Good crepes 1/24/2011

Went here after my wife had a craving for crepes. I'm not a huge crepe fan, but these were pretty good. We'll probably go back at some point. more

Worst dining experience of my life! 12/25/2010

I came to the Crape Cafe with my husband and two kids ages 4 and 6. After we got seated and ordered we waited for an hour for our food to arrive. I noticed that the two tables seated after us got served first. When I questioned the waitress about this she rolled her eyes and in an annoyed tone explained that they only had two crepe makers so the smaller party had to be served first and the order of seating did not matter. By the time our food arrived my kids were miserable and hungry and so was I. The food was definitely not worth all the wait and the service was very poor. Never coming back again. more

Okay food , way overpriced, tiny portions 10/13/2010

We ordered a French onion soup a westchester crepe and a caramelized banana crepe. The soup was okay - nothing great. It came in an 8 ounce cup and was priced at $7. The savory crepe had a few slices of tomato, a little caramelized onion some spinach leaves and a few slices of avocado. We were sharing the crepe and when it was first served, I thought the chef had split into two and the waitress would get the other half for my wife. Next came an empty plate. It was the full crepe and the size was no bigger than a 5 inch by 5 inch sandwich. This crepe was $15. The taste was decent. The desert crepe was a disaster. The cream cheese filling was overpowering and the crepe was not fully cooked. The caramelized bananas were pretty good. At the end of the disaster we were still hungry and forked out $40 for the night. We then ended up getting a $6 foot-long at subway after this experience. more

French Flair and Hospitality 7/7/2010

I love eating here on a sunny morning with a friend, grabbing a table outside and people watching. The servers still pay attention to outdoor tables, but you get respite and a chance to chat the day away! I really enjoyed the fruit crepe of the day last time, it had strawberries, blueberries, and banana in it, creme fraiche too. Yummmy. We had a veggie crepe too which was so friggin delicious I probably drooled. It was Alcena's Crepe: 2 eggs, saut?ed spinach, mushrooms, caramelized onion and garlic in a warm crepe. Drool. Just thinking about it makes me hungry. So, you can get coupons for this place through the Entertainment Book, Groupon or Living Social Deals at times, and sometimes other places. The servers are sweet and can make your stuff to order if you have special needs/likes. Check it out! You'll be happy you did (according to me). Pros: Stuffed, huge crepes, nice servers, frequent coupons! Cons: The crepes can be too filling, beverages are quite pricey more

Yummy crepes 4/28/2009

The caramelized banana crepe is divine, and much more substantial than the dinner crepe I ordered. The ambiance is charming, like a cozy cafe in Paris, and it's a nice spot for a glass of wine and a light meal. The food was very good but, unfortunately, the happy hour food specials weren't really a great deal and the final bill was a little too high to make it a place I would go back to often. Pros: The crepes are delicious Cons: Happy hour portions are tiny, prices are a little high more

Delicious crepes 4/28/2009

Great ambiance in this neighborhood restaurant. Went there for happy hour and loved the wine selection and generous wine pours for the price. Crepes were very unique and very tasty - although portions for the savory crepes could be larger to match the prices. Pros: dessert crepes are amazing more

Great Place! 3/23/2009

We've been here twice now and I have been very happy with this quaint little place. It has a very authentic parisian feel. The waitress/hostesses we had have been very nice and accomodating both times. Very good service here. I think that the mushroom medley I had and the pesto crepe that my bf had the first time were far better than the 2 we had this weekend, J's and blame it on rio... But thats more of a personal taste issue. The dessert crepes so far have been excellent. The texture is perfect. Would definitely recommend! Pros: Charming, great crepes and service! Cons: Smaller place, need a few more tables more

