we have shopped here for several years and feel we always get the best service and at a fair price. Most of the pieces we buy are for special gifts and are always recieved well. more

I have many lovely pieces of jewelry from this family run business -- they are always professional and if they don't have what you are looking for in Tysons, they will check their Fairfax store and have it sent over. You can always go across the street to Tiffany's or Nordstrom if you want to overpay....but I prefer the personal service I get from owner who wants you to come back again. more

Dishonest stores. They shortened a gold watch for me, and kept the 5 grams of gold that they cut off the band. I had made sure in advance that they understood that their price estimate for the work didn't include their keeping the scrap gold that was left over. But then they kept the fifth of ounce of 14k scrap gold and refused to admit that they essentially stole about $200 in gold from me after charging me full price for the goldsmithing work. The manager then told me the gold they kept wasn't worth much because gold was going to go down in price. Quite the opposite has happened, and gold has gone up 50% in price since then. The sales people and clerks working in there just stood there smirking while the manager was telling me this b.s. What's worse is that I was a good customer and had spent over $2000 there over the course of a year. I haven't gone back to that low class next of crooks since. more

Great jewelry!!! I have been a client at the art and jewelry exchange for a long time- and after reading some of these reviews I am shocked by the negative comments and I have recommended many friends and they all have been so happy with the art and jewerly exchange - it is all about relationships with the staff-most of them have been there for years!!! they are honest and the jewerly is beautifull- so for all the people that read the bad reviews- stop by and see for yourself because I would recommend this store highly!!! more

I had a wonderful experience at the Art & Jewelry Exchange. The sales person was Linda and she was great. Beautiful jewelry and some unusual piecses as well. I will definitely go back. more

Do not buy anything from this place EVER! They lie and they will rip you off. On top of everything else they have the biggest attitude and NO customer service. more

I have been a client of Art and Jewelry since the mid 90s. It became my only jewelry store for these reasons: the integrity of the owners, the pleasantness of the staff, the quality and value of the merchandise. I don't care if the item is second hand or new. I know that what I am buying is of high quality and a good value. I have never been pressured to buy nor have I ever been treated rudely. If I ever need any adjustments made they take care of that for me too. Art & Jewelry Exchange is a rarity: a family owned business who treats its clients like friends and family. I highly recommend Tysons Art and Jewelry. more

My experience was excellent. I went in there with two emerald rings; one I am using as an engagement right, the other a wedding band. They reset and refit the engagement ring and replaced a missing .25 carat diamond and repaired the prongs in the wedding band all for $375.00. This was nearly half the price of two other jewelry stores that I received quotes from. They also gave us $35.00 for two 14 carat bands that were not in good condition. Also, as mentioned above, the staff were pretty friendly. I am disappointed to hear the story below from Annette K. That sounds awe fully rude and they should have done something for her. I can see how that would happen there. We had a similar miscommunication with the staff there. We got all the way to end of our visit there and almost didn't get anything for our scrap gold. I purchased a 1 carat wedding band for my soon to be husband that was similar to one I priced in a jewelry store for twice the amount. After my purchase I noticed the the receipt said all merchandise is sold as is and all sales are final. This is something that I would have never excepted on a high ticket purchase but its to late now. The service was good and the people where very pleasant but I wish I had seen the reviews before I made my purchase. more

Zero stars. I posted a review yesterday, February 16, 2009, why isn't it showing up? Well, I guess I will try to post again. \r \r To make a long story short...The Exchange offered to give me store credit less 20% restocking fee, exchange, or store credit. Last 2 options are the same thing. \r \r I was given a watch for Valentines Day that The Exchange said retailed for $5,000; he (giver) paid $3,000. Saw another watch that retailed for $5,100...Exchange offered it to me for old watch PLUS additional $900! They also offered an one-for-one exchange; a watch that retailed for $2,725 -- that means I would have paid $275 above retail. Remember these are all previously owned watches.\r \r All I wanted was a fair exchange. I don't think The Exchange cares about you once a sale is made. Now every time I look at the watch all I think about is the way they want to take advantage of its customers. more

They are not the most honest people. They will rip you off and I didn't realize it at the time, they seemed so nice, but after dealing with their other store and seeing for myself yeah I see it now. Well, I learned my mistake and never again. (note: I didn't know there were 2 stores, they have different names but it's under same company/management).\r \r I got a similar explanation as the previous reviewer, being mislead about the value of the jewelry I had and that the "value" dropped or something like that. Unlike the previous reviewer, I believed them. \r \r This one is the higher-end "pawn" shop, the other is the lower-end one. \r \r I hope my review can at least warn other trusting people that are thinking about selling or buying jewelry with this store or their other one located in Fairfax off Fairfax Blvd (called The Cash Store). Do not even bother doing business with EITHER store!!!!\r \r Sell it yourself on e-bay or shop around. I made the mistake of trusting these people and more

I have been shopping at TAJ for over 3 years and have found everything about my experiences with them to be positive. The people are wonderful and not the least bit pushy, the prices can't be beat, and the selection is awesome. We've purchases Rolex watches, diamonds, bracelets, rings, necklaces, earrings, you name it! They are also very confidential. I've referred them to many others who have also become raving fans. Tyson's Art & Jewelry will have our business forever! more

Don't know what this previous guy is talking about. Obviously he doesn't know jewelry. Some of their consignment pieces are regulated by what the person putting it on consignment wants to get for the piece, and that is why they can't negotiate. As for their rolex watches they have fabulous prices, much lower than you will find even in St. Thomas. I have never had anyone push me to buy, however, I have bought a lot of pieces of jewelry from them also. When you have people in the store who are buying diamonds or pieces of jewelry that are upwards of 30,000.00 then I don't think you can call this an "upscale pawn shop." They are very reputable and easy to work with and do a fabulous job of telling you what is a good value and what is not. My whole family shops there frequently and we think it is fabulous. They stand behind everything they sell and if you have a problem with it, they are eager to fix it for little or no cost if you bought it from them. I think they are amazing and I ra more

I have been to this jewelry store several times. They are an upscale pawn shop. They do negotiate on prices (so don't accept the amount on the tags), however with some items they refuse to go lower and the prices are too high. I have purchased a nice watch from them and they do offer watch services there (i.e. new battery, sizing) which they do right on the premises. There was a Rolex that I also wanted but they barely came down in price making buying it from them (used) hardly worth it. The staff is friendly but they are a little pushy. more
