We had planned on having a nice dinner for an anniversary. After visiting the Carolina Crossroads and Ruth Chris in previous years, we had planned on going to Sullivan's this time. When I tried to make reservations over the phone for a Saturday night, I was told that only parties of 8 or over could reserve tables, and that the wait would typically be around 60 to 90 minutes. I thought: ok, they do have a bar and live music, so let's just go there, have a drink and wait for a table...\r

The anniversary came, and we arrived at Sullivan's around 7. We entered and asked for a table for 2. To my surprise, the hostess asked us to follow her right away. And sure enough... this was to good to be true. After walking through the dining area, we were lead to a smoke filled corner room next to the bar area, with bar stools, and most tables empty, for good reason. The hostess told us to just sit where we liked and was about to leave. When I told asked if we could get on a wait list for the main dining area, she just said that they were booked till 9:30, and left without any further word.\r

Though the food we saw on others' tables looked good, I just don't put up with this snotty and arrogant attitude. If you don't want our business, just say so, instead of treating us like low class dirt. We walked out, across the street, and had a hearty meal and a few good pints, served by friendly waiters at the Hibernian.\r

Will we ever consider Sullivan's for a night out? Certainly not!
Cons: snotty and arrogant wait staff made us feel unwelcome
