Worst

The massage was adequate but why 80 dollars for a modect palce with no special perksa 5 dollar bottle of unchlled wien and filthy sheets. No thanks I won't be back.

Compared to the big city spas of Houston we were entirely pleased with our experience at the petite retreat. The little tucked away spa was quaint and personal. The staff professional charming and sweet. We loved our massages. The very best massage we've had in Houston. It was a great value and we will be back. more

Your senses will be touched!!! 12/31/2011

Upon finding the spa behind a shopping center, I was a little surprised by the entryway. It was understated, to say the least, so I was hesitant to what I would reach when I got inside. I was greeted by my therapist, whom, at first glance, was also not what I was used to. She was comfortably dressed and very unassuming. She welcomed me into the spa area, a relaxing mecca. Amazing ambiance. I noticed that she had thought about ALL my senses! Sight - lights were turned down low, and the room was arranged with home library-type decor. Sound - the music she played was an excellent classical mix, and it happened to be songs I knew and LOVED. I was completely able to relax. Taste - she provided a glass of fresh fruit and bottled water. It was refreshing and made me remember I was there to detox. Smell - she had infusers and flowers in the room. It was a really classy spa room. Touch - she did a Swedish-style, hot-stone massage that really suited my expectations. I was completely pleased with this location. I gave it a "4" because of the entryway and the normal price. I enjoyed my Groupon rate, but am not sure I would pay full price. However, I am probably a bit skimpy and wouldn't pay that much for a massage, period. This was by far the BEST massage I have ever received. I wish I travelled back to Houston even remotely often to be able to benefit from going back to her spa. This is worth a visit, at a reduced Groupon rate. more

The Best Massage in Houston for sure 12/30/2011

After reading all the great reviews about this place, I decided to book a 90 minute massage. Granted, it is a bit difficult to find, but well worth the find! I have had many massages all around the world and I must say this massage experience was the best massage I have ever had. I will be back next month after I return from Europe. My therapist really paid attention to my needs, the table was warm and inviting and the whole experience was awesome. I can see why they were voted best massage in Houston. It's a tiny neighborhood spa (that's what I like about it) Definately personal and unique. more

Perfect special occasion for mother and daughter! 12/23/2011

My adult daughter and I did the couples massage together after a death in the family in order to relieve stress and celebrate life. I explained the situation when I scheduled the appointment and they matched our expectations impeccably. The facility was so cozy and stress reducing. The fresh fruit bites before the massage were also very welcoming. The staff was very attentive in asking about any special physical circumstances they should know about and was able to comply with my need for fragrance free oil. The aromatherapy during the massage was perfect and not overpowering at all. The robes were comfy and the carpet plush after standing up from the massage. The music was also just the right touch. We both found this to have been an extremely soothing experience. more

Fantastic first experience for a couples' massage 12/21/2011

This is possibly the best massage experience I've ever had. The massage itself was good, but the details surrounding it made it exceptional. They had a small selection of fresh fruit on our arrival, and a simple one-page form to let them know if we had any pertinent health issues or any requests, along with our preferred pressure. All the massage therapists were very solicitous in the best way, making sure that everything from the air temperature to the music to the heating pads under the beds were perfect. And there were great soft bathrobes for our disposal, as well as rose petals on the beds, along with really soft blankets - again, I've never had an experience like it. Great aromatherapy treatments, too. I will definitely go back. more

A really special time for me and my Hubby 11/14/2011

I took my husband here for his very first massage in his life. It was our anniversary. At first he was TERRIFIED lol, but the therapist was so awesome - he was instantly calmed. We enjoyed a nice glass of red wine and fruit in the lounge and then went into the massage room which was beautifully candlelit. After the massage my hubby said he couldn't wait to come back! What makes this a special retreat is that they only see 1 couple at a time which makes it a great place for first timers or anyone looking for a unique, upscale experience. We loved it. more

I really wanted to impress my date. It's located in a really cool historical mansion in the Heights. This place is unique and sweet. We loved it. A nice selection of cheeses and snacks a nice chardonay not to mention an awesome massage. Thanks Cristy for a wonderful anniversary and a night we'll never forget. more

woke up with sore back yesterday ... needing a great massage. I had heard about friends experiences at The Petite Retreat and decided to check it out. The owner, Crysti, was very responsive to my e-mail and booked an appointment for early evening. Crysti's protege Hillary was my masseuse; rarely have I had a better experience. For sure, check it out. more

Great massage instruction! 5/31/2011

My wife and I were visiting the Houston area and I wanted to surprise her with massage lessons and saw Petite Retreat's good reviews so decided to give them a try. I'm so glad we did! My wife LOVED the massage and the instruction as well did I. Crysti was professional and very helpful in explaining the art of massage as she coached us along. The atmosphere was relaxing and even romantic which we appreciated as a couple. Not only did we leave feeling good after a terrific massage, we also learned some helpful techniques to use on each other. more

The Ultimate Massage 5/3/2011

OMG. The name doesn't begin to describe this epic experience. I just received Crysti's "Ultimate Massage"--and if you can do it, it ain't braggin'. This combination of Swedish, deep tissue and hot stone therapy, will be hard to top. I may not have been in Heaven, but I'm convinced I saw it, from the Petite Retreat! I can't wait for my next one. more

The wife took me here for an anniversary suprise, and I loved it. The couples massage was very relaxing and professional, I couldnt ask for anything more. The place is very cozy and has some nice local artwork on display and for sale for art lovers. All in all I had a great time and felt very at home/comfortable here, and the massage was great. more

Valentines Treat 2/13/2011

I decided to treat my husband to a couples massage this year for Valentines Day and me being the procrastinator I was a little late in looking around. I contacted Crysti @ The Petite Retreat and she let me know through back and forth emails what was available that day. I was already impressed with their communication, it made me anxious and ready for the massage! So we go to the location and were running a little late (don't go I-10, go the back way!) but after calling Crysti let me know it was ok and to come anyhow. We got there and the turn of the century house was very zen. Candles lit and immediately offered wine, champagne or a mimosa. In our waiting room there were hand dipped strawberries TO DIE FOR, sandwiches and other sweets to get you relaxed. After filling our paperwork out listing what we liked we went upstairs to our own private room with candles, rose petals and two warm comfy beds waiting for us. The massages were excellent, very attentive and they listen to you if you have bad spots that are more tender. My husband has a very tense back and his masseuse did an excellent job of making him relaxed. They also use a great lotion that absorbs into your skin so you don't have that yucky oily feeling and let you take your time in getting dressed or just relaxing. With such a beautiful day it was a treat that we both enjoyed and will be back again. more

We loved it so much we prepaid for 6 months of massages! 1/15/2011

My honey and I don't get to do many romantic things so we hired a sitter and decided to try this place for a couple's package and some alone time. We LOVED it. It is so personal here and the people that work on you are the best! Our massage room was so romantic (candles, rose petals) We brought our own bottle of wine and simple had a blast. My husband realized how much I enjoyed it and decided to prepay for us to have a "Date Night" massage for the next 6 months. I am so excited to go back and can't wait for my next date with my husband. Oh and the art is beautiful. They have items from around the world SO COOL! more

What a really cool, quaint spot in Houston. Never been to the Heights before and it is really a chill, laid back spot in Houston. This spa exceeded my expectations. It was my one year anniversary and really wanted to impress, if ya know what I mean. The owner was so nice to recommend what treatments to get and even arranged for me to have a dozen red roses for her when we were done. The art was a nice touch and so were the countless candles in our massage room as well as the rose petals all over the massage tables. Even I felt romantic and I'm a dude!! HIGHLY recommend. more
