My husband and I moved here from New York a couple of years ago, and the one thing we miss terribly is the New York pizza. That is, until we found San Gennaro. Just looking at the old style green awning and lettering reminded us of the old-style italian restaurants one can find all across Manhattan and Brookly. When you get inside, the waiters are extremely friendly, and the service was very fast. We were a little skeptical at first - could the pizza be any good here? We were definitely not disappointed. The crust was thin yet firm and crunchy, the toppings were fresh and sauce is not too sweet (like most LA pizzas), and not too runny. We also ordered a bottle of wine, which was incredibly cheap (only about $15!) and incredibly good. We were so happy with the place that we went there the next weekend for brunch. Admittedly, their brunch service was a little slower (I think they only had one waiter working), but the food was still delicious. Additionally, the coffee there is amazing! The coffee was incredibly smooth, not too bitter, and definitely had a kick to it. I ended up having 3 cups of coffee because it was so good. If you're looking for a nice family italian restaurant with a great pizza and pasta menu, as well as an abundant selection of wine at an incredibly low price, then I definitely recommend this place!
Pros: friendly restaurant, quick service, very comfortable settings
Cons: street metered parking only, no parking lot
