Spa Uptown

My boyfriend bought me a package for my birthday that included a facial, massage, manicure, pedicure, lunch and a cosmetic consultation. It was fabulous!!! Everyone was professional and courteous, and did everything possible to make my day of pampering a special one. I was very happy from start to finish, and left relaxed, rejuvinated and polished. I have visited Spa Uptown several times this past year while in Pittsburgh and have always had a wonderful experience. It is a little harder to find since it is not a "storefront" spa, but it adds to the general ambience to over look a park vs. a street. The last pedicure I had there was wonderful. And I am always pleased with my highlights - never the streaked look. I even used their services on my wedding day. more

I have had some trouble finding a place to go get a Brazilian in Pittsburgh since I recently moved here. I had not been for a wax in a while so my growth was more like a 1st-timer. My previous salon used imported Swedish hard wax, and this was my first time with strip wax. The staffer performing my wax was nice, and it wasn't much more uncomfortable than my previous experiences. I was however not happy after leaving. The product they use to remove "stickiness" is not good so I was sticky until I could get home and wash off. I was much more swollen than ever before and woke up the next day still swollen and sore with irritation bumps all over the waxed area. I am especially dissapointed because their website advertises $45 and up and the sevice I got cost $75! That's a big difference.
