I went here b/c they are supposed to have an awesome frame selection, and are in my VSP network. However the frames are all in drawers, making it hard to browse. A staff member ...

rude staff 3/8/2009

I definately do not recommend to go to this place especially for an eye exam. after the Dr examined my eyes he got one of his staff members, a rude short lady wearing blue contacts and a terrible nose job to attempt to con me into buying something of theirs using my insurance. Then when I wanted to see the glasses covered by the insurance she left me at a table with disheveled trays of glasses. Pros: good selection of glasses Cons: rude salespeople and feels like meat market of eye exams more

best contact lens fit ever! 12/18/2008

I have had trouble being fit for contact lenses all my life. i have a strange prescription and have never been happy. The doctors at Studio OPtix were so professional and knowledgeable, and i can finally be comfortable AND have good vision with my new contacts. The staff was helpful and i now love to wear my glasses! Thank you Studio OPtix for giving me my sight back! Pros: great contact lenses, terrific glasses selection, helpful and nice staff more

Its all about customer service!!! 12/12/2008

As a optic aficionado I am always looking to see what is new and fashionable. I had been in Studio Optix before and had some such bad service I vowed a vandetta against them. I still stopped in from time to time to check out the selection but would rather make my purchases in a place that is a little more deserving. In one of my typical browsing sessions I was greeted by a friendly young woman. I was surprised that they actually hired friendly people, they had a such a mean streak going. She took one look at my face and immediately placed a frame in my hand. At first I was reluctant to open up to a strangers advice but I had to test it out. She was right, it was perfect. She then began to explain to me the reasons for her aesthetically pleasing pick. I was converted then and there. I had such a great shopping experience that I thought I must make good on my previous presumption. There is no substitute for service with a smile and a good conversation. \r \r BTW the young woman's name is Sara and I recommend that you ask for her.\r \r \r Mr. Nice Guy Pros: Service! more

Studio Optix Rocks! 12/7/2008

After looking around at a lot of places, I'm completely sold on Studio Optix. They have the best frames in the city and great staff to help you choose the right one for your face. The doctors there is very professional and have the latest eye technology to make sure you get the right contact lenses and glasses prescriptions. He doesn't make a show of it, but Dr. Cassel has also helped scores of people with eye deformities. With great compassion, he listens to their stories and painstakingly prepares prosthetic contact lenses that restore their\r lives. In this world of chain stores and managed care, Studio Optix takes you back to the time of personal attention and care. more

Satisfied optic customer 11/5/2008

It is important for me to compliment the staff and the doctors that are at Studio Optix. I had a red irritated eye and was referred by one of my employees needing immediate attention. The doctor was awesome, very professional and provided me a prescription for eye drops. I needed a new pair of glasses and WOW do they have great frames. They are so deep in frames as they often work in the movie and television industry (so they say and can prove it as I saw someone from SNL in there when I was buying a frame). I was a new person within a few days and very professional service. Thank you everyone at Studio Optix for helping me. more

great experience 11/5/2008

Just felt the urge to write about my emergency eye dilemma last week and to give the highest accolades to Studio Optix. i broke my glasses and needed a pair of eyeglasses ASAP. in need of a current presception i was plesantly supprised how responsive the staff was to coordinate an immediate exam (although it was very busy) which was one of the best exams ever. the eyeglasses they have are exceptiona; and very different from my last eyeglass exam and purchase in Ca. never recieved more compliments on the frame. definately an A+ all around Eyecare location!! more

My Eyes Adore You 11/5/2008

I had a great experience when I went to Studio Optix last week. I was referred by a co-worker for an eye examination, and I was more than pleasantly surprised. The eye doctor was excellent providing me with one of the most thorough exams. Dr Cassel explained everything perfectly and even took a photo of the back of my eye. They have the most high tech equipment all computerized. I found so may fun frames, having the best selection and a great staff to guide me to the perfect fit. I highly recommend this place and would definitely recommend Studio Optix to anyone. more

