Best

I must say once I ate here ... I will not ever go back to Ihop -Denny's... Why ??? The Breakfast club is the Best Breakfast to my soul.

Worst

I recently moved into the apartment building not too far from this Breakfast Klub and decided to treat myself to some breakfast today. The restaurant is your typical, poorly ke...

Horrible way to start the day 7/31/2007

The instant I walked in , I noticed the heavy atmosphere. I did not like it, however pressed for time I needed my coffee. I ordered the breakfast klub with coffee and that's it. Not a whole 3 minutes later my plate arrived with my sandwich swiming in grease. I had a mount of potatoes on my plate which I didn't know I ordered and was charged $2.50 for it. I did not eat the potatoes as they were cold and stale. My sandwich was cold, greasy, dry and a digestive problem at best. I must say the coffee was very good. The waitress stood half way across the room and asked me if all was ok. Of course it wasn't but i did not feel like complaining. I do not recommend this place for new people in town, nor for people wishing to watch their health. Pros: coffee Cons: prices too high, food greasy and cold, more

Can't get better 7/28/2007

My favorite breakfast place to hang out. I'm here 2-3 times per week before I go to Ambiance for my treatments. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, the people are friendly. I can't say enough good things about it. more

Best breakfast and customer service, HANDS DOWN! 5/25/2007

I've visited The Breakfast Klub several times since my initial visit, but last month we decided to take the kids. My 12 year old girls nearly Passed Out she thought it was the best place next to Laser Tag. The service was wonderful as usualy, and the owner stopped by the table to chat with the kids, and give my daughter tips on how to eat the Fried Pork Chops (finger food he called it). Will definitely go back many many more times. Pros: Great food, and even better service. Love chicken & waffles! Cons: Parking, but what do you want it's downtown and free. more

One of the best restaurant experiences anywhere 2/21/2007

We ate at the BK for the first time recently. It was mid-morning on a Saturday and the line was around the block. It took about 30 minutes to move through the line, which ends at an ordering counter. We placed our order and my wife headed for a table while I got our drinks at the fountain. By the time I got to the table (1 minute later), our food had arrived. My first thought was that they had inventoried popular dishes and I would find my food suffering from the effects of a heat lamp or cold. Not so, our food could not have been any fresher or hotter. Pros: Great food, unmatched service Cons: Not a good choice when raining due to the line more

best home-cooked southern breakfast 11/20/2006

probably one of the few spots in houston that specializes in home-cooked southern meals, especially for breakfast. a quaint and laid-back dining experience in midtown. during the morning hours it gets really crowded ... the line actually wraps around the corner of the building ... and parking may be bit of a problem during peak hours. but the wait is worth it~! you won't be disappointed with the huge portions and the downright southern hospitality!* Pros: good home-cooked southern breakfast Cons: crowded, parking more

AWESOME! 11/8/2006

This is a fantastic, inexpensive, overall wonderful experience. The service is promt. The people are polite, and the food is GREAT! This is a great place to stop by and get your day going with all the wonderful selections for breakfast! more

Greay Place to try 10/31/2006

They actually have a plate with Chicken & Waffels. Its my favorite, you get a big waffel surrounded by about 6 delicious wings. The atmoshpere is great as well. Get there early for lunch because A line forms that goes outside the door! more

Good Value Food 10/30/2006

This place can get very crowded, but with good reason! First impression from the outside wasn't that great, but that all changed when I went in for the first time. I ate there with my girlfriend a few weeks back and we thought it was a great place. We both felt that the portions were a good size and a good price (I had an omelet and she just had a breakfast plate). Our only complaint was that the restaurant isn't open later (because we aren't morning people). If I'm ever up that early again, I will definitely consider going back to this restaurant. Pros: Great breakfast. Cons: Small parking lot. more

Once was enough.... 9/11/2006

I went one day day after visiting the museum with my son and some friends and we decided we would never go back after our experience. The line moved fairly quickly not a lot of variety on the menu and the portions were small for the price. The waiter we had SUCKED BIG TYME! He literally threw my friends toast on the table after asking ""Who had the toast?"" in the rudest tone possible. Marcus saw the disgust on our face as we left and asked that we come back at least one more time to give them a second chance. I told him yes, but we were all in agreement once we walked out that we would never set foot in that establishment again. Cons: Menu, wait staff more

