Had an incredible time 6/9/2011

This place is perfect for a romantic getaway or with the family! I cannot say enough about how great it was. The staff are accomodating, personable, and everyone is friendly. We used both pools, the jacuzzi, the 116 foot water slide, and got some delicious cocktails at the Tiki Bar! Patty and Barbara at the front desk made sure our stay was unforgettable! You can't beat the sunrise over the Atlantic in the morning. The fishing pier is adjacent to the property and great for an evening stroll. Downtown is only a few minutes away and there are restaurants close by. We wouldn't stay anywhere else and we didn't stay in one of the renovated rooms. You can't beat the place for the price, the accomodations, and the location. Hope everyone has as much fun as we did. We'll be back very soon! more

Can't wait to go back 6/1/2011

My husband and I found this gem back in June and now we're back in August. The location can't be beat. Our room was clean and accomodating with a marvelous view of the beach. We'd drink our morning coffee on the balcony while watching the local surfers play in the waves. The housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient with tidying up our room each day and the front desk staff were especially helpful and a pleasure to talk to. Close enough to historic St. Augustine to enjoy the sites, but quiet and relaxing if you want to chill by the ocean. We'll definitely be back in December. I highly recommend this hotel! more

So glad I chose St Augustine! 5/26/2011

I booked a room for 4 nights at this resort for myself (a single mother) and my 3 young children, ages 10, 8, and 1. I have to say that after reading the reviews, I was very skeptical of staying here with my children but thought I would chance it...so glad I did!! The staff were so delightful, they allowed us to check in about 3 hours early, got out in the night to get us supplies, and again in the night to unlock our room after we locked the key inside. The pool was fantastic, the kids had a blast sliding on the water slide and also enjoyed the indoor pool after hours as long as we kept the noise down. I could sit at the pool and look straight out to the beach, had the convenience of washing our clothes in the laundry facility before heading home, and could have used the exercise equipment if I had chosen to do so. In closing, I would like to say that this hotel is great for the price, has excellent access to the beach, and I felt completely safe and at home. When I return to Saint Augustine, I will stay here again!! more

Kids loved it! 5/18/2011

I would , and will go back again. My wife myself my grown kids of four, our grandkids of four, and my father who is 82 had a great time. Hello to Anna and her husband. The frost family will see you next year. Also the kids loved the slide. more

Great People, Great Place! 5/12/2011

Great People and Place to work with for a group event, could not have asked for more. The staff here was a pleasure to work with, in planning and executing a 3 day event. From the front desk to the kitchen, we were extremely pleased with the results. Although the rooms are not the most up dated, everyone in our group of well over 100 people was most satisfied. the rooms were clean & the beds were comfortable. The grounds, lounge, banquet rooms etc are all condussive to a great time for a couple or large group. Being literally right on the beach was excellent! There are a few things that showed a little bit of wear, but this is not priced like some of the overprices chains. The few minor concerns we had were addressed immediately. The attitude and friendlyness of the staff spoke volumes. Did not see any sign of any critters of any kind. This place is a real place for real people. If you are a prissy stiff, you might want to go down the road and spend twice as much..... lol more

Great Location 5/3/2011

Me and my Boyfriend took a vacation down in Florida and decided to stay here for a few nights. We stayed 03/31/09-04/03/2009. We stayed in room 235. I loved the room! It was one of the newly renovated rooms and I couldn't have asked for more, especially for the great deal we got! The location is great.! It was close to everything! And we could sit on our balcony and look at the ocean! It was also nice to hear the ocean at night! I loved the bathroom and the bed was very comfortable. I have posted pictures so everyone can see what a great place this is, especially for the money spent! I was leary after reading some of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised as soon as we checked in. Check in took about 5 mintues and there was even two people a head of me. There was nothing to complain about there like some past reviewers and check out took even less time. I had no problems with the room being dirty. It appeared to be very clean. I would definitely stay here whenever I am in St. Augustine and will recommend the St. Augustine Beachfront Resort to anybody I know! more

Great Price 4/20/2011

I read some of the reviews here and have to disagree on alot . I had a great time there with my family. The roms may need a little repair in some places, but far from the filthy decription I have read. The breakfast was great to an ol southern boy, Gravy, eggs, bacon. And Judy that works there was nothing but great to all of my party, going out of her way to help whenever we needed something. very reasonably priced rooms next to the beach and boardwalk. Hey it may not be a brand new hotel, aand may need a little repair in some places, but I had a great experiance and a great price, and will be staying with Miss Judy again. more

we stayed with a large group of people,and they were very nice helped with every problem we had,and I must say the food they served for dinner was top notch,it is older but for the price you cant go wrong,the rooms were clean and the bar and tiki bar was flowin I would go back more

The reviews I have read did not seem to be about the same place I stayed. The food was good, beds were comfortable, heat worked at night and AC worked during the day. Nice clean rooms 3/18/2011

My boyfriend and I stayed at this establishment on January 2, 2011 (room 235) after being on a cruise ship for a few days. We decided to take an extra day and visit St. Augustine. We did read the terrible reviews on this hotel but decided to give it a chance anyway. We checked in about 4 hours early and the receptionist was very nice and accomodating about it. They worked hard to give us a great room, which was extremely clean and obviously newly remodeled. I have to say I was nervous about staying here after the poor reviews, but was extremely pleased with our room and all staff we dealt with. All I can say is to give it a chance. It was a nice, clean room with a ocean view at a very reasonable price. Remember this is an older beachfront hotel, it will not be without the wear and tear of ocean damage. more

We loved it 2/1/2011

We enjoyed our 2 day stay on the 1st floor. My wife's bad knee and our 6 childrens enjoyment of your surf. We even stayed in a time share in Orlando, but all voted your place was best, so we hope to come back in year or so. Keep up the good work.
