Poor service 8/26/2014

Tech showed up, didn't allow the unit to run for more than 15 minutes then said there was no problem! Less than 5 minutes after he charged me $80 and left it started leaking again. When I phoned the hotline back was told it would be another $80 for him to come back! Been waiting for my refund for 3 weeks now with no result. Called 3 times, each time told the system was down or a manager has not approved the refund. This is unacceptable. RESPONSE FROM Sobieski Services, Inc.: We apologize for the delay in getting your refund to you, as well as for not providing adequate service in the first place. You are right -- this is unacceptable. A manager will be contacting you today to resolve this. We want to thank you for providing this feedback. Not what they claim 8/12/2014

We had one associate come out to look at our HVAC and ended up signing up for the service plan due to his recommendation for the unit to be cleaned, serviced etc. We make the appointment, new associate comes out who basically does, well, nothing. Literally. If it's to be cleaned, it's extra, if we need this, extra, that, extra, etc. So to sum it up, the "servicing" is useless, does nothing, and is a complete waste of money. Oh yeah, and after the associate left our AC's fuse on the main board was magically blown out. RESPONSE FROM Sobieski Services, Inc.: Thank you for your feedback. Technician was friendly and knowledgeable. After fixing my Heat Pump, and speaking with him throughout the day, I would have gladly invited him over for dinner. Service was great and things are working as they should. more

Diagonostic visit 7/18/2014

Sobieski went out to my house to complete a diagnostic on my ac unit because it was not cooling. I contacted Sobieski because the unit in my new home was installed by your company. On the day of the appointment I was contacted at 12:04pm to be informed the technician called out sick and I would need to reschedule my noon appointment. At that point I contacted the Newark, Delaware office and informed them I had made arrangements for someone to be available at my house and had no time to cancel the last minute cancellation request. I was told to call the office back and see if arrangements could be made. After several calls I was informed I would have a technician at my home. The technician arrived and performed his diagnostic check which was $79.99. I was informed my motor blower was not functional and would have to be replaced and the unit had no warranty. The unit is ICP and was installed 04/2010 and registered by Sobieski. I was quoted at $1134.60 without a membership and with a membership I would receive a 10% discount. I thought it odd that a brand new unit only had a 2 yr warranty and contacted Summit Air for a second opinion. The second technician arrived and the diagnistic result was the same as Sobieski with the exception that the part was under warranty. I am now a client with Summit Air due to their customer service care and commitment. My unit is now running and I only paid $180.00 for the labor. I find that Sobieski provided very poor service and was only interested in making a profit. Also, Sobieski technicians do not even know about the products they install. I also found out that I had a 90 day window to submit my extended warranty for the 10yr service, Sobieski who installed all the units in my development never informed any of the new homeowners including myself and we missed out on this additional warranty. I wanted to share this experience with you and also inform that I will not refer anyone to Sobieski for services to avoid this type of experience. I feel Sobieski failed me as a client and is not trustworthy. more

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE 7/16/2014

I've been waiting 3 days for a technician to come to my home to fix my air conditioner. Every time I call I get a different excuse as to why someone is not coming out for an appointment I scheduled. Every time I call and am placed on hold I get angrier and angrier as I listen to the advertisement that says " you'll never wait around for a technician".... The management staff is not helpful in fact they are quite condescending. I don't know how the service was because I'm still waiting on the technician. I will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. RESPONSE FROM Sobieski Services, Inc.: Thank you, Ms. Wright, for expressing your concerns. We understand how frustrating it can be to have your appointment rescheduled; however, we also have a duty to protect both our customers and employees. Due to the recent storms that took place during your scheduled appointment times we had to make the necessary call to reschedule your appointments. It is highly dangerous to have our technicians working on any outdoor units during a storm, especially with lighting. We apologize for the inconvenience but this is a risk we are not willing to take. What this situation has brought to light is a need to train our employees on communicating to our customers the significant safety risks certain weather conditions may pose to our technicians, as well as the fact that we need to verify someone is at the home before we can dispatch our technicians, both of which may lead to rescheduling customer appointments. We are constantly working to improve our service to our customers and appreciate your feedback. more

Fantastic service 7/15/2014

We would like everyone to know of such a great experience we had. We had been away for a long HOT weekend and came home to no air conditioning. I am an acute asthmatic and remain indoors during extreme temperatures. I immediately called Sobieski and was promised service in a couple of hours. Our doorbell rang shortly but unfortunately we needed a replacement part which needed to be ordered. The tech was very considerate and much concerned to help due especially to my health issues. We were hoping for next day repair but weren't sure. Early the next morning we received a call that a tech would arrive within a couple of hours. Thinking back, I think it was even less time. What should have been just a quick replacement turned out to be a little more complicated. Our tech was extremely concerned to get everything up and running . He was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and very neat. He got us up and running and with these hot inflated. Temps of recent, we are so appreciative. Anyone should feel confident in knowing that customer concerns are the most important and I will always recommend SOBIESKI. Thank you from your grateful customer. Ron and Judy Regenye more

Very disappointed in the price for repairs/ feel ripped off 7/14/2014

Back in June 2012, I bought a brand new central air conditioner (and air handler) from Sobieski. To my surprise, the unit sprung a leak in my basement exactly 2 years later. Hmm. I wondered how a stationary, low stressed part like a drain pan could crack…unless it was defective from the beginning! Sobieski charged me $49 to diagnose the problem as most HVAC companies would, but I expected some consideration because they sold me a defective unit. Then, the other shoe dropped: they quoted me $425 to repair it (that was just for labor; the part was covered under warranty). When I said that price seemed high, they didn't budge; the price is the price. At that point, I assumed it would be a difficult, all day job. Well, their 2 technicians completed the job in less than ONE HOUR. That's right. One hour. Although I have to give an A+ to the actual workers who diagnosed and fixed my unit, this disreputable firm sold me a defective unit and then had the audacity to overcharge me for the repair. I feel completely taken advantage of, and I will tell the world about it. more

I received a courtesy call asking if my technician could come earlier than the scheduled time. He greeted me at the door with a smile, put booties over his shoes to keep my floor clean and explained what he was planning to do. Once he was done he reviewed what he did and what he recommends to keep my air conditioning unit running smoothly. I really appreciate your help. I will definitely recommend you in the future. more

Service & Inspection 6/28/2014

I have had Sobieski perform maintenance and inspection of my heating/cooling system on both occasions making from making the appointment through the entire process the representatives at Sobieski (Brittany), and the service technicans were very professional, prompt and polite. Sobieski's has installed two new 4 ton units in one of my sites, repaired a 6 ton unit at another site that was never really fixed by our previous HVAC company, and does a top notch job on maintaining a total of 14 HVAC units for me.
