dry as paper. more

Poor service with an attitude on top! 4/1/2012

Disappointed! If you're looking for zombie like service with no class or character, then this may be the place for you. We waited forever for our food only to be served cold chicken Lomein and cold fried rice. the rest of our order wasn't even ready. We complained to the owner/manager lady but she could almost care less. This restaurant might have been a good place to eat a few years back but I personally wouldn't give it another try. more

Very slow service. Food was OK. Went there for lunch hour and was pressed to get to work on time. Pros: OK food Cons: poor service more

Absolutely THE BEST! 5/6/2010

I've been a patron for a few years now and thoroughly enjoy myself each time. The food is fantastic. The drinks are spot on and the customer service is SUPREME! I enjoy mingling with the Staff and Patrons, who are always welcoming and friendly. And I have yet to bring a friend or family member with me who didn't enjoy themselves! Hats off UpTown! We love you! Pros: Fred, Yu Mei, the patrons, the food, the atmosphere... more

Seattle's Best Chinese Food 4/2/2010

This is a Chinese restaurant that bends over backwards to make your dinner spiced just the way you like it! From the fabulous soups (hot and sour seafood, hot sour, won ton) to the fried chicken wings, everything hits the spot. The lunch menu is priced right and provides a huge amount of food. I've NEVER had even a slightly off meal here. Everything is spot on, every time. Pros: Great weekend bartender, fabulous food, great entertainment Cons: Parking, but I blame the city. more

Terrible, Eat At Your Own Risk! 3/19/2010

Terrible food and even worse customer service. Our first experience at Up Town China resulting in having to send one of the dishes back... it was literally the consistency of shoe leather. We eat out regularly and are NOT picky, uptight patrons at all. As a matter of fact, I've only sent food back one other time in my life (because it was undercooked). Ok, so maybe this was just a fluke, so a couple months later we decide to give Uptown China a second chance and had some food delivered. Boy was that a mistake! We ordered Kung Pao Chicken and instead recieved, well... I'm not sure what it was, but it definitely wasn't Kung Pao Chicken! We politely called and told them about the mistake and requested that they credit us back for the cost of the ""mystery meat"" we clearly didn't order. They refused. After 15 minutes of arguing we finally hung up in frustration. It's amazing that a place like this can even stay in business. Eat at Uptown Cons: Nasty Food, Terrible Service more

Disappointing Chinese food. 11/12/2008

Ordered a take out and was very disappointed in the quality and quantity of their lunch special. I ordered hot&sour soup was acceptable, chang sa chicken - partially raw (is it ok to eat partially raw chicken?), vegetables were soggy and the spinach was clumped into a bundle, egg roll had no flavor and was not crispy, fried rice was actually not bad but was only good for a couple of bites and then it was gone (a little too stingy on the rice), over all I woudn't recommend this place to any of my friends. Disappointing. I guess back to Subway. more

Disappointing 11/9/2008

After reading through the reviews here I decided to give Uptown a try for a date night. The reviews I read here to not match the experience we had. In short, we were quite disappointed with this establishment. Pros: Proxmity to Seattle Center events Cons: Food quality, price, parking, ala carte menu more

Great American Chinese Food 10/3/2008

Best place for american chinese food outside of Chinatown. It not that far from my apt. Staff is always so friendly. I love the almond fried chicken. I never had a problem ever. This place is great. Pros: Parking, delivery, food more

Superb Chinese Food; Great Service 3/8/2008

This is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. Great food---especially the lunch special. Nice people. Excellent service. Good menu selections. I always look forward to when my schedule brings me to this part of town so I can have lunch or dinner here. more

Best in QA 11/9/2007

I have been trying to get good chinese here for over a year now. Uptown is close. It is good quality food, albeit a bit expensive. Service is good. Parking is a big plus. Food has generous portions of meat, and is freshly made. Better than average. Pros: Food, parking Cons: Not perfect food but best in the area, price more

Uptown China rules! 9/1/2007

We have been eating at Uptown China since before my 14 year old daugther was born. They are GREAT with kids. They love having them there and children sense this so they seem to behave very well. The food is fresh and delicious. Try the dry sauteed string beans, amazing potstickers, and salt and pepper halibut. Good mushu and hot and sour soup, too. Pros: Potstickers, dry sauteed string beans, salt and pepper halibut, MAI TAIs! Great staff! Cons: nothing to mention more
