Sun Valley Lake Apartments

It's very unfortunate that the management ruined what could have been a great experience. We liked the complex location and grounds upkeep, and our apartment was not bad, minus the few upgrades it needed.\r \r Here's where the bad part comes in. After moving in, we notices some minor things that we wanted fixed. The dishwasher left soap residue and was not cleaning. It took four maintenance requests, six months, and a threat to contact the BBB before we got a working dishwasher. \r \r Our hot water was not staying hot in the shower for more than about 6 minutes (I timed it). After 5 maintenance requests and a personal visit to the office, turns out all we needed was a new shower head (the old one was not controlling the hot water being released).\r \r The seal was broken on our patio door, and moisture was getting in between the glass panes. Horrible place to live; lived here almost a year and cannot wait to get out of here. From the beginning all employees have been unhelpful and unprofessional. The day we were supposed to move in the air-conditioner was frozen, granted that happens from time to time; however should have been checked before the move in date (it smelled like it was frozen for days). When I informed the front office they said ?oh it?s probable just a leak that?s normal? it took three trips to the front office to even get them to have maintenance check the air conditioner. Aside from that we were told that we would have a parking spot close to the apartment when I parked my car there the neighbor said that was her apartment I mentioned to her that our contract states that parking space #. Later that week we both ended up going to the office and they told me ?oh your parking spot is actually another one (twice as far as the first one) this made me very upset because we had chosen this specific apart more

This is my first ever apartment experience. I was fortunately blessed with great neighbors!! The ENTIRE staff - from office to maintenance to landscaping are the best. Extremely friendly, attentive to your privacy and concerns and always professional. I felt extremely safe here and anytime I had a problem it was addressed in a very timely manner! I moved here from out of state and SUE was awesome with me and answered my thousands of questions! I was welcomed as if coming to a family reunion. Eric and the entire staff are excellent guest service. They go above and beyond in meeting your needs. They definitely adhere to the quiet hours which I appreciate. One time a neighbor was being just bit on the noisy side and the next day there were notices on our doors as reminders of the quiet hour policy. It did not happen again. The only reason I am moving is because I am relocating out of state. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions but if you treat someone with respect it will most certainly be returned here at Sun Valley Lake. more

Once again they seem good and nice when you move in. But don't let them fool you. As soon as you sign the lease they quit caring. Management is unprofessional, rude, ignorant, and unhelpful. They do not care at all to make their residents happy. They basically treat you like the scum of the earth if you call in feeling that you should have a better quality of apartment for what you pay for rent. Maintenance in the complex is atrocious. If they decide to actually complete your maintenance request (sometimes they suspiciously get lost) they don't fix things correctly and you have to continually call and get them fixed again. I have lived in a number of apartment buildings and this one is by far the most stressful and poorly managed. They have no courtesy for the residents. I think they forget that if we didn't live there, they wouldn't have a salary. I am basically in tears everyday realizing where I am forced to live for another 6 months. They were fine when I moved in but no help at all when I had to get a restraining order against my roommate. They were not professional and almost seemed to making some illegal decisions on handling the extension of my lease when it came time to renew. I got the run around until the week that I had to leave the apartment and when the general manager found out what had been going (They were refusing to let me live in my apartment because the person I had a restraining order against wouldn't sign the lease) he told them to get me to stay in any way possible. When I went down there to give my decision to them they had made the assumption that I was staying (even though I had been told twice that I was SOL and had to move). I told them that did not make that decision and that I would be willing to stay an extra month to give my 30 notice but that I did not think it was fair for them to charge me an extra 200.00 than what I was normally paying. I wouldn't recommend Sun Valley Lake to my worst enemy. They were wonderful at move in, so-so while I lived there, and a nightmare at move out. Also, be aware that people will come into your apartment with no notice. more
