I like the photo booth. The place gets funny, silly . One night everyone was dancing through last call and there was a guy in cow suit moonwalking. Ah, the Skylark. good times. ...

This establishment doesn't offer very much in the way of ambience...bartenders double as dj's to a mediocre sound system and the room was dimly lit on all three visits. I tried th...

Stay Out of My Bar 8/20/2008

As far as Skylark goes there are a bunch of different characters, a wide variety of music, and good tasting beer, with servers who know what they're serving. The one creepy uncle was fun at first, but when he told me I had a nice d*ck, I was apprehensive. Bottom line: slightly tangy, but smooth finish.\r \r *This goes out to the other reviewer(s). Keep your propoganda away from here! If you want to go to a ""Trendy"" bar or make subjective comments, then hang out in Wrigley or Wicker. You drive by this neighborhood and it gives you the right to spout of asinine comments about the local economic caste? Where were you 10 years ago? more

Tator tots with 3 dipping sauce 3/12/2008

I like the photo booth. The place gets funny, silly . One night everyone was dancing through last call and there was a guy in cow suit moonwalking. Ah, the Skylark. good times. Pros: The bar menu is pretty good. A step up from the standard bar concoctions Cons: The fake-ass yuppie creative class. Look for high end sneakers and labeled streetwear. Thier attitude can ruin the place. more

Excuse me for not being an ""artist."" 7/18/2007

Been going here for a while and always loved it. The servers were always very courteous, and the crowd was always cool and very approachable. I think we can all agree Pilsen is changing, some say for the better, but I could argue that. With the higher property taxes and condos, Pilsen is attracting some trendsetters who I would rather avoid. \r I agree with the review before mine; now when walking in this bar, it feels like if you're not part of the artist community, you're not welcome. Unfortunately, this nice little hidden away bar has turned into another North Side knockoff. Not the best of times anymore. Pros: Certain nites you can still feel that neighborhood atmosphere Cons: Most nites you're surrounded by art snobs, scene kids. more

Pilsen's version of trendy 5/16/2007

I'm from the area and this place was fun for a while, but now it's becoming very strange. The new flight of residents seem to have an attitude with patrons that are not artsy or uber trendy. \r \r The bartenders have a good attitude and the service is great. Pros: Great food and service Cons: Snobby patrons more

Nice little place 11/10/2004

Went with 2 of my girlfriends and we were a bit shocked at what we found. Ambience is not the best. The drinks are good and not pricey at all. We feel like it's a nice laidback place to get a drink at a good price. We tried the chicken wings and we didn't like it. It was overcooked and seemed they just poured BBQ sauce over it. We would definitely go back and just chill here. Nice little place for a drink! Pros: Drinks, Service more

This establishment doesn't offer very much in the way of ambience...bartenders double as dj's to a mediocre sound system and the room was dimly lit on all three visits. I tried the food once and it was a bit greasy for my palate, but the service was good. I guess they're trying. Pros: large room, good parking, clean restroom Cons: kinda expensive, dimly lit, greasy food more