Great food/ try not to go on the weekend 9/8/2006

Excellent soul-food style breakfast. Wonderful coffee. Looooong lines on the weekend with insufficient seating space. We will return on a weekday. Pros: excellent breakfast Cons: long lines and insufficient seating, crowded on weekend more

Divine forces in the kitchen 8/29/2006

I'm not a fan of catfish or chicken wings, or grits for that matter... BUT I believe that there are divine forces at work in the kitchen at the Breakfast Klub, that elevate these humble victuals to a higher plane. These ain't no instant grits... they have body, texture... and butter! And the wings... they are what fried chicken wishes it could be, and paired with waffles and maple syrup - heavenly. The catfish is nice and firm, perfectly seasoned and fried, and has no equal anywhere. And for pete's sake, have a biscuit. They are so good, you'll think twice before putting jelly on them. I couldn't do it. Pros: the food, the coffee, the interesting crowd Cons: the line (but it moves pretty quickly) more

Huge Omelet!! 8/26/2006

I went on a Saturday morning around 11am and it was packed but totally worth it. While you are waiting for your table, you get to hang out in the ""market place."" The market place is where the fun begins! Live music and vendors selling homemade products. Every person there seemed to be in a great mood. If you want an atmosphere with good wholesome fun and great food with large portions then this is the place for you. I can't wait to go back again! more

Huge Pancakes 8/10/2006

I love pancakes. I just can't get enough of them. The Breakfast Klub gave me plenty, and more. I went early Friday morning and there wasn't much of a line. Service was fast. Everything was excellent. I can't wait to go back! Pros: Terrific Pancakes Cons: suprisingly small. be there on an early weekday and there won't be much of a line. more

Wonderful Breakfast AND Lunch 7/17/2006

Okay, I know that this restaurant has enough supporters and my review will fall in a vast sea of HIGHLY RECOMMENDED reviews but I have to say something. I love going here for Breakfast on Saturday (by the way, I recommend you getting there before 9 to beat the line). The chicken and waffles, catfish and grits, EVERYTHING is superb. The service is always good and everyone is so friendly. However, for those that are not aware . . . they serve an excellent lunch as well! On Friday they have a seafood fettuccini. . UNBELIEVABLE!!! If there was anything I could ask of this place it would be PLEASE EXPAND!!!! Thank you Breakfast Klub for bringing breakfast Pros: Superb Service and Food Cons: n/a more

A Must Visit 7/2/2006

I waited in an extremely long line to get into the Breakfast Klub. The minute I tasted my hot chocolate, I decided that the wait was worth it just for that alone. I had the Waffle & Wings. The waffle had to be the most perfect waffle I've ever had and the best tasting, well seasoned wings.... EVER. The wait was bated by the fact that there were vendors and music to help pass the time. Pros: Food, Hot beverages, Staff & Service Cons: Line more

Best Breakfast in Houston 6/29/2006

Everything is great, coffee is great, good crowd, nice atmosphere. Line was long but moves fast and is a good place to catch up on gossip with strangers. Pros: food, coffee, atmosphere Cons: line more

Simply the best breakfast in Houston! 6/23/2006

The staff is very friendly. The food is fantastic! Everything from the eggs to the potatoes have a slight kick to them. Their food is not bland like so many breakfast restaurants serve. I also love the option of grilled turkey breast in lieu of sausage or bacon! I drive in on Saturdays from Katy to have breakfast there! I simply love ""The Klub""! Pros: Great Food, Great People, Awesome Coffee Cons: Twenty four miles from my house! more

Best Coffee & Breakfast in town! 1/23/2006

Simple, no frills! The coffee is great as well as the food. You feel right at home the moment you hit the door. From time to time you may have to wait but it is well worth it! Pros: Reasonable Prices, Great Coffee & Food more

Best Catfish and Grits EVER 1/4/2006

The first time I went to The Breakfast Klub was during the 40-day lenten season, and as a somewhat practicing Catholic, I decided to give up meat during this time. I couldn't eat any chicken or pork, so I got the Catfish and Grits, and it was GREAT! I never had Catfish that tasted that good, or grits that had texture that perfect. Like any restaurant, The Breakfast Klub is a place to go in moderation, and not to go everyday so that you might get high blood pressure. I highly recommend this place for breakfast! Pros: Catfish, Grits , Malt Waffles Cons: Long Lines, Small Space more
