Best

best thai food I have ever had the pud thai four stars gets 5 stars

Worst

I read the reviews as to how great this place was so I went cuz I am a HUGE fan of Thai food. The food is good but it would be way way way better without all the sugar the dump in...

Spicy, but good 8/22/2005

Thai Tom has a busy, chaotic atmosphere that seems to match the spiciness of the food. I cannot seem to get the curry to be mild enough for me, which is too bad, because it is made of fresh vegetables and cooked to order. If you’re okay with spice, this is a great place to get an inexpensive and high-quality meal. more

Thai Tom's= tasty 8/16/2005

Often as the "Best Budget Thai Food in Seattle"- I recommend the pad Thai, though I've had better pad see-ew. Tom of Thai Tom's can also be found in the Nevada desert some summers attending Burning Man, an arts festival, where he makes a mean iced pineapple drink. Look him up. Ooh, also, I believe they deliver now! more

good thai food 7/1/2005

I liked the food at a Thai Tom when I ate there, although it had been built up to me to be the best Thai restaurant ever, and I didn't necessarily think it was THAT great... a couple things there really were great, like one dish that had a lot of bean sprouts, but some of the other dishes tasted like normal good Thai food to me. more

Good but spicy 6/30/2005

My first time at Thai Tom taught me the importance of ordering the lowest level of spice if you aren't sure of your tolerance or their scale. I ordered one star and had to eat 3 spoonfulls or rice to each spoonfull of curry. The curry was well-priced and high quality, but I would definitely go safe on the side of spice. more

What You Can Find at Thai Tom's 6/24/2005

Thai Tom’s is a small Thai restaurant in the heart of the University District. When I say ‘small’ I mean that there are only four tiny tables and some bar stools right in front of the chefs cooking area. Although the service is unpredictable and their policy on to-go orders (add $1) does not make sense, there is always a line of people waiting to be seated. Their chicken phad thai is to die for. Served with some white rice and a lime, this phad thai is like no other. Once you go there I promise you will be craving for more the next day! more

Amazing Thai food in tight quarters 6/7/2005

If you LOVE thai food, then this place is a must. I never even knew it existed until about a year or so ago, and now I can't stop going. I have never tasted better Thai food. Also, 2 people can easily get out of there for around $16-17 with tip. There are two things that are slightly annoying about this place though (nothing that will make me lower my rating). First, it's very small, and if you don't go there at an off time, you are very likely to wait 45+ mins to get your seated/food. Many times though, they will take your order as you are standing there to speed things up. Second, as another reviewer mentioned, its not the cleanest place, but I won't tell if you don't. It's kinda what makes it so perfect. more

How Spicy You Like 5/23/2005

A true UW classic. I feel sorry for those who graduate without experiencing the famous House Salad and Swimming Rama at Thai Tom's. NOTE for you first time Thai Tommers: Forget everything you know about health codes and basic hygiene and get ready for the best Thai food of your life. more

Extremely small and dark, you might not notice that the space is pretty, with gold walls, painted bamboo lampshades and Thai art. A few tables line one wall and the open kitchen...