Amazing crepes, cute ambience 4/2/2008

Went to Crepe Cafe after reading a glowing review in the newspaper, and it was right! This place knows how to do crepes! Absolutely delicious savory and sweet crepes. I highly recommend the ""Blueberry Farm"" fruit crepe, which was bursting with fresh blueberries, homemade whipped cream, and a yummy not-too-sweet blueberry compote. Every crepe on every table looked good. The savory crepes, loaded with meat, cheese and veggies, are enormous. Two people could easily share one. They do great cappuccinos and lattes too. Pros: Amazing Parisien and ""nouveau"" crepes Cons: Tables very close together, tight spaces more

Cute, quaint & delicious! 2/27/2008

This restaurant is a great date place and a great place to share a bottle of wine with friends. My husband & I like to sit at the little bar, share a crepe and a glass of wine and watch the cook make crepes. Service has always been great. The last time we were there we were served by the owner. She was very attentive and friendly. My personal favorites are The Westchester, a yummy crepe with swiss cheese, avacado, carmelized onions, roma tomatoes, and spinach; Julie's Salad, full of asparagus, avacado, artichoke hearts, tomato, and toasted almonds; and The Nutella Banana dessert crepe! Heaven! Pros: Ambience, Wine List, Personal Service, Julie's Salad, Dessert Crepes Cons: Small dining area more

RUDE! 2/23/2008

The first time I went there, the waitress was extremely rude and stuck up. When I asked her about their wine list she acted like I was incapable of reading and did not take the time to suggest a white wine that would pair well with my crepe. Pros: small place i.e. 4 tables max Cons: the terrible service!!!!!!!!! more

Cozy hidden spot 8/27/2007

This place is great. It is TINY - but it always makes me feel like we have found a gem. The menu is small, doesn't change - but I always find something great there. Plus they have great seasonal specials. The wine list is amazing - we always order a bottle. Make sure to order a savory dinner crepe, and a dessert crepe - they are both perfect. If you can, sit at the bar - watching them cook adds to the whole thing. Pros: FOOD, wine, portion size Cons: slower service, small menu, few specials more

Absolutely MIND BLOWING Food 5/28/2007

This place is so good. There is not a bad thing on the menu. Great for romantic dinner dates or a fantastic brunch. Very friendly wait staff, pretty prompt seating, and absolutely mind blowing food. You must try this restaurant. They have a huge variety of crepes and panini, as well as great tasting salads and wine. I highly recommend Crepe Cafe. Check out their website for menus and wine tasting events. more

Absolutely Fabulous 5/9/2007

Oh my gosh, sooooo good. We went on Half Price Wine Night (Tuesdays) and got a great bottle of wine for only $8 each. The food was AMAZING. Delicate, flavorful, and filling! We each had a regular crepe (J's Crepe and Heaven's Crepe) and a petite (Blueberry and Peanut Butter Chocolate) for dessert. We were stuffed, without being weighed down. A very cute place! Cons: Tables a little close together more

A fantastic restaurant! 4/21/2007

The crepes are extremely good: fresh ingredients and artfully-prepared plates. Service is fast and attentive. The place is very small, though, so expect to be jammed up close to another party. Top-notch romantic date restaurant! Oh, and if you go to their website to look at their menu, download the PDF files because the items that they show simply on the webpage are only a LIMITED number compared to what they actually have! The PDF files list all of the dishes. Pros: Service, Food, Wine, Ambiance Cons: Crowded, Small more

Wonderful Crepes and great service 8/21/2006

Very romantic little restaurant with delicious crepes and great customer service. I highly recommend it. more

Delicious food and great service! 9/4/2005

Between the two of us, we had almost one of everything on the menu. The tomato bisque soup was very tasty, the savory crepes were outstanding, and the dessert crepe - Nutella banana - was a perfect ending! The service was tremendous; we never had to ask for anything and the food came quickly. The quaint cafe had nice atmosphere. I can't wait to go back! I was so impressed that as we left, I told the chef how absolutely delicious everything was and that I couldn't wait to come back! I'm looking forward to also visiting with a glass of wine. more

A wonderful neighborhood find. Small, romantic, with exquisitely flavorful crepes. Dinner for 2 cost us $50 with wine. Friendly helpful staff. Pros: Food, Atmosphere Cons: Cost more
