Dated, Overpriced, and Bad Location 11/7/2009

Can't quite figure out why this hotel is so high priced except that it's close to the cruise ship docks and the quite comfy sitting room literally overhangs the harbor. Totally inaccessible by walking to anything interesting to do in Seattle. Mediocre overprices restaurant and bar and nothing good close by. Beds are GREAT but rooms and baths are date. + NO, NO personal service (a teddy bear on my bed is supposed to make up for not being recognized by any staff?). Roms are down long winding halls. Cool site if you are a diehard Beatles fan but for a lovely time in the Emerald City, go elsewhere!!! more

Overnight at Edgewater 11/6/2009

We stayed overnight at the Edgewater on election night 2009. The room was impeccable and pristine clean. We had dinner there. We ordered from the set menu, $30 for a 3 course dinner. The food was excellent and beautifully presented, and the service was perfect. All in all we give them 5 stars more

Incredible view and decor 9/19/2007

LOVE the Edgewater, tho can't afford it often! Had a wonderful room - vaulted ceiling, flat screen TV, shojo doors between bath and bed, stone floor in bath, fireplace, incredible water views, warm NW log decor. Attentive staff. more

Nice but a little too Cute + Staff not helpful @ Seattle transit 1/10/2007

Teddy bears on the beds? Plueesse! If I wanted that I'd stay at a B&B. Waterfront lobby , restaurant and lounge are a soothing respite from the city but it is a long walk to any other venues. Beds are quite good, bathrooms nice but not special for the price, fireplaces a comforting touch but one still hears the rooms next door. The concierge/bell staff must thrive on town car/taxi tips because they know nothing about Seattle transit even though the trolley substitute (that connects to Seattle's very good Metro system) stops right by the hotel. Spendy. more

GORGEOUS! 5/7/2006

I haven't ever had the priviledge of staying here, but attended a wedding for my cousin here. Absolutely amazing. Their reception was held in one of the rooms right on the water. The catering staff did an amazing job with the food, and the hotel staff did an amazing job of making sure their reception went off without a hitch. Definitely a 5 star location for a wedding! more

Great place to stay 11/14/2005

I love the Edgewater located at the waterfront. The hotel staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant located inside the hotel is delicious but remember to make reservations. A walk to the nearby waterfront shops is only a few minutes away. Must remember to watch the gorgeous sunset during the summer months, it is an amazing sight! more

Very nice hotel 9/21/2005

We LOVE this hotel!!! Everything about it is beautiful from the interiors to the dining, the bar and the views! We had many guests stay here for our wedding, and they were taken care of by the staff and have said they will stay there again. The theme is kinda woodsy so don't expect luxe surroundings. And it's within walking distances of many places. I highly recommend this hotel. more

Stay where the Beatles stayed. 8/21/2005

If you rested here before 2000, you recall the old furniture and waterfront-meets-bed-and-breakfast attempt at décor. Fortunately, the Edgewater has since undergone a massive renovation, complete with a great view bar and happy hour standard that actually make you want to stay at your hotel. The rooms are spacious enough, and if you're lucky enough to get a bayside balcony, its one of the best ways to spend a night in Seattle. The hotel still beams proudly over the shot of the beatles fishing out of the side of the building -- I'm really hoping that whatever they caught, they threw back. more

A Good Choice for Visitors 8/20/2005

I like the Edgewater. I've stayed there several times over the years. It has a "Northwest" ambiance, with a lot of exposed wood. But the coolest thing about it is its rather eccentric history. It's famous for the time the Beatles fished for salmon directly from their room window. Now that activity is expressly forbidden (probably because the fish would be dangerous to eat!), but the fact remains that you are resting on a pier, over the water, with spectacular views across the harbor to downtown. Good location. It's a fairly long, but do-able walk uphill to Seattle Center, and the waterfront trolley runs right by, so it's a snap to get to other interesting areas like Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square, Safeco and Qwest Fields, and the International District. The restaurant is also quite good. Unfortunately, in recent years, they have gotten quite proud of themselves, and the prices are, to my mind, quite a bit higher than they should be. more

Room with a View 8/17/2005

The only hotel in Seattle located on the water, although they are currently building a Marriott close by. Rooms are small but cozy with electric fireplaces. Four stories, interior corridors. I'd say the best feature is being located on the waterfront and the balconies. It almost feels as if you're on a cruise ship. Puget Sound is very busy, so it's nice relaxing on the balcony watching watercraft cruise by. The lobby is stunning and rustic with high beamed ceilings, a fireplace and great views of the harbor. Rooms are expensive but worth it if staying for a short period of time. We were only there one night. more

    Edgewater's owners deserve credit for jazzing up what was a fading property--recent remodels have created a wood-trimmed, rustic air. Inside, the mountain-lodge decor lobby is complete with a huge elk antler chandelier and stylized totem poles. With floor-to-ceiling windows and an unimpeded view of Elliott Bay, the Olympics serve as a magnificent backdrop.
