Celebrating 90 years, the oldest restaurant in L.A. The restaurant is part of the Lawry group and they food is consistently great whether you're there enjoying the daily sandwich carvery or a prime rib dinner. Also, part of old Hollywood history...a favorite Walt Disney hangout. more

Excellent Restaurant 10/22/2011

My wife and I had an wonderful experience on our recent visit. Prime Rib was great good meat, properly cooked, they had great side dishes, excellent appetizers and soups. Wine selection is great. Cocktails are good not over priced. Environment is classic America we sat at the John Wayne Table. Music was playing but not on your face loud we could speak softly without yelling. Our server Jonathan was exceptional. helpful, polite and good. I strongly recommend you try this place out. Bon Appetite. more

Cocktail Bar + Scottish fare + Special events = Yes please 1/22/2010

Check out the Robbie Burns events each year, listen to the carolers during Christmastime and enjoy the Prime Rib. The duck is also rediculously tender and delicious. The staff is extremely friendly! The outfits of the servers are a kick. Go to the Roost after for more cocktails. Pros: The duck is phenomenal Cons: Call ahead of time for reservations on holidays more

Great Pub 10/27/2009

This is a great spot just to drop in and enjoy the sandwich bar and a drink. It is cozy and unpretentious in the bar. Haven't tried the dining room, it is pricy. But they treat you well in the bar. Pros: service and food more

Very underwhelmed. 12/16/2008

Very underwhelmed. Went for an anniversary dinner and will not go back. Had a reservation on a quiet night, many open tables, waited over 20 minutes, complained and got attitude from the hostess. No apology for the wait. Finally, taken to a terrible table and had to insist on another table. Food was only OK, not worth what they charged. Left a complaint on their website, no one got back to me. Never again. more

I have always wanted my boyfriend to be more romantic. We have been together for four years, and I have given up on the idea. But when I least expected it he took me to this fantastic resturant. The service was great, the food was delicious. I am sure my boyfriend wont take me out to a romantic dinner for a while, so I better enjoy this. GREAT romantic spot. Pros: Romantic more

So 7 of us went to Tam O'Shanter a couple of weeks ago for a friends birthday party. We didnt have reservations, so we told the lady that we didnt mind waiting at the bar for an hour while they found us a table. After 30 minutes the host came to us and told us that our table was being prepared for us and that she would take us shortly. We went to our table and were served water and bread and before we could order our food. The manger came and told us that "we" and taken the table from another group with reservations and that "we" were at fault and needed to move. I told the manager that it was "their" host that sat us, and it was "their" fault for sitting us. Plus, what kind of manger tells a group of customers that they were wrong? I thought that the customer was always right. He apologized for his rude tone to us and gave us free appetizers and drinks at the bar while we waited. We all went to the bar angry, but hungry and then were seated at a table next to our previous table within 10 minutes. The bill came and what we found was that he was charging us for the drinks and the appetizers that he told us were on them. He then said that he only promised one appetizer to our group and no drinks. This would have never happened at Lawry's. Pros: Looks nice outside Cons: Management more

  • With its storybook stylings, this faux Tudor cottage looks like a Disney film come to life, which is probably why Walt himself dined here daily during the '30s. Once inside, the theme continues...