Best glasses and eyecare anywhere 10/28/2008

This is the coolist midtown eyewear and eyecare store you will find. Dr. Cassel is very professional and thorough, and possesses the most modern equipment available. The very knowledgable staff is patient and the selection of frames is not to be beat. Highly recommended. One note - avoid the place on lunch hours as it getsquite crowded. Pros: Professional and knowledgable doctor and staff; great frame selection Cons: Crowded during lunch hour more

Cabal of Eye-Fitters 10/9/2008

I agree with many of the other posters. This place has always kind of jived with me the wrong way because the doctor seems to have a sort of cabal of young ladies working for him. His posters of celebrities signing ""way to go Doc Mitch"" are a little cheesy too. However I could have withstood this had I not gotten charged an $107 ""fitting fee"" for my contact lenses today. I since checked around and found that most other places charge $25-50 for this. This is not covered by insurance because ""contacts are cosmetic"" the employees pointed out to me, when I balked at the cost, making me feel fairly vain and like a whiner. I wish I could get a refund and de-fit my eyes then. Not going back next year, and I will just have to throw away the reminder post-card they made me send myself today. Pros: nice frames Cons: everything else more

worst place ever 9/18/2008

If I could give Studio Optix a negative star, I would. The staff is rude, unprofessional and have no understanding of how to order prescriptions or how insurance works. I had better service at a fast food restaurant. I do not recommend this place at all unless you want to feel like you are being scammed. Stay away! more

Great Find Right Attitude 8/7/2008

I am really liking my new pair of glasses!!! I get so much compliments from everyone about them. I have never seen an eye shop like this before with so wide arrange of selection and with a doctor who is so professional and is well known in the industry. more

I am so thrilled to have found a place that has a wide arrange of frames. I felt compelled to let people know after looking this store up and reading some of these articles that it is by FAR a nice place with some cool staff who do know their merchandise and made me look SUPER fabulous once it was all said and done!!!!!! more

Hioghly recommend this place,as I received a great pair of glasses ..get a lot of compliments and the correction was perfect. Pros: location, best selection of frames more

Avoid it. 6/24/2008

This place is a rip off. The Doctor didn't even bother to ask me if I wanted a contact lense evaluation and then I was caught by surprise with a $125 fee for it. Pros: Convinient Location Cons: Super Expensive more

Redeemed themselves 3/11/2008

I originally posted a review on this site that gave Studio Optix only 1 star and explained my aggravation with the store. I have decided to post a new review after my experience today. I arrived to return my new glasses after getting them home and realizing there was something wrong with the prescription. After my disappointment with previous visits, I have to say I expected a run-around and extra costs and frustration. Fortunately, it couldn't have been more different. The staff was professional, attentive, courteous, and even nice! I met Dr. Cassel for the first time, he re-examined my eyes and corrected the prescription, even offering to expedite the service and have the new lenses back quickly. As it turns out, he had read my previous review and was very apologetic and interested in hearing my grievances. We had a very frank conversation and I left feeling confident that he valued my patronage and sincerely intended to improve service so that my disappointing prior experience would be a thing of the past. Based on today's visit, I feel that my previous experience was most likely not the norm for Studio Optix, and I may even recommend them in the future. Pros: Convenient location, attractive store Cons: Some staff less than pleasant more

Terrible Service and Lying Staff 1/28/2008

My insurance allows a pair of glasses per year based on a formula that includes the wholesale price of glasses. The staff at Studio Optix LIES about the wholesale price of frames so that the consumer would have to pay more. \r \r The staff refuses to help its own customers with frames if the frames are not bought from their store. I wanted to adjust my glasses because they are my doctor and provider but they refused to help because they did not want to be ""liable"" for breaking my glasses. If they dont help me adjust them, who else would?\r \r STAY AWAY from these people and from this store. You will REGRET going there. Pros: location Cons: high prices, terrible service, lying staff more

Excellent Studio for all your eyewear needs 9/18/2007

I told all my family members & friends & co-workers about Sudio Optix! This is the best location to go for Eyecare as they definitely care about your eye health. The staff is so helpful in deciding which frames look the best on you. They have a great selection of frames. They really make you feel comfortable. The doctor was very patient and made me understand what my eye problem was. I'll be back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!A+++++++++ \r \r more
