Best

I must say once I ate here ... I will not ever go back to Ihop -Denny's... Why ??? The Breakfast club is the Best Breakfast to my soul.

Worst

I recently moved into the apartment building not too far from this Breakfast Klub and decided to treat myself to some breakfast today. The restaurant is your typical, poorly ke...

TBK Keeps it light ... 1/2/2006

After reading the most recent review on my favorite spot, I felt led to emphasize the fact that everything is not pork nor fried. The Breakfast Klub not only offers an excellent chicken soup, they also offer grilled chicken, grilled pork chops, grilled fish, and chicken and tuna salad for the ideal light lunch. The breakfast menu also has turkey, veggie omelettes, and a fruit cup. I felt this information would be helpful to all of those who just made those resolutions ( like me! ) Here's to being fit in '06 ! more

SO PASS THE BUCK BECAUSE THE BUCK IS NOT A STAR ANYMORE Pros: great food, great service, great atmosphere Cons: closed on sunday, closes early (2or3), it more

From The Pig or Deep Fried 10/18/2005

To the typical restaurant frequenter, people prefer more variety. Everything in The Breakfast Klub is either Deep Fat Fried (chicken) or comes off the pig (pork chops, bacon, ham, sausage)...well, except the waffles. I've given them three well-spaced chances to not have lumpy grits...they failed each time. Good value if you're looking for cheap fried foods or pork. Waffles are good. Always crowded because it's small. Wouldn't mind going if they had a low-grease menu (and maybe Turkey alternatives for meats). My blood pressure went up writing this review...and I don't have blood pressure problems. BUT...people seem to love it...so please go and support this time-tested Black business...especially if you are hip, trendy and want to see people and be seen by other trendy people. Heck, you might like waffles, lumpy grits, pork portions and fried chicken first thing in the morning. HAPPY DINING! Pros: Inexpensive, See & Be Seen Crowd, Artist Spotlights Cons: Low Variety, Always a Line, Limited seating area more

The Best I've Had In A Long Time 10/2/2005

The Breakfast Klub is a MUST the list. I've heard of the Breakfast Klub through a friend, and finally made it my business to check it out. I took a very good friend of mine from Atlanta, Denise Matthews (Clothing Designer) to have brunch there. She said ""it was better than some of the places in ATL"". The line was wrapped around the corner, but it was well worth it. As we stood in the line, we were given menus, muffins or fruit as we waited. That was a plus! There was face painting and a gospel group outside singing. Finally we got to the inside and the atmosphere was great. The service was excellent. The wait staff was very friendly, the food to die for. I woke-up Sunday morning, warmed up my left over, and it was as if it was fresh out the kitchen. Brian Keith Model/Actor more

Everthing here is EXCELLENT! Every member of the wait staff couldn't have been more kind and hospitable. The energy and vibe was so positive that I almost felt like I was on vacation. The food was delicious and fresh-- like eating a home cooked meal filled with love. Tears of joy came to my eyes. I highly recommend The Breakfast Klub to anyone who loves great service with great food. more

An addictive substance in the grits!!! 4/28/2005

No restaurant in the Houston area has the ability to top the grits that are made at Breakfast Klub. The service is EXCELLENT. Other food, whether it's wings and waffles, pancakes, green eggs and ham, or the lunch special, is EXCELLENT. I can't say enough about this place. We haven't been to IHOP or Denny's since....... more

this place makes me crave breakfast 4/20/2005

Found out about The Breakfast Klub from the Houston Press, voted best breakfast in 2004. The Press was right-on in my mind, this is the best breakfast I've had in a restaurant in many years. I tried the breakfast platter and everything on it was great. The bacon was cooked to a perfect crispness, the toast reminded me of the buttery texas toast that we all love, and the eggs were nice and fluffy. The potatoes could have been a little more done, but thats just my preference, they were still good. Can't wait to come back and try some more menu items that are just calling my name like the waffles and wings, breakfast sandwich, and green eggs and ham. Pros: friendly staff, delicious food more

Perfect 10!!!!! 12/24/2004

While visiting Houston I was taken to this eattery and I loved it. When you arrive don't be surprised when you see the line outside of the door because the food is truly wonderful. The dish that every visiter must try is the ""Fish and Grits"". The grits are so fluffy and buttery that they melt in your mouth, and the fish, is perrrfection. I tell everyone who will be visiting the Houston area to check this place out because it is truly worth the visit. Pros: Inexpensive, Big portions, Great Service more

I love the ambience of this place! It's in a great location and the food is really good. The diverse crowd is a plus as well. You've got to try it if you haven't already. Parking is tight but it's worth it. Pros: ambience, food, value more

Great Place for Breakfast 8/2/2004

The Breakfast Klub is one of my favorite places for breakfast. Everything I have had has been well prepared. Service has been outstanding and helpful. Best gravy I have had in a restaurant. Almost as good as my grandmother's. One of the more racially diverse crowds I have seem in Houston. more
