We made an 8:30 reservation a week in advance and when we arrived at the restaurant tonight, they told us that our table wasn't quite ready, so we should go into the lounge and wait for them to come get us. When we went to the lounge, it was packed with others waiting for their tables as well so there was no room to even stand. Half an hour later, we followed up with the hostess and again she repeated, ""we'll come get you when your table is ready."" We of course asked how much longer she thought it would be, and instead of telling us anything, or apologizing for our already extended wait, she just said they would find us in the lounge. Finally (40 minutes later), they did offer to buy us a round of drinks while we waited, but we decided to wait for our meal for our drinks. Another half hour later, our table was finally ready. For the restaurant to not have had any idea at all that they were running over an hour late was completely unacceptable. If they had told us up front that they were running so late, we might have chosen to do something different, or maybe we would have ordered an appetizer and drinks at the bar. They kept giving us the illusion that it would only be another 5 to 10 minutes longer. \r
After finally sitting down and ordering, the food overall was just ok. Our appetizers of tuna tartar and the bufala mozzarella were exceptional, but everything else was just average. We ordered for our main course: the flat iron steak, the lamb, the crispy duck (which had to be sent back because it was so bad), and the chicken entree. We ordered 3 desserts: banana bread pudding (which was luke warm), vanilla angel food cake, and the triple chocolate fondue. \r
Food review: Presentation was outstanding (the food really looked appetizing!). Unfortunately the taste of the food did not quite match the esthetics. \r
Needless to say, we will not be returning to Sibling Rivalry especially with all the other outstanding restaurant options in the area.
Pros: Tuna tartar appetizer
Cons: service, food just average
