Best

I love it here. This is definitely one of my favorite Hollywood spots and I try to frequent the club with friends as much as possible! This is really a great spot...you just need ...

Worst

If you are going for dinner than this place is great, but I would not recommend staying for the club. This place has gone down hill.

Not All That 12/26/2002

I agree with the previous rating. Being on the guest list doesn't guarantee your way in. And when you get in, be prepared to get stared at by old, pushy men and a lot of women haters. But that's ok if you know what you got and don't worry so much about others. On the other hand, the dance floor was spacious. The music, however, was unmoving played by a dj who used cds and played 4 year old music till the very end of the song. It seemed like forever when I was dancing. I was wishing that he would mix to another song already. Pros: Spacious Dance floor, Ambience Cons: Stuck-up Doormen, Bad Music, Bourgeois attitudes more

The place to get toasted! 12/23/2002

I came here as a guest for a company christmas party. There was a feast of food. I mean the tri tip ruled! And the mashed potatoes! I wish it was a gigantic vat that i can swim in with my mouth open. Theres 7 bars at this fine establishment. I got so drunk off my bum that i lost count. Probably a dozen or so rum n cokes with a couple tequila shots to wash em down. I dont even know how to dance, but at this place I actually tried! The astmosphere was great. And the bar tenders really treat you with class.. Its located right off of hollywood and highland so who knows what kind of riff raff shows up here. But thank heaven it was a company party. So no wierdos showed up on the scene! ;) Nice outdoor balcony setting aswell! Great Touch! more

Never Go Here! 12/13/2002

This Club Sucks. The people were old, the price is super expensive. This is even if you can in. The people in the door are liars. Even if you're on the guest list, you aren't even guarenteed to get in. And even so you still have to pay full price. Unless you're a girl or with a group that's a majority girls YOU WON'T GET IN. Save the money parking and go somewhere else worth while. Pros: good parking, next to shopping Cons: selective list, bad service, don't give a crap more

Unnecessary wait 12/9/2002

Whether you're VIP or not, you'll end up waiting in line. My friend and I showed up at 915p one Saturday night and impatiently stood 20 minutes in a stagnant line before we joined a group of VIPs. We hoped to get in quicker, but we ended up in an even longer line that trailed around a corner. The good thing about that was that we (females) got in free. We finally made it indoors an HOUR later, only to find the place VACANT. However, slowly but surely, people came in. The drinks were appallingly sky high. Even bottled water was $4. The music was great. Mostly everything in moderation was played: hip-hop, r & b, techno, even salsa ! Pros: music, huge dance floor Cons: expensive drinks more

above and beyond 12/1/2002

Groovy, comfortable and huge. This loungy club has great views and ample space to meet a few new prospectives. Pros: classy, large, straight & gay okay more

Finally! Room to dance! 11/20/2002

I've been going to the L.A. Clubs for a few years now and even though it was always the same problems with the lines, some drunk dancing on the floor, spilling their drink on my new shoes and no room to dance - I would return. Well I'm glad I found this place! The line went quick - it was very well controlled - not like the Cattle Call at Eden - Once inside - you can't help but to notice the decor and atmosphere. The patio was big enough even for the non-smokers to get some fresh air. I like how the sec. guards wouldn't let anyone on the floor with drinks - the staff was very nice and the music was good. Did i mention they're open later than the other clubs? Pros: Big Dance floor, Lots of bars, Atmosphere/lighting Cons: Hard to find more

its the bomb, if u can handle explosions 11/19/2002

The club is great--I like something new in LA-Granted I was either on special invite/ or VIP list all times I went there. I have heard the regular price is a little steep-but all clubs now-a-days are. Thats why they call it a cover charge, cause thats just what it is- A COVER. Best tip: get on the VIP list, or go with someone who is. Great Time I promise. Music could be better-but I met a lot of nice people inlcuding the staff (rare these days) Parking cheapest in LA too!!! Only $2.00 Pros: atmosphere, people, parking Cons: mundane-music, entrance fee, pricey more

overpriced but fun 10/17/2002

We went to this place not too long ago, and somehow got in the club right away. We took the train from North Hollywood and ended up at the Highlands. The redline stops right under the building. The music was good and the drinks were FABULOUS!! We were not expecting the crowds or the prices. Overall it was a blast, though. If you take the train, remember the last train leaves at 1am...we missed it and had to take a taxi back to N.H. :) more

