visited studio optix for the first time. extremely thorough eye exam. excellent and knowledgable staff and one of the best selections of eyewear that I have ever seen. Thorough doctor 10/3/2005

I must recommend the doctor at this office. Very thorough. His staff leaves a lot to be desired. One seems to be friendly enough but between the cramped quarters and the prima donna's and the high price which they never discuss until they whip out the invoice for you to pay GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They are not proactive and they are never the blame. If you have insurance then your insurance company is the blame for you glasses not being ready in a timely manner (even with approval). Great doc - crap staff 8/10/2005

I have been going here for checkups for a number of years, only because the doctor is really good and thorough and does not rush you in and out. He takes his time, answers your questions and provides quality care. BUT...for all the years I have been there the staff have been unfriendly, unhelpful and often just rude. You really do get a better swelcome at Walmart and better ervice at McDonalds. Don't know why the doc puts up with these people. I have been waiting 3 weeks for contact lenses. Nobody has called me to tell me if they're in or whether they'll be late... Oh well. I don't have to go to often so I'll put up with it. Pros: great doc Cons: Staff, Apts are often late more

RUDE STAFF (too bad for the nice doctor) 6/16/2005

Too bad for Dr. Cassel, he is a nice guy and good eye doctor. Now, based on that, I really don't understand why he hires such unfriendly staff: no hellos, no smiles to the customers, barely a thank you after you've spent over $600 worth of glasses and lenses, and on top of that they make it very clear all along that you are bothering them... they must not like customers... hmm... Let's not even talk about the staff who is just downright rude to you... No, really, don't give them your business, you will regret it. Hey doc, when are you going to address this staff issue? Rude, inconcievably dumb staff. 2/6/2005

After calling in advance to confirm they carried contact lenses I was looking for, I went in to pick up a few boxes. When I got there, no one on the staff remembered talking to me on the phone and were too busy to even address me for 20 minutes. When they finally did, they informed me I would have to have my perscription faxed over. No problem, right? Well, when I asked if I could call for my doctor's number from information, the senior staff member sniped at the girl helping me, ""information costs $.40. He'll have to come back with the perscription on paper."" Not only did she speak of me in the 3rd person right in front of me, she wouldn't shoulder the $.40 it would take to make a $200 sale. Unbelieveable. Needless to say I walked out the door. Believe the reviews. Miserable people. Pros: Nice area Cons: Rude service, Small store, Long waits more

I should have read the reviews before going to this place. The doctor was nice. The staff was rude and unkind and don't belong in the service industry. A nice doctor doesn't make up for a rude staff and I will discourage everyone I can from going to this place... because I'm never going there again. Horrible Service 5/7/2003

Horrible Service. If you can, please go somewhere else. It took me 3 months (start to finish) to get four boxes of contact lenses. You always will have to follow up with them versus having them be proactive about touching base with you. more

Low Rent Service 1/21/2003

No complaints about the doctor. Pretty good, in fact, compared to some others I've gone to, both in terms of expertise and professionalism. I can see why other reviewers were upset about the service provided by his assistants. These assistants really didn't pay too much attention to the patients waiting and kind of let us know that they had more important things going on. Kinda sad really, cuz I thought the doc was good. Find another doctor.... 10/31/2002

The optometrist at this high end midtown optical store is helpful and competent... but his staff leaves much to be desired. When I first bought my glasses the office crew were not especially friendly. When I asked for my prescription several months later, I was told it wasn't available and I would have to come into the store... my insurance wouldn't pay for another visit for another couple of months, but that didn't matter. I got absolutely no where with my request for MY prescription. Needless to say I will NOT be going back here... I have actually recommended several people bk I thought the doctor was okay, they all had the same thing to stay about the uncooperative office staff.