Glitzy Garbage 10/4/2002

This is nothing but a place for hollywood wannabees. It is glitzy garbage for people who thinks they are with the ""in"" crowd. To see and be seen but it is all a put-on and crass. Too commercialized and another way for hollywood greedy entreprenuers to squeeze more dough from you. The place cries out with plastic hollowness and everybody thinks they are somebody. There is no substitute for the informal smaller clubs on Sunset. If you are a socially insecure creature it's a place for you. LOSERS. more

Girls get your guy here! 9/22/2002

This is a great place! Great food, great party, and very elegant!! Okay, I admit, I'm now a regular. But the greatest thing of all are the guys - if you look. I'm not talking about the flashy, cologne submerge ones. I like the humble, real, and different one. You have to look though. My only regret is that I can never find the one who has the sexy, hormone catalyzing, voice you get lucky enough to hear on the phone. I'll find him one day! Overall a great place! What other place closes at 3am?!!!! Pros: crowded, good looking crowd, good parking Cons: hard to get in more

DANCE YOUR ASS OFF AT BABYLON 8/11/2002

I'VE ONLY GONE THEIR ON SUNDAYS FOR ""BABYLON"", BUT CONSISTANTLY HAVE AN AMAZING TIME. IF ALL ELSE FAILS GO WHEN BABYLON IS ADVERTISED. Pros: THE PATIO, STAGE Cons: LIGHTING, PARKING more

Fabulous! 8/5/2002

It's the best club I've been to in all of Los Angeles. The staff and service are excellent and the atmosphere is great. more

The women are hot here! 7/23/2002

I love this place and I've spent a lot of time here... and money. The entertainment is great --- a good variety of DJs, lighting effects, dancers, etc. and there is a nice core crowd that comes week after week. Beautiful women and lots of them! The drinks might not be cheap, but they are strong and the bartenders are good. more

must see experience 7/23/2002

The Highlands is a very well managed and executed night extravaganza. For such a dramatic, large, uber-hip location, they hold the details together with panache! A must see experience. Pros: Vibe, exciting, visually stimulating more

SEXY & CLASSY!! 7/22/2002

I got hooked on this place the very first time I went! The club is beautiful, the crowd is hot, the music bumps, and the view is amazing! By far the best club in L.A.!! more

Worth iIt 7/19/2002

I always have a great time at the Highlands. There is a line, but it'd worth it. If you have dinner, you never wait and there is no cover charge! The food and service is incredible. If you like to dance, there are several rooms with different DJ's. The go go dancers are hot. The outside patios are the best... there's no better view in LA. Pros: Service, Food, Security more

CRAZY!SEXY!COOL! 7/10/2002

My boyfriend and I celebrated my birthday here last Sat. night. We had a blast! Everyone working the club was super cool, the drinks were worth the $$ and the place is just BEAUTIFUL! There are so many places to chill in this club. The music rocked, and getting a drink is easy...7 bars... HELLO! If you're looking for a great place to hang out, you won't be dissapointed. P.S. Thanks again, J.C. Pros: Atmosphere, Friendly bar tenders, Music Cons: Guest list more

Earning a paycheck? Avoid this place! 7/6/2002

Would you like to wait for an hour, even though you were already on the guest list, to be told you have to pay $20 instead of $15 to hang out with the 100's of teeny boppers that walked through? After the security check, when you question the door price, the rude and obnoxious clerk and body guard will tell you to go back to the line to get tickets from line keepers who previously would walk away and leave you hanging in mid air when you try to ask them a question. The power tripping security guard and clerk scream at you to either pay or walk out. This is not any way to treat women or men for that matter. As a strategy consultant who has worked in Manhattan for three years, I have never seen this kind of customer service or behaviour! more

10 7/3/2002

I haven't had this much fun in Los Angeles in years! I went on a Saturday and danced my pants off. I been to all the hot spots in LA, and although nice, small and intimate, they do not compare to the Highlands. The staff, the music, the view: all great. more

Why the hype? 6/20/2002

Why do people hype up this club so much? When first of all the price to get in is $20.00 and if you don't get there early you can not get in if you are not on the guest list. Luckily I got there with my friends right before they open at 10:00pm. I was told that this was an ""A"" class club, I hardly doubt that! Seriously doubt it! Although the inside of the club is nice and roomy, the music is not all that. The DJ needs to learn to mix his music,I hear better mixing at a local bar in my area than I did that night. I must say though that the bartenders are super nice and attend you right away. At least I can thank the management for having good bartenders. So a thumbs up for them and the great mixed drinks! more
